  • Great video!

  • First off the basic instruction is good. It is good that Lion Brand is a sponsor for this web-video. However, the two of you don't really seem to like each other and it gives the video a tensed up feeling. Perhaps you should find someone else to work with or work alone. Mainly I am talking to the girl who is on my left wearing the darker sweater, you just seem very stiff about letting the other girl do anything in the video and it speaks of OCD (move that post it note right back).

  • One more question -- as the pattern does not specify to slip stitch purlwise (and I would not have known this if I hadn't seen the video -- thanks!) should ALL slip stitches be purlwise throughout?

  • @pian0r0se Yes, unless otherwise specified in a slip stitch knitting pattern, stitches should always be slipped purlwise so they don't end up becoming twisted stitches.

  • It took a little while for me to get the simplicity of this line of the slip stitch pattern -- I was looking for something too difficult! However, I also had trouble with line 5 -- do you insert the needle under the long strand from beneath (point up) or from above (point down)? I've practiced the pattern twice now, and by Row 6 I have an extra stitch on my needle, so I'm going back for 3rd time from beginning, with "practice" scrap yarn, and less multiples of 4 until I get it!

  • @pian0r0se Put your needle under the strand from front to back. You'll want to pick up the loop to create an inverted V that lies flush with the fabric. If that's what it looks like, you're on the right track.

  • THANK YOU!! I can't seem to memorize all the stitches in knitting and sometimes need to see someone demonstrate. This video was very helpful! I have used Knitting Daily videos in the past and they are wonderful!! THANK YOU!!

  • It would be grand if there was a demonstration for line 5 of the two color pattern. I tried and it looks nothing like the example pic....I will keep trying though.

  • @jcsreader Sorry we don't have a video for that, but I know what you mean. That line is tricky. The trick in this line is that the idea when you pick up the long loop is to create an inverted V of yarn with that picked up section. You'll want to pick it all the way up onto your needle so that it lies flush with the fabric, and then you'll continue to work the row. Once you get it, the rest of the row should go pretty quickly. Hope that helps!

  • This is going to be my next hobby....still learning to crochet.

  • @tashamont When you're ready, don't forget to check out the lionbrandyarn channel -- we've got great learn-to-knit videos!

  • @LionBrandYarn Thanks! I'll make sure I check those videos out.
