Thanks Matt! The filming of this was not easy,.. we always film AFTER Halloween when all the kids go home and it was cold and damp that year,.. so we did it quickly so not many bloopers this time. But we did have fun though!!!!
We cut then from Aluminum in a semi tear drop shape making the top wider than the bottom, then hammered them into a dome shape and gave them a curve. It was quite easy once we got the hang of it... and they're very sturdy. We made sure that the distance between the two ends would fit a piece of wood which was bolted to a metal shaft off the blade. I should probably have that make more sense, umm.... ok.....
We left the bottom of the blade with a thinner strip of metal which we then slid into the metal hand protector which we had cut a hole through (exactly the width of the blade shaft) the top of it. We then bolted two half pieces of wood to the shaft in between both ends of the hand protector. We then wrapped that wood in strips of sued.
We made them from Aluminum and actually hammered out the hand protectors by hand. It was actually a lot of fun me playing Will Turner to be a bit of a blacksmith for a day! :-D

Dang that was good! Why am I just seeing this stuff????? Mom is doing a fantastic job as jack as are the rest of the cast! I really enjoyed this!
