nvidia geforce 9200 graphic card(driver up to date)
3GB ram
its a new comp only got last week but havng fps problems wit bad company 2 feels rly slow when im aiming and done everythin u said any ideas wat cud be wrong?
@Tree7rog Yeah, I've got the drivers. My computer actually runs pretty well (on low) when the maps aren't very damaged or when there is a low ammount of players. I bought a Quad Core Phenom II @ 3 Ghz, but it turns out HP lied about my motherboard when they said it would be compatible.. so I need $100 for a motherboard that supports the 125W versions of Phenom II processors. (Tried updating Bios too).I'd also like to get one with a PCI 2.0 slot for best GTS 250 performance.. I have x16 slot.
the renderaheadlimit setting and max pre-rendered frames in the control panel are completely different things so you are just spouting false information. basically you are telling people to turn off some graphics featuers thereby increasing the framerate so the stutters are less severe.
@ARGH28 They are not different things to my knowledge and I believe I stated that my goal was to get the game playable under DX10, I never promised to do so without disabling graphics features. Please keep your criticism constructive
there is no difference between dx9 and dx10 in this game. dx10 is only there to allow AA and HBAO otherwise it is visually identicle. the DX10 render path is not ready for primetime in the game yet and it's ironic since the game was build upin dx10 and they later added dx9 render path.
the micro stutters are a problem with their rendering engine and need to be addressed.
i am just telling you the truth and don;t want to burst your bubble or anything, sorry.
basically, you should not be playing under DX10 unless you enable HBAO or AA. if you keep these off it's best to stick with DX9 as that gives 50% boost in framerate over DX10 and helps combat the stutters.
For example turn off all the extras and then go play any of the maps with snow in DX10, then DX9, the trees are rendered completely differently (Very ugly in DX9), so if they are identical besides the addition of AA/HBAO why is there a visual disparity?
what do you mean turn off the extras? here try this, HBAO and AA off, everything else set it to high. in the same exact spot take a screenshot with dx9 and dx10 and compare the pics side by side, you will not see any difference at all. just try it.
Thats simply not true. I will post comparison pictures later today.
Secondly you say the game was built in DX10 and DX9 was added later but it was built for console and ported which means that is incorrect (Consoles not supporting DX10)
it was built for consoles first but then path they chose to port this to pc was DX10. it is supposed to run as good or better under dx10 than dx9 but this is not the case. the product is not finished for PC and it may never be unless the pc sales are strong.
Ok thanks for comment - I'll edit that into the info - heard that elsewhere and in conjunction with everything else it helps, guess I fell for the placebo effect
I just played my first stable game on a busy server thanks to this video. Thank you!

@PissedAssasin717 Switch to DX9 it will drastically improve your framerate
Tree7rog 2 years ago
@Tree7rog I've been using it :)
PissedAssasin717 2 years ago
Whats your hardware? You hoping to get a higher fps or is that to be expected?
Tree7rog 2 years ago
@Tree7rog Eh.. GTS 250 1024MB, X2 7550 @ 2.5 ghz, 3GB Ram.v
PissedAssasin717 2 years ago
@PissedAssasin717 Ouch thats dissapointing you should be able to get that onto high Dx9 at the very least smooth on medium.
I take it your up to date on drivers? (I hate to ask because its patronising but if we can eliminate that perhaps we can try solve it)

@ARGH28 Not true. I get at least a 10 FPS difference
PissedAssasin717 2 years ago
If that is the case why does DX9 yield such a huge increase in framerate?
Also to my eye there is a significant difference between the Visuals in DX10 and 9 even if you turn off HBAO and AA in DX10.

the dpi settings has to do with text not your mouse dpi. this step is completely useless.
a quick google will tell you exactly what it does.
