Pour ma part je n'oublierais pas ce jeu, je me le suis fait y'a 13 ans, j'en avais 14 et franchement c'était un pur jeu que je regrette d'avoir revendre, un peu comme tout le reste de ma collection de jeux de gameboy...
This game fucking sucks, i just bought it from ebay and its terrible. Compared to DKL2 its easy as fuck , there are no hard levels, lava going up, hot water, races, hot-air baloons, difficult bosses...FUCKING NOTHING!!! Just pick up dixie and fly to the end of the level! Horrible game guys
@g0sub your obviously good at this game right? well then post a video beating it in at least 37 mins, dont bash old nintendo games, best platforming consoles made where by nintendo.
@g0sub maybe it is, i never played the game, but i know that you couldn't just put a game together in a day back then like that...and im sure it was many peoples favorite games for whatever reason...obviously the guy who made this video was fond by it. and at the end of the day, all we've said has been nothing more than a personal opinion.
If it weren't for gameboy and the black/white pixel, there wouldn't be an psp, nintendo ds, or anything like that. Ppl need to learn their video game history!
omg I remember playing these games on the shitty original gameboy that had a horribly small 1.5" black on wihit-ish brown LCD screen with no backlit and slow refresh rate. And yet it was so fun and awesome to own!
I still have the game but my Gameboy is broke D: this game was my childhood could never beat it back then cause I could never figure out how to beat the robot @__@ Ah Nostalgia.
used to play this for gameboy pocket years ago :'( sad to think alot of the kids these days are now spoiled with their 360s and show no respect for awesome games like this. Tho i love modern games too <3
Pfft, Go play donkey kong country for snes instead of these old gay ass games for gay boy... and yes, who the fuck would want to speedrun such a crappy ass game u fuckin chode!!!
No. It's a Game Boy Color game based on the general concept of DKC3, but with different levels. Donkey Kong Land 1 and 2 are the same for their respective Donkey Kong Country game- An 8-bit version with new stages.
Actually, only DKL 2 is similar to it's SNES counterpart. DKL 1 and 3 were different games from their SNES counterparts. Also, DKL 3 was only released as a Game Boy Color game in Japan, and even then, it was only a dual mode game, meaning it would work on both the original GB, and be fully colorized on the GBC. The US and EU versions were just original Game Boy games.
lol funny .. i know for sure kids that growth up with the ps2 and xbox360 and ps3 are thinking like what the hell is this for shitty crap ... but it is a really fun game :P
Tool-Assisted means that whoever is playing this used an emulator. It goes slightly further than that, however. On an emulator, you might have some abilities that you wouldn't have on a regular console. For example, you might be able to save at any point and return to that point, a function called save-states. Almost all emulators have that ability. If you make a mistake, you can just load from a save state, and make it look like nothing happened.
On some emulators, you might even be able to play a game on a frame-by-frame basis, perfecting your run right down to the millisecond. This allows you to overcome the limits of skill and reflex. Some people believe that this is not a legitimate method though, and that people should still play using skill rather than a tool of some kind. I feel that some games are pretty darn impressive when played with a tool, though.
OK, I spotted quite a few glaring flaws in this TAS:
1. Way too often, especially at the beginning of the run, laughing_gas forgets to bowl over enemies, and instead jumps past them. Bowling over enemies gives nice speed boosts. It gets better as the run goes on though. Also, I noticed that he jumps WAY too soon after hitting an enemy (which shortens the speed boost), and sometimes he JUMPS on enemies, which is rarely (but sometimes) useful, as you lose horizontal speed.
5. Barbos Bastion: I think it would help if Enguarde went in circles so that the Lurchins would be closer to Barbos. This would result in less time hitting Barbos.
6. There are times when Kiddy is faster than Dixie. Part of this is because Kiddy rolls differently, which can be more helpful at times. Examples: In Tundra Blunda, at around 16:30 to 16:32, Kiddy would be able to roll into a Krimp, which would result in another speed boost. Dixie would fall short of the Krimp. Another example would be around 16:53 -- 16:54, where Kiddy would be able to roll into the first Niknak and speed up some more.

Isn't that kind of redundant? The Game Boy Pocket was exactly the same system as the original GB, except smaller.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Tool-Assisted is not a speedrun, it's just cheating to go really fast. a speedrun is when you use skill to get through a level, not cheats.

2. laughing_gas forgets the warp in Seabed Shanty. And yes, it exists. I have a video showing where it is.
3. When using Dixie's helicopter spin, laughing_gas forgets to let go of B right before Dixie lands. This eliminates the short pause when landing.
4. When swimming underwater and using Squawks, laughing_gas forgets to hold Up when going upward. This would make you ascend faster.
Blaziken257 4 years ago
5. Barbos Bastion: I think it would help if Enguarde went in circles so that the Lurchins would be closer to Barbos. This would result in less time hitting Barbos.
