the 5th down is only #6 wtf that's #1 at least on the interference there was holding and Ohio St. didn't get a holding call on the previous possession
GET OVER IT "UM" fans!!!!! Go rent the DVD and GO BACK to about 2:20 left in the game, and BAM...missed "holding call", then the WRONG CALL (when the score was 17-14 OSU). THAT ole TROUBLED ONES was the game deicding FACTOR, NOT the "interference" call in the endzone in OT!! UM had every opportunity in the world to win it AFTER the NO CALL, THE MISSED CALL, and interference call, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE BUCKEYES!! NOW CHEW on that DOUBTERS, and Buckeys HATERS!!! GO BUCKS!!!
this is obviously a stupid miami fan who is still troubled. FIRST. There were two defensive pass interference calls not called. second they ruled an obvious catch incomplete when it was 3rd and 10. And last there was defensive holding and you can see the ref signal for d holding first then pass interference
Of course a Miami fan would think the OSU call is a bad call. You have to be either a super ignorant homer or a super ignorant blinded-by-the-hate OSU hater to not see the grab to Gamble's jersey and facemask.
oh boohoo you bumblin bitches. go cry to someone who gives a shit. it clearly was the right call and replay shows that..typical miami fans just bitching about their shitty team.
Bottom Line. Miami STILL had chances to stop Ohio State after the Pass Interference Call AND DIDN'T! Amazing how The Hater Media never brings this up. It's like they had money on Miami.
if any of you had any football intelligence you would know that the defenders head has to be turned toward the football when a pass is in the air. could gamble have caught the ball? yes, and he should!
What goes around, comes around ; ) That's why OSU's program is now crumbling as well lol. I wanna see what they're gonna do without their saint Tressel.
This is pretty sad list. The Miami/Ohio State call could have gone either way. Saying it's a "bad" call is ignorant. What's worse is including Washington/BYU on the list. There's isn't any doubt what-so-ever that it was the correct call. The rules specifically states that you either put the ball down, or handed it to the official. Throwing it in the air is not one of those. Now, it's a bad rule, but calling it a bad call is ignorant.
Number 1 has been validated numerous times by the people who know the rules of football best. Look it up. It was validated by the National Association of Sports Officials. So it's moronic to call that a bad call
Don't understand your #1 considering the ball is still in the air on the way to the receiver and the CB is already all over him. THAT is pass interference by rule..
Anyone who blames the fact that they lost on the officials is either a perpetual loser, never played competitive sports or both. The old adage is “if you were truly better than your opponent, one call by an official did not decide the contest.” Whoever made this video is a moron.
Kansas State vs. Syracuse, excessive celebration call against Kansas State for saluting to the crowd after a touchdown. That's the worst call I've ever seen in sports
The OU vs Oregon call(s) are the absolute worst for many reasons, but most importantly because it was REVIEWED. The rest of these were judgment calls or did not have a review available.
A) Ball was touched by Oregon before 10 yards
B) OU player recovered the loose ball, #23
C) The fact the refs call it Oregon ball when the ball isn't even in the pile (biggest LOL)
D) The ensuing pass interference call that was reviewed and showed the ball being tipped at the LoS which would nullify the PI call.
I am a Miami fan and I will say this. Too many officials take the game in their hands and this is no exception. Should the game have come down this call? No. Miami should have won by @ least 10 points but they didn't execute. Ohio State had some good players on that team but nothing the calibar of Miami IMO
Really? The penalty against Washington? I watched that entire game, and the refs turned a blind eye every time a Husky offensive lineman TACKLED a BYU defender instead of blocking them, called false start penalties against BYU when linemen were turning their heads to hear the audible called, and basically doing everything else possible to hand Washington the game.
12 penalties called against BYU. 2 called against Washington. But yeah, let's complain about that ONE call.
it would have helped if you put up the videos of these penalties cuz we don't know WTF happened if we didn't see the game you can't post these kind of vids without the footage it just doesn't work im sorry
The Butteyes have played in more BCS games simply because they get an automatic bid by winning a very weak league with no Championship Game. When the Butteyes have had to step up and play big time competition in the BCS they have been hammered.
If teams like Florida, LSU, USC could play in the Big Ten every year they too would have many more BCS appearances.
@ccistheman The Buckeyes are 6-3 in BCS Bowl games and you say when they have to step up and play real competition they have been hammered? Free yourself from the hate and you will see the truth. Any opponents in a BCS Bowl is big time competition.
I won't go on to say how ridiculous you sounded here, the comment is sufficient on it;s own.
Worst calls? Maybe it should say some of the most famous bad calls. When was the last game where there wasn't at least one bad call, or the lack of a flag by officials. Officials try to do a good job,but they are only human. Missed calls will happen in every game, for and against both teams. Sure, sometimes bad calls will be in one teams favor more than the other team. And yet sometimes the bad calls that we remember are against the team that had the most calls go in their favor. Its football.
was it pass interference? probably not, but was it holding on the same play? yes. was there a face mask on the same play? yes. either of which would have given osu another shot at the end zone...stop crying about your failures miami, and be happy you got the new look heat. LOL!
I've noticed the past few days and weeks on this message board that none of the Miami fans are rebutting what OSU fans are saying about several missed penalties before this call was even made. I think they're finally beginning to accept it and are finished whining about something that happened almost a decade ago.
Of course they need to have a reason why their program has nose-dived since this call but I'll just go with the obvious, poor coaching, poor discipline and a lack of integrity.
@RocknRollSoul84 youre absolutely right. was jenkins inbounds? yeah, he was. im not defending that missed call. do i think the call in the endzone was worse and mattered more? absolutely.
but youre right. miami has been a poorly coached team of inner city kids from overtown since butch davis left. on every running play, they overpursue. there is no discipline on the field. randy shannon is no head football coach, and never will be. part of me wants them to tank every year so he gets fired
@bringtheOBback Regardless if it was bad or not...when Ohio St had the ball with 2:00 left in the 4th quarter...all they had to do was run the clock out....the fact that receiver Gamble was not only held..but pulled by his jersey like a rag doll by the Miami defender..and the penalty wasn't called means the game should have never went to OT...should have been an automatic first down..OSU runs out clock...game over
@Romes944 Yes, his name is Luke Fickell. You must be one of those casual fans who can't follow what's happening in the sports world. And don't worry, even if Fickell is only there this year there will be a line at the door to fill in as the Head Coach for Ohio State. But, regardless, Luke Fickell is the Head Coach right now.
Also, @AngelAlvarez07 - Besides Tressel being let go how is Ohio State crumbling? Wait until next season is over before you put your foot in your mouth.
. On third down a catch by Chris Gamble was ruled incomplete due to his being out of bounds. Replays showed that Gamble's jersey was held on the play by his Miami defender, and his catch was actually caught in-bounds. If the play had been called correctly Ohio State probably could have ran out out most of the clock. But the Buckeyes were forced to punt and Groom punted the ball 44 yards.
For the last time it wasn't originally pass interference the field judge said defensive holding, they called pass interference because he shoved him with his right arm. also there is a facemask at 1:24. Either way its a first down ohio state. LET IT THE FUCK GO!!!!!
The officials in the Miami-Ohio State title game missed TWO calls on a Buckeye third down that lead to Miami getting the ball with enough time to kick a FG to go to OT to begin with.
They didn't call a hold on Chris Gamble, who then caught the ball anyway, and they ruled it incomplete.
If they didn't make TWO errors on that play, the game is over 17-14, Buckeyes win.
Miami should not have had to rely on marginal DB play to secure a game they were favored to win by two touchdowns.
@walstib77 ..all the bucks needed to do in the 4th quarter was run the clock out...remember the Miami defender had Gamble by the jersey pulling him around...no call for holding..that should have been an automatic first down...we would have then run out the clock and won without going to OT
well I can see that the person who posted this is twelve years old and has no clue about the rules of football . you cant grab the reciever past the line of scrimage and then face mask him during the play . The replay shows both , but if your on crack and have no clue what you are talking about I can see how this can happen . OH BY THE WAY 36-24 GO BUCKS !
i dont care what people say about this play there was a penalty the DB held Chris Gamble before the pass interference call no matter what the Ohio state buckeyes would have won and for all those miami fans who keep on complaining after all these years miami has not done anything in 8 years and they will not beat ohio state today because they are in the horseshoe and ohio state is the better team Go Buckeyes!
Ok so maybe there wasnt a pass interference call in the ohio state game. but watch the replays of the referee coming on the field. he calls only holding and then pass interference both on the defense. The holding call is legit. Keith jackson on the replay even states that. but only one penelty can be called per team per every live play. So they picked pi. or if you like they could have called the facemask penelty that occured before the ball hit the ground. Either way a penelty occured.
you are absolutely right. the 1. worst call was correct. I guess it should have been facemasking, clearly shown in this picture, or def. holding, not shown, from the line which, "impeded his progress." Either way it would have been a first down, and this should not be controversial; so why should it matter which penalty, of the 3 argued, was called? GO BUCKS!

funny how everyone forgets the bad calls that even allowed Miami to get to OT. There was at least a holding so either way it was a penalty, Miami fans need to get over it and quit ignoring the bad calls that even got them to that point in the game.
I love how miami fans still complain about this crap. Get over it! your team has been awful since then, and your team is going to get blown out this saturday. and it was p.i you morons, the cb was holding the reciever the wholeeee play.
Krenzel then rushed for one more 1st down on a 4 yard gain until they were held by the Miami D and were forced to punt once again. On third down a catch by Chris Gamble was ruled incomplete due to his being out of bounds. those refs in the ohio maimi fiesta bowl missed tons of calls. if it werent for that game wouldnt have even been close. despite the fact refs seemed to be ignoring in their faces holding and blocking in the back calls that gave miami many big plays. ohio state was able to overcome MANY missed and bad calls. stay in it and win. thats what champions do. if miami couldnt overcome one bad call in that game, when ohio state overcame at least a good ten of them, then they didnt desrve to win
im a buckeye fan and it wasnt pass interference, but it was holding and it was a facemask, either way the result would have been the same, there was definantly a penalty on the play it just wasnt pass interference
If you look at the entire play of the buckeyes-canes pass interference call, you will see that the canes defender was holding chris gamble while the ball was in the air. so, even if t may not have been pass interference, at the very least it was defensive holding (which results in the same thing). so you really have no argument. buckeyes won fair and square, and they will win this weekend, fair and square. so suck it miami.

I am proud of seeing Ohio State playing in a week conference and then watching them get their asses handed to them by Florida and LSU for the Championship!!!! Thats what you have to be proud of!!!
The only thing bad about the PI call against Miami was they called the wrong penalty. Gamble was clearly held so the call should have been defensive holding. The sideline ref who had trouble pulling the flag out signalled defensive holding. Defensive holding would have resulted in the same yardage and a 1st down exactly like the PI penalty. You want to see bad calls? Check out Iowa vs Florida in the 2006 Outback Bowl. All went against Iowa. watch?v=N7vRYakQgkI
Since the inception of the BCS, Ohio State has played in more BCS games than any other team in the nation, 8 (5 wins, 3 losses). The next closest is Florida who has only played in 6. Oh, and by the way, yes Ohio State has lost 2 BCS national championship games and only won 1, however, their's is not the worst record in BCS championship history. There is a team by the name of Oklahoma who has played in four BCS championship games and only won 1. So there all you OSU haters. LOL. Go BUCKS!!!!
@bdoyle1970 Thats simply cause the Ohio State plays in an overrated conference, people like to argue that its probably the best conference historically and might be, but there horrible now. Almost like the ACC.
@sproac7471 come back when you know what you are talking about... lets just list some teams. #16Ohio State (leads in most bcs bowl apperances), #11 Nebraska (heisman candidate soph. QB), #10 Wisconsin (Big 10 co-champs last year, rose bowl), #17 Michigan State (Big 10 co-champs, high powered offense), #25 Penn State (Joe Paterno, 401 wins), Michigan (hate to compliment them but most wins in history), Illinois (year in and year out darkhorse team), Iowa (beat missouri last year who beat oklahoma)
@123thebuckeyefan Ohio State is a solid team year in year out. Too bad when they finally beat a SEC team their win gets vacated, and dont say that they still won because if they hadn't played the ineligible players then they wouldn't have won. Nebraska starts big 10 play this year so they arn't included in discussion of past Big 10 performance.Wisconsin is a good team but had some less than stellar wins, they sure know how to run it up against the bad teams though. (they also beat ur buckeyes)
@123thebuckeyefan MIchigan state the big 10 Cochamps got absolutely destroyed by the team that finished 4th of 6 in the SEC west(ouch). Penn state is historically good and i like Joe Pa but not so good last year and got beat by Floridas worst team in IDK how long. Michigan also historically great but currently horrible, they should be better than they are, also goot whooped up on like their michigan state brothers. Illionois a dark horse team? Auburn is a darkhorse team except they actually win.
@123thebuckeyefan And lastly Iowa, you know just because team a beat team b and team b beat team c doesnt make team a better than c. Viginia tech lost to James Madison last year but that doesn't mean they James Madison would win the ACC. Historically I agree the Big 10 is no worse than second, some people would argue they are better then the SEC some wont but currently its no debate that the big 10 is not great currently even though they still might be the 2nd best conference.
@sproac7471 i agree that the SEC is the best conference in the country, no doubt. but the big 10 is a distant second and they are way better then the ACC was my point. i wasnt comparing the big 10 to sec i was comparing big 10 to ACC. Also, i'm pretty sure we would of beat missouri last year. and i know iowa would not have beaten oklahoma.
@123thebuckeyefan - the ACC???? why are u comparing big 10 to ACC, big 10/11 vs big 12/10 is a much better comparison. big 12/10 gets the nod slightly i think
@123thebuckeyefan Ok yes I can agree with you there, the ACC is probably only better than the Big East as far as AQ conferences go, I wasn't meaning that too literally jus trying to say that Ohio State's record wouldn't quite be where it is if they had to play other 4 or so elite teams and 4 or so good teams a year instead of maybe 1 or 2 elite teams yearly and 2 or 3 good teams. They are good still though. Kinda got lucky to not let Arkansas not come back, all they had to do was pick up the
@bdoyle1970 BCS history is very brief, and I would say it's far better to get there and lose than to not get there at all. As far as more BCS meaningless games, it's much easier to get an automatic bid playing in a weaker conference, without having to play in a league championship game. So hang your hat on that if that makes you happy, in the end, you only have the same number of BCS championships as Oklahoma, one. Which I might add, was given to you by the above mentioned bad call.
@bdoyle1970 It's not too hard to get in the BCS when you play in the auto-qualifying Big Tease. TCU or Boise State could run that conference if they were in it. OSU played 2 teams in 2010 that had less than 5 losses. They went 1-1 in those games, although the record will show they went 0-1 on the year.
@cvd13ent lol. Yeah, despite how badly TCU has choked this year against easy teams, and how BSU plays about 10 awful teams per year, they'd still do better than most of the Big Tease teams.
Yeah it should have been defensive holding ....or interference.....or face mask....the bad call was that there wasn't flags flying all over the place instead of fireworks....
Just be a fan of the game. Officials should never determine the outcome of a game, especially on the final play and when the original call was incomplete, game over. But since it happened, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter about what OSU fans think or Miami fans think. Don't blame the schools/teams for what happened, a mistake happened. Everyone knows it and I know the official feels horrible about it. I love college football and the Canes, but we can't change the past. Go CANES
@zackiemackie12 The oregon oklahoma call was the worst call in ever made. The PAC 10 officials had to apologize to the Big 12 and I think they were suspended. Oklahoma didn't have a bf about it. They moved on with their lives after that. They should have had only one regular season loss that year.
The Oregon-Oklahoma is by far the worst call in NCAA Football History and it may be the worst call ever in any sport. I can't believe the rest of you are arguing the OSU-Miami game. That might be the most controversial call but not even close to the worst. Oregon kicks off, clearly touches the ball before the 10 yard marker, and doesn't even recover the football and is still rewarded the ball AFTER the officials in the booth reviewed the play. I can't believe this is listed as number 2.
miami won that game (02) what a joke osu fans think they actually won that n.c. ? the world knows there will always be a asterisk after that n.c. game. And im a GATOR fan saying this!
That interference was a bad call against Miami. Holding maybe. Regardless, not even worst call in that game - maybe a make up call. Two holding penalties and a catch in bounds -- both missed during the same play when OSU was up 17-14 and driving with a few minutes left in regulation. Holding against Gamble on a fake inside, then when breaking outside, then called out of bounds when inbounds. 3 bad call let Miami get ball back for tieing FG. OSU deserved to win the game during regulation.
bad call! canes where robbed, and he even had a chance to catch the ball and still he missed it, that makes it TWICE as lame. 07 and 08 champ games ohio lost... karma perhaps? reminds me of superbowl 40
i would just like to put in my two cents, there was pass interference on the play get over it, Ohio state was the better team that night, maybe if Miami didn't turn the ball over 5 times that night things would be different, so place blame on a team that played like shit that night, not the officials
That LSU one was fucked up. They call pass interference and then they discuss it and decide it was ruled uneligible. There is no rule in the book that says you can cancel a penalty.
So what call was worse? The Pass Interference call that allowed Ohio State to win the game, or the holding call at 2:25 left in the 4th that allowed Miami to go into overtime that gave them the ability to bitch about a penalty that was actually holding and would have resulted in the same thing?
The Ohio State Buckeyes stole a BCS National Championship from my beloved Miami Hurricanes. 10 years lateR we steal there beloved King James :) karma's a sexy bia
You need to get a life and stop the crying already. Let's review the facts:
1. OSU's defense absolutely destroyed your offense.
2. Miami should have never even been in OT against OSU. On OSU's last possession in regulation Gamble was held twice on 3rd and 3 and it wasn't called. They were both BLATANT holds/PI.
4. Gamble still caught that pass inbounds but was ruled out.
5. Miami benefitted from a PI call in OT and had 5 shots at the endzone and couldn't convert.

After mutliple reviews of this call the officials and NCAA all agree there was facemask AND defensive holding. Both result in a first down. Get over it, it was a good call. 9/11 in the shoe, OSU's defense will own miami.
Thanks for the vid, but from a person who has rarely watched college football, I can't tell anything from these screenshots. They'd be fine if you're reliving memories, but that's about it.
I'd disagree with the PI no call on the LSU/Auburn game.. can't have PI on a tipped pass receivers are fair game.. ball is clearly tipped 5 yards in front of the receiver.. if not tipped.. it's PI
absolutely not one of the worst ever either way heck it's not even the most arguable call in that rivalry as I think the "Over the top" penalty on the extra pt in 2004 was dicey at best and that DID change the outcome as that was the game winning point
What about the blown call where the refs called the OSU receiver out of bounds when he was in that gave Miami the opportunity to tie. No one wants to talk about that?
@19Gray ;-) september is right around the corner lol....would hate to see a redemption game like this one ruin your NC shot hahahahahaha....This is ripe for the perfect storm coming to that donkey Shoe! All about the "[]_[]" Baby!
ohio atate did nott win that champshioship we are making sure of that u fucking columbus fuckoff well wait for u u here in miami to the living shit out of u
I can't see how people can call the fifth down a "Bad Call" Colorado did not receive an extra shot at scoring because of it.
1) Spike
2) Run
3)Run
4) Spike
5) Run
If the first spike is counted, the second spike doesn't occur because they know its fourth down. So it still would have come down to Missouri needing to stop one more play by CO, which is what happened in the game.
But Andre Johnson never won a super bowl with one foot, shockey sat out the year NY got their ring, and Cris Carter was never alleged to either have rape charges or busted for coke.
To be fair though, Beanie Wells is a punk (You NEVER sit out of a rivalry game because of turf toe. You just don't.)
And you didn't give us that game. You choked, and then the refs gave us the game. If you're going to whine, do it accurately.
For all of you fake ass buckeye fans FYI the U just supplys the NFL with mad talent from juniors to seniors the hurricanes would have cleaned the table with national championships but the NCAA don't render pay checks we want the money and the glory what seriuos talent have the buckeyes put in the league NOTHING! POINT AT YA WORK.
@QuesCandi They must not teach math at "the whU?". Ohio state has more first round draft picks historically than most Div I teams (don't talk about the USC, i hate those phucks.) And as for our "lack of talent in the pros"? Orlando Pace, Eddie George, Cris Carter, Mike Nugent (yeah, hes a kicker, but he's still THE NUGE!"), Terry Glenn.
name your 5. and leave Cokie McSnortfuck Michael Irvin out.
@bassist053 Micheal Irving vs. Chris Carter= M.I.) Andre Johnson vs.Santonio Holmes=A.J.) Reggie Wayne vs. Chris Gamble=R,W.) Frank Gore vs. Chris Wells=F.G.) OSU can't compete with the U, SO STOP! I can name a host of others but i ran out of OSU talent you should thank the hurricanes for giving OSU that national championship because that's what happened, your team needed help!
@bassist053 Actaully we've got 1 Ray Lewis 2 Ed Reed 3 Andre Johnson 4 Ted Hendricks 5 Reggie Wayne 6 Jeremy Shockey 7 Jim Kelly 8 Jonathan Vilma 9 DJ Williams 10 Sean Taylor there theres 10! double what the buckeyes have
@bassist053 dude miami has supplied more talent then that in just one draft class alone. Mike Nugent??? lmao, thats where your list ends but as for Miami the list goes on and on and on and on
@QuesCandi and more to the point!!! Still have the only two time heisman winner ever (so close Tim, so close) , and we've been averaging 11-2 for the last 7 years while the Hurrilames are doing around an 8-4 over the same period.
TO BE DECIDED September 11th!!! Headline prediction: "OSU hijacks game from Miami, canes crash in Columbus"
Lets look ahead 8 seasons after that game. Ohio State: 4-4 in BCS since that game. (Most recently a big win over favored Oregon in the Rose Bowl)
Miami: One BCS bowl since the "P.I." call.
If you want your crystal football for that year, fine. On the condition you admit you've been nothing short of mediocre since then. And I want it in writing from every hurricane fan on this board.
Let's go, you Eli Sundays! "The miami hurricanes have had nothing to be proud of for the last 8 seasons."
miami has been nothing short of mediocre since then. thanks to larry coker and another mediocre head coach in randy shannon. also due to urban meyer stealing many of our recruits and the new tendencies for people like lane kiffin who pay recruits. so yes. miami has been very mediocre and until they even get to an ACC championship game thats what they will be branded as. ill be in columbus for the game, but i fully expect a 45-14 ohio state win.
@bassist053 I got no problem admitting that we've been mediocre since 2003. And you can throw out Ohio State's BCS record all you want, but we have just as many BCS titles as you, and FOUR more national titles since 1970. Miami also has more NFL pro bowlers than a lot of entire conferences do. So I can't say we have nothing to be proud of.
Oh and for the Randy haters on here: Don't you DARE try to hop back on the bandwagon when we beat tOSU and go undefeated this year. Fags.
@bassist053 We will see come September 11th at that "DONKEY SHOE" we will see just how mediocre that Miami little team in your suckeye mind may be lol.Pryor still has yet to prove his consistancey.Oregon was one game....Lets see him throw all over Miami's "D"[remember this name "RAY RAY"] and run his 4.3 bigness on that 8 returning starters on Miami's "D"!I can't wait!GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CANES!!!!Mediocre you say???;-) We shall see soon enough!
OSU has been great since 03. How can we forget those memorable bowl performances in both 2007 and 2008?
2007 - Ohio State ranked number 1 to play against the Florida gators for a national championship. OSU was a14 point favorite. Final score? 41-14 FLORIDA.
2008 - Ohio State vs. LSU in another Championship game. Result? 38-24 LOUISIANA STATE.
OSU has been 0-8 vs. SEC teams in bowls. They had to play an overrated Oregon team from the Pac-10 in 2009.
I love how cocky these Buckeyes are and brag about their "tradition". They have one title in the last 40 years and it came on a bogus PI call. Miami got screwed out of two national titles and we still got 5 rings since 1984.
Buckeye fans have a serious inferiority complex. They know Miamis gonna give them all they can handle, thats why they're like "oh it wont even be close" and "were gonna stomp the canes". lol they know whats coming this September,
How can you have the call the Umpires Association called the best call of the decade and the NCAA Head Official has called a correct call one of the worse calls in NCAA history? The problem isn't the call it's the fact that Miami should have rolled in that game and instead let Ohio State gain confidence and, subsequently, lost the game.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I do think a reason the Umpires Association made that statement was because they didn't want any more fallout from football fans. It was their way of saying, we support this man. There's also the fact that talking heads in the media hate the University of Miami. I can't make a long list of examples, but if you saw "The U" you should know what I'm talking about. Miami is hated by many, and I think many people in the media were glad to see the call made.
@bringtheOBback The media hates The U? No chance. Ohio State seems to be the team everyone loves to hate. Especially the media. Mark May, Kirk "Iscariot" Herbstreit, Brent Musberger, Desmond Howard etc.
OSU was given a National Championship in this game. All I can say is that the next two times they played of a NC, well, we all remember the beating they took on both occassions.
if we showed up in '06, Florida wouldnt of had a chance! We just got lazy, and fat...so yeah! LSU game we shouldve won...but its in the past and this year is our year! PRYOR TIME BABY!!
Yeah that DOUBLE OVERTIME win on a CHEAP CALL is total domination and very comparable to Miami's 34-0 lead over Nebraska at halftime. You fuckin moron get a clue.
we did dominate them! they were LUCKY it went into OT when it shouldve ended in Regualation! Neb was OVERRATED that year...nuf said...OSU WASNT overrated that year...so kiss my Buckeye loving ass!
@Hworth8 if it wasn't for the interception that ken dorsey threw and fumble that he lost OSU would have NEVER scored, the score would have been 17-0,OSU only scored on turnovers
Agree with # 1 Im an Alabama fan and didnt care who won. This was sickening. Someone had deep pockets.(buckeye booster?)

Now, it's a bad rule, but calling it a bad call is ignorant.
ftbobs 7 months ago
Number 1 has been validated numerous times by the people who know the rules of football best. Look it up. It was validated by the National Association of Sports Officials. So it's moronic to call that a bad call

Anyone who blames the fact that they lost on the officials is either a perpetual loser, never played competitive sports or both. The old adage is “if you were truly better than your opponent, one call by an official did not decide the contest.” Whoever made this video is a moron.

dukedevils688 9 months ago
The OU vs Oregon call(s) are the absolute worst for many reasons, but most importantly because it was REVIEWED. The rest of these were judgment calls or did not have a review available.
A) Ball was touched by Oregon before 10 yards
B) OU player recovered the loose ball, #23
C) The fact the refs call it Oregon ball when the ball isn't even in the pile (biggest LOL)
D) The ensuing pass interference call that was reviewed and showed the ball being tipped at the LoS which would nullify the PI call.
brob785 10 months ago
@brob785 agreed but PI can't be reviewed so even if they see that in the replay they can not overturn it.

I am a Miami fan and I will say this. Too many officials take the game in their hands and this is no exception. Should the game have come down this call?

RocknRollSoul84 1 year ago

Also, @AngelAlvarez07 - Besides Tressel being let go how is Ohio State crumbling? Wait until next season is over before you put your foot in your mouth.
MrAfterword 6 months ago

TheDarremac 1 year ago
i dont care what people say about this play there was a penalty the DB held Chris Gamble before the pass interference call no matter what the Ohio state buckeyes would have won and for all those miami fans who keep on complaining after all these years miami has not done anything in 8 years and they will not beat ohio state today because they are in the horseshoe and ohio state is the better team Go Buckeyes!
brooksspires5 1 year ago
Ok so maybe there wasnt a pass interference call in the ohio state game. but watch the replays of the referee coming on the field. he calls only holding and then pass interference both on the defense. The holding call is legit. Keith jackson on the replay even states that. but only one penelty can be called per team per every live play. So they picked pi. or if you like they could have called the facemask penelty that occured before the ball hit the ground. Either way a penelty occured.

you are absolutely right. the 1. worst call was correct. I guess it should have been facemasking, clearly shown in this picture, or def. holding, not shown, from the line which, "impeded his progress." those refs in the ohio maimi fiesta bowl missed tons of calls. if it werent for that game wouldnt have even been close. despite the fact refs seemed to be ignoring in their faces holding and blocking in the back calls that gave miami many big plays. ohio state was able to overcome MANY missed and bad calls. stay in it and win. thats what champions do. if miami couldnt overcome one bad call in that game, when ohio state overcame at least a good ten of them, then they didnt desrve to win

123thebuckeyefan 5 months ago
@123thebuckeyefan Ohio State is a solid team year in year out. Too bad when they finally beat a SEC team their win gets vacated, and dont say that they still won because if they hadn't played the ineligible players then they wouldn't have won. Nebraska starts big 10 play this year so they arn't included in discussion of past Big 10 performance.Wisconsin is a good team but had some less than stellar wins, they sure know how to run it up against the bad teams though. (they also beat ur buckeyes)
sproac7471 5 months ago
@123thebuckeyefan MIchigan state the big 10 Cochamps got absolutely destroyed by the team that finished 4th of 6 in the SEC west(ouch). Penn state is historically good and i like Joe Pa but not so good last year and got beat by Floridas worst team in IDK how long. Michigan also historically great but currently horrible, they should be better than they are, also goot whooped up on like their michigan state brothers. Illionois a dark horse team? Auburn is a darkhorse team except they actually win.
sproac7471 5 months ago
@123thebuckeyefan And lastly Iowa, you know just because team a beat team b and team b beat team c doesnt make team a better than c. Viginia tech lost to James Madison last year but that doesn't mean they James Madison would win the ACC. Historically I agree the Big 10 is no worse than second, some people would argue they are better then the SEC some wont but currently its no debate that the big 10 is not great currently even though they still might be the 2nd best conference.
sproac7471 5 months ago
@sproac7471 i agree that the SEC is the best conference in the country, no doubt. but the big 10 is a distant second and they are way better then the ACC was my point. i wasnt comparing the big 10 to sec i was comparing big 10 to ACC. Also, i'm pretty sure we would of beat missouri last year. and i know iowa would not have beaten oklahoma.

Kinda got lucky to not let Arkansas not come back, all they had to do was pick up the

fu2612 6 months ago
@bdoyle1970 BCS history is very brief, and I would say it's far better to get there and lose than to not get there at all. As far as more BCS meaningless games, it's much easier to get an automatic bid playing in a weaker conference, without having to play in a league championship game. So hang your hat on that if that makes you happy, in the end, you only have the same number of BCS championships as Oklahoma, one. Which I might add, was given to you by the above mentioned bad call.
wcrew97 5 months ago
@bdoyle1970 It's not too hard to get in the BCS when you play in the auto-qualifying Big Tease. TCU or Boise State could run that conference if they were in it. OSU played 2 teams in 2010 that had less than 5 losses. They went 1-1 in those games, although the record will show they went 0-1 on the year.

Just be a fan of the game. Officials should never determine the outcome of a game, especially on the final play and when the original call was incomplete, game over.

OSU deserved to win the game during regulation.

i would just like to put in my two cents, there was pass interference on the play get over it, Ohio state was the better team that night, maybe if Miami didn't turn the ball over 5 times that night things would be different, so place blame on a team that played like shit that night, not the officials

ohio football sucks miami will beat them in all levels highschool ,college and nfl hell even optimist

That LSU one was fucked up. They call pass interference and then they discuss it and decide it was ruled uneligible. There is no rule in the book that says you can cancel a penalty.
olemissnation 1 year ago
So what call was worse? The Pass Interference call that allowed Ohio State to win the game, or the holding call at 2:25 left in the 4th that allowed Miami to go into overtime that gave them the ability to bitch about a penalty that was actually holding and would have resulted in the same thing?

You need to get a life and stop the crying already. Let's review the facts:
1. OSU's defense absolutely destroyed your offense.
2. Miami should have never even been in OT against OSU. On OSU's last possession in regulation Gamble was held twice on 3rd and 3 and it wasn't called. They were both BLATANT holds/PI.
4. Gamble still caught that pass inbounds but was ruled out.
5. Miami benefitted from a PI call in OT and had 5 shots at the endzone and couldn't convert.
NOT a championship caliber

Whoever made this video is a dumbass. That was the most obvious pass interference call ive ever seen.
saintjoeflyer 1 year ago
After mutliple reviews of this call the officials and NCAA all agree there was facemask AND defensive holding. Both result in a first down. Get over it, it was a good call. 9/11 in the shoe, OSU's defense will own miami.

Thanks for the vid, but from a person who has rarely watched college football, I can't tell anything from these screenshots. They'd be fine if you're reliving memories, but that's about it.

Mixb 1mp213 is right there was a blown call when chris gamble caought it in regulation when they ruled him out of bounds when he was in bounds

actually number 1 WAS A CORRECT CALL AND THERE WAS ABOUT 2 OTHER PENALTIES ON THE PLAY!
whiplash2343 1 year ago
I'd disagree with the PI no call on the LSU/Auburn game.. can't have PI on a tipped pass receivers are fair game.. ball is clearly tipped 5 yards in front of the receiver.. if not tipped.. it's PI
absolutely not one of the worst ever either way heck it's not even the most arguable call in that rivalry as I think the "Over the top" penalty on the extra pt in 2004 was dicey at best and that DID change the outcome as that was the game winning point
DeaconAU 1 year ago
What about the blown call where the refs called the OSU receiver out of bounds when he was in that gave Miami the opportunity to tie. No one wants to talk about that?

I can't see how people can call the fifth down a "Bad Call" Colorado did not receive an extra shot at scoring because of it.
1) Spike
2) Run
3)Run
4) Spike
5) Run
If the first spike is counted, the second spike doesn't occur because they know its fourth down. So it still would have come down to Missouri needing to stop one more play by CO, which is what happened in the game.

Touche canes fans, touche.

QuesCandi 1 year ago
@QuesCandi They must not teach math at "the whU?". Ohio state has more first round draft picks historically than most Div I teams (don't talk about the USC, i hate those phucks.) And as for our "lack of talent in the pros"? Orlando Pace, Eddie George, Cris Carter, Mike Nugent (yeah, hes a kicker, but he's still THE NUGE!"), Terry Glenn.
name your 5. and leave Cokie McSnortfuck Michael Irvin out.
bassist053 1 year ago
@bassist053 Micheal Irving vs. Chris Carter= M.I.) Andre Johnson vs.Santonio Holmes=A.J.) Reggie Wayne vs. Chris Gamble=R,W.) Frank Gore vs. Chris Wells=F.G.) OSU can't compete with the U, SO STOP! I can name a host of others but i ran out of OSU talent you should thank the hurricanes for giving OSU that national championship because that's what happened, your team needed help!
QuesCandi 1 year ago

@bassist053 dude miami has supplied more talent then that in just one draft class alone. Mike Nugent??? lmao, thats where your list ends but as for Miami the list goes on and on and on and on

@QuesCandi and more to the point!!! Still have the only two time heisman winner ever (so close Tim, so close) , and we've been averaging 11-2 for the last 7 years while the Hurrilames are doing around an 8-4 over the same period.

"The miami hurricanes have had nothing to be proud of for the last 8 seasons."
bassist053 1 year ago
@bassist053
miami has been nothing short of mediocre since then. thanks to larry coker and another mediocre head coach in randy shannon. also due to urban meyer stealing many of our recruits and the new tendencies for people like lane kiffin who pay recruits. so yes. miami has been very mediocre and until they even get to an ACC championship game thats what they will be branded as. ill be in columbus for the game, but i fully expect a 45-14 ohio state win.
bringtheOBback 1 year ago
@bringtheOBback miami will win every is favored for miami to destroy ohio state
mlgxjoey 1 year ago
@bassist053 I got no problem admitting that we've been mediocre since 2003. And you can throw out Ohio State's BCS record all you want, but we have just as many BCS titles as you, and FOUR more national titles since 1970. Miami also has more NFL pro bowlers than a lot of entire conferences do. So I can't say we have nothing to be proud of.
Oh and for the Randy haters on here: Don't you DARE try to hop back on the bandwagon when we beat tOSU and go undefeated this year. Fags.
Hworth8 1 year ago
Give us the crystal football. We have been mediocre. No fighting the facts in either case.

Canesnumber1stunner 1 year ago
@bassist053
Nothing to be proud of there.
dudeitssam3 1 year ago

The problem isn't the call it's the fact that Miami should have rolled in that game and instead let Ohio State gain confidence and, subsequently, lost the game.
kperry316 1 year ago
I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I do think a reason the Umpires Association made that statement was because they didn't want any more fallout from football fans. It was their way of saying, we support this man. There's also the fact that talking heads in the media hate the University of Miami. I can't make a long list of examples, but if you saw "The U" you should know what I'm talking about. Miami is hated by many, and I think many people in the media were glad to see the call made.
bringtheOBback 1 year ago 3
@bringtheOBback The media hates The U? No chance. Ohio State seems to be the team everyone loves to hate. Especially the media. Mark May, Kirk "Iscariot" Herbstreit, Brent Musberger, Desmond Howard etc.
