  • I wish I'd seen this at the time it came out. Marcotte's foam-mouthed, tooth-gnashing rhetoric might have made me stop being a liberal sooner.

Unfortunately, Michelle, the only difference between you and Amanda (other than your respective religious and political views) is that you are quite entertaining. You are every bit as rigid and vitriolic in your views as Amanda is in hers.

  • Michelle, today is April 18th, 2011 and I just was introduced to Amanda F**cotte. Man is she a total a-hole

  • As painful as it is, John Edwards still has a higher approval rating that Dick Cheney...

  • whos amanda marcotte???

  • u r a total moron

  • Michelle Malkin is a ping pong ball queefing whore.

  • I notice that most people who disagree with Malkin rely on such arguments.

  • Vagina dentata.

  • Comment removed

  • >is she implying that gang rape isn't really so bad

In the Duke case, it didn't happen, so that's irrelevant.

  • Wait, so when Michelle reads about the Duke rape sarcastically, is she implying that gang rape isn't really so bad?

    And why the double-censorship?

  • uhh she's reading a quote of what "Marcotte" said in her blog...

  • lol i love the ending!! :P

  • Michelle Malkin rules. Screw the liberals and there anti american non thinking processes.

  • Wow, that is... I'm gonna go with a mixture of gore and painful heavy-handedness.

Whoever convinced Malkin that she is funny? Who, by god, told her that the close shot of the mouth was a good idea? Blarghh! The horror...

It was probably some relative. If you're reading this, relative in question, you are not doing Malkin any favor. Next time, go with the honest opinion. It may hurt a bit, but it pays off in the long run. It spares her the humiliation and us the freak show.

  • 4:05 is the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

It will haunt me in my sleep.

  • How is that impeachment process coming along?

  • who is this stupid boring bitch?

  • you're very ugly

  • Michelle Malkin rules. We need more Kommie Killers.........

  • This woman is really unhappy or something.

Michelle Malkin is the single lowest guttersnipe in the current American media and needs to be ridden out of town on a rail.

I didn't vote for John Kerry. I'm not a liberal. But this woman is just foul and caters to nothing but low class trash and the basest, vilest human emotions.

She's disgusting trash and I'll never read another column of hers again, nor will I reccomend them.

  • "We have conclusive proof that it happened." -Amanda 'Cry Wolf' Marcotte on Duke Lacrosse

  • Is it me or is Amanda Marcotte a f&ckin' moron? I think she is!

  • Amanda Marcotte is the biggest f***ing moonbat imaginable.

  • @ROPdude

Awesome comment, Amanda Marcotte is one ugly, bitter hag, this is what happens if you hang out with libs and don't get laid

  • Be sure and spread the hate.

  • I hate to break it to you but Amanda Marcotte is a miserable, pathetic little guttersnipe who wouldn't know an intelligent thought if it smacked her upside her empty head.

  • Amanda Marcotte is just a patethic woman who has been known to be sexist (but it seems to be okay in her viewm because it is against men), a liar, and a demented bigot. She's one woman who I hope dies a spinster, because I don't want her to spawn.

Please, Amanda, go home, turn on the oven and put your head inside it.

You're as good to the world as another World War.

  • That's a pretty lousy Amanda Marcotte portrayal - her head didn't spin around nor did she vomit pea soup.

  • Aw, wook at the widdle prejudiced dailykos henchperson scared of a person who dares question your world viewpoint! Way to make assumptions. Hey, I must be a paid blogger by Faux News!

    fucktards.

  • Here's what I agree with you on, Michelle: the lacrosse players were innocent until proven guilty, and I doubt anybody in the administration anticipated Katrina until it was too late. Other than that...well, "fuck BushCo." I haven't bothered to count the times you and your ilk have accused your opposition of hating America, but something tells me that if I tallied it up, it would turn out that you throw around that accusation a lot more often than Marcotte.

  • OK, I was able to make it to the 3:16 mark. I'm aware of what she wrote as the Edwards campaign's blogmaster about Catholics and all that.

Here's my question: how is this stuff any worse than some of the shrill, hysterical rantings of people like Ann Coulter or, in fact, Malkin herself? People in glass houses, Michelle...

  • this is a disgrace...I [moderate democrate]fly the RED, WHITE AND BLUE with pride at my home.

  • Typical... more leftist and liberal scum spewing racist, sexist attacks against Malkin. You are what you hate, in fact, you are worse. Stop trying to tear the world down to your low level!

  • LOL Love it go michelle!

  • This is the most hilarious political sarcasm I've seen in some time! Sorry to see that my fellow commenters haven't yet reached the 51 mark on the IQ scale!!

  • Is Michelle Malkin actually becoming a colored women or is this some kind of sham?

  • Ah come on guys we shouldn't hate this hater she feeds off it. Shame the bitch it far more effective.

  • malkin is a 3rd rate media whore for the military industrial complex-stop wasting lives in Iraq for the war profiteers

  • Michelle Malkin is actually Strom Thurmond who time traveled from the past to do kabuki theater on TV and the net

  • HAHAHA!!! So nice to see Marcotte's hate speech put to video.

  • What does marcotte have to say regarding the dropping of the charges of the Duke players? My guess would be not much beyond a certain 4 letter word...

  • what a douchebag

  • Michelle Malkin, if you didnt have such a hot tail, you'd be intolerable...but youre hot and you probably look good in a teddy. Go republican cheerleader, go!

  • michelle malkin hot? damn skippy! she's hotter than two foxes fuckin' in a wool sock!

  • She is ridiculous -why she don't put a

    watermelon in the head? ridiculous...

  • dude, are you peta or what?

  • Malkin is one hot thizzang.

I don't like right wingers, they can't admit fault.

I can't stand left wingers, either. All that devil shit is scary.

Michelle wants to keep her analyst job on FOX, so she acts all right wing, but we know that hottie is a centrist.

  • She calls herself an independant conservative and may be a little more conservative than me. I think you are just re-inventing people for your own purpose. You want to believe people can't have views and must be forced. We are free. Keep your implied slavery elsewhere. Is that why you are a Bush hater? Are you being forced?

  • Thanks for the enlightenment, oh, phantom.

I now will throw these shackles off.

  • Malkin has the wit of a fourth grader. Her regular appearance on FOX speaks wonders about just how truly 'fair and balanced' they really are.

  • Hey tanbrolo, you left out "nazi." Isn't anyone who disagrees with you both a fourth grader or nazi, or worse. If you really want to be eloquent, why not try stupid or idiot. Those are all words that can safely be used to drive your point home when you lack the substance to formulate a logical rebuttal. I'm so sick of you bigoted left wing numb-nuts.

  • I'm not calling her a Nazi. Nor am I disagreeing with her. She's not making any arguments, so there's nothing to disagree with!! She's just taking someone's comments, word for word, and repeating them back. Textbook wit of a fourth grader. If you disgree with this, you must be a...nazi. (??)

  • You ass. She works with FOX, so do many LIBERALS like Jill Hall,Bernie Goldman,Kirsten Powers, Jane Fleming,Michael Brown,Alan Colmes. How many Conservatives work for MSNBC?

  • I don't know and I don't care. Bipartisanship is not Fox's strong suit. If you disagree with this, maybe you should bitch on Youtube about it.

  • I think they don't represent us enough and I'm not a full out conservative. Fox needs at least another network like it vs all the other left/democrat biased ones.

  • She appears with Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers almost every time. Nice try but do your homework next time.

  • Here's some homework for you: Malkin is a stupid bitch.

  • And you of course are your everyday common bitch.

  • You are an angry unhappy person who likes to throw baseless accusations and insults at people you know nothing about.

But to clear up your misconceptions:

Isreal has a right to exist, despite what Nazis or Muslims have to say about it.

Lying under oath is against the law.

Kerry is "Unfit For Command" according to many he served with.

    Bush was not a deserter.

    Gannon? How about Gary Studds?

  • Marcotte is a nut job and Edwards is an empty suit political lightweight. They deserve each other.

  • RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT

  • Link.Think.Wake up.Show up.

    and wake up others....

    terrorpets google it :D

  • I would like to see a return to more productive and civil discourse.

I am actually more ultra right wing than most conservatives, but responding to juvenile rhetoric with more juvenile rhetoric is a lot like dropping a bomb on a house to ensure it isn't razed by fire.

The point is to save the house and put out the fire, not out do the fire.

Its disheartening to see the political process devolve into one liner popularity contests. All because people don't investigate issues.

  • Are all conservatives so spiteful? Or is it just a self promotion branding exercise?

I wish you well, however try and see that your "pundits" may struggle in front of a mirror also ;)

  • Spiteful? Here's what cute little Amanda wrote to me: Truly, sincerely, fuck off. And this was after I'd congratulated her on getting a venue (Salon) to rant. Are all liberal such hypocrits?

  • Maybe spiteful is too harsh, I thought originally full of hate but toned it down. Maybe I should tone it down again, is there a word for petty anger?

Who are you? Did you write her an email/post, or something? What else did you write in that? Only a complete tool would say fuck off to a congratulations.

How can she be a "hypocrit" (sic) ? I am the one who said spiteful. Peace.

  • I am freaking in love with Michelle Malkin. I was laughing almost to the point of tears at her impressions of amanda. Oh how wonderful...

  • The mirror does shatter when when placed in front of a liberal.

    Bravo, Michelle!

  • Michelle is great. It's really great to hear her refreshing way of bring these videos to us. Enlighten those liberal left wing loon wacko nut cases! Go Michelle!

  • Michelle, I loved the happy, nice blogger routine in the end!

  • michelle I LOVE YOU, no im not a daranged fan, ive liked your no-nonsence approach at the dems, get em where it hurt, and thats with the truth

  • I'd hit it like NASA shooting probes at comets.

  • what's up with that hat. and I think the Amanda was absolutely right.

  • Why is Michelle so worked up about this absolute nobody? Marcotte is the gum under the toilet seat in a condemned meth house. Michelle, you're smart and you're a total (censored) babe. Spend your time on better targets than that loser Marcotte.

  • I would do Michelle Malkin.

  • Sorry, that would require something you may not possess.

  • Michelle, jealousy is such an ugly emotion. Please keep it in check, honey.

  • Michelle is not the one who pawned herself off to the Edwards campaign. Nor is she the one who got unceremoniously dumped.

Do you seriously suggest anyone on the planet is jealous of Amanda Marcotte?

Personally, I am disappointed she got fired. I was looking forward to a year or so of ongoing comedy.

  • Haha, Malkin just wishes that she was legitimate enough to be hired by a major campaign. Oh, and "pawned herself off"? Marcotte didn't go and fling herself at them like a prostitute; they ASKED her to join.

  • Someone clearly was not thinking in this case. Do you imagine she did some full disclosure thing and revealed all they needed to know about her? You know, to avoid mutual embarrassment? Like, the embarrassment that actually developed?

So, I think "pawned herself" is a reasonably accurate term, given what we now know about the matter.

But feel free to defend her. Or Edwards. Or someone equally foolish.

  • I'm defending Marcotte. Edwards was the one who made the mistake here. He shouldn't have hired her without reading her weblog first, and doing so was complete idiocy. So really, I don't see how "pawned herself" applies at all. She deceived no one.

  • Of course Malkin doesn't work for the Edwards campaign; she is unemployable by ANY campaign. Look at the video again and ask yourself WHO would be stupid enough to employ her (besides O'Reilly)?

I don't understand Malkin's obsession with Marcotte. However, when I see Malkin make a complete ass of herself to try to "get" Marcotte, there's not much doubt about what motivates the kamikaze attack: jealousy. Apparently Malkin will do anything for attention. Sad.

  • Uhhh...I would say that Marcotte got herself, wouldn't you? And one highly amusing satirical piece is "obsession"? C'mon, give MM credit; she only used Marcotte's own words to damn the bitch! Get real.

  • Illogical. If Marcotte "got herself," why is Malkin screeching and generally making a fool of herself instead of letting Marcotte's words speak for themself. The truth is that Malkin's obsession with Marcotte runs so deep, she's posted two of these idiotic performances. Get a clue.

  • People like you are always complaining of censorship, while attempting to censore others.

We must never, ever censor the Left. We need to know exactly who they are and what they think.

Now, we have on record, DarryRevok admires Fidel Castro and Kim Jong Il.

  • I can see it at the top of the RNC digest tomorrow: "ANONYMOUS YOUTUBE ANTI-MALKINITE ADMITS TO ADMIRING CASTRO AND JONG-IL: 'VIRTUALLY GUARANTEES' VICTORY IN 08, SAYS PRESIDENT".

  • Oh my! No, much subtler than that.

We just like to know who you are and what you are thinking.

  • I don't like Michelle Malkin either, but boasting about being mentioned in wikipedia for flagging a bunch of her videos is fairly sad.

  • I'm sure you do. And how does Fidel fit into the picture? Kim Jong Il?

  • They clearly aren't identical beings, but, other than the obvious condition that men impregnate women and women give birth to babies, there's no reason they should have different roles in the world. Flippancy... you think mere flippancy towards a religion should be grounds for firing someone? If so, there are an awful lot of people who've been less than totally reverential of Islam that you should be concerned about...

  • Woman and men have major physical and psychological differences; women are not simply men with wombs. Just as children, young adults, and the elderly must all have different social roles because of their differences so must women and men. Catholics believe that women are biologically incapable of performing sacraments. It's no one's say-so; the bread literally can only transubstantiate to flesh in the hands of a man. You probably think it's a crazy superstition but it's what we believe

  • Why do you believe that?

  • Why do I believe that men and women are psychologically different or why do I believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation?

  • Not why do you believe that the bread and wine literally become Christ's flesh and blood (though incidentally, I'd always wondered what precisely the scriptural source of dispute was between that and consubstantiation). Why do you believe that

  • "the bread literally can only transubstantiate to flesh in the hands of a man"? (sorry, comment got split up somehow)

  • Your post cut off! That dispute is over whether the substance of bread and wine remain present with the Body and Blood after consecration or just as "accidents". According the Catholic Encyclopedia, a major scriptural basis for transubstation is that Christ said "This is my body" rather than "The bread contains my body" or something to that effect. But since both doctrines admit the Real Presence, I'd say it's more of metaphysical dispute based on Tradition than a primarily scriptural dispute.

  • Flippancy grounds for firing? I think when you speak in public (as on the Internet under your own name) you should be able accept the consequences of those actions. John Edwards should be able to fire anyone he wants for whatever reason; it's HIS campaigne. And if I publicly said, "Allah is a demon who drove the heathen hordes to invade Christendom and attack the One, True Faith" I wouldn't expect to last long on, say, the Giuliani campaigne.

  • Yes, but firstly, that's significantly worse than what Marcotte said about Christianity. Secondly, while obviously Edwards can fire whoever he wants on his own campaign, I'm speaking rhetorically: you've expressed approval over the loss of Marcotte, and explained your approval partially by saying that she was "flippant" about your beliefs. I'm just asking if flippancy is really that blasphemous to you.

  • Is it worse to call Allah a demon than it is to dismis Christianity out of hand as misogynist, saying the Church hates women, etc.? The Muslims under the caliphate DID try to conquer Christendom (and Persia) in the 7th and 8th centuries so the core of it is my view of the historical truth, much as Marcotte's is. "Mythology" was flippant and dismissive, the "misogyny" charge calumnious, and the semen bit blasphemous. But why would you care if it's blasphemous against what you take to be fiction?

  • Genuine, non-rhetorical question: am I misreading what you wrote, or are you saying that because the caliph tried to conquer Christendom thirteen or fourteen hundred years ago, Allah can legitimately be called a demon? Because if so, wow. If not, never mind. But I'd say it is most definitely worse: Satan-worshipping is definitely a more evil practice than misogyny. (Of course, Islam has its own problems in that department...)

  • No. I don't know where Mohammed got what he put down in the Koran, though I don't believe it was from God. Theoretically, he could have been talking to a demon disguised as an angel, but that's conjecture. I think he was probably "talking to himself". Yes, Satan-worship is more evil than misogyny, but the point I was making was that when someone says something publicly they should keep in mind possible consequences for what they say.

  • Since straight people won't marry their own gender even if gay marriages are legal, you're quite wrong.

  • You're always hovering around Malkin's videos calling her all sorts of racist and sexist names. I would posit that you're the hateful one here.

  • Wow dude. Michelle never proclaimed love for internment camps, nor is her husband a ghost writer. For you to go further in your fantasies and claim that she is "the American Taliban" shows me that /you/ are as "dumb as they come".

  • You are aware, I hope, that she wrote a book entitled "In Defense Of Internment"?

  • Dude, you seriously need to read her book.

  • I read Michelle Malkin's divisive screed "In Defense of Internment". There are really no words to describe how bad this book is, from both a moral view and a journalistic fact-checking view. She calls herself a journalist, but she is instead just another pundit. This video shows her at face level; a high-school IQ and temperament to match.

  • Well, "operamindcrime" hasn't been profane or irrational. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to spend so much time arguing with him/her.

  • Thank you, I appreciate it. And I'm a him.

  • What if I hold a woman's right to get an abortion sacred? What if I hold gay peoples' right to get married sacred? But you don't care about whether or not people are "uncivilized and rude" about THOSE sacred beliefs, do you? It's only the Church that matters, only when talking about the Church that everyone has to be so careful not to be unkind about other peoples' beliefs. You hypocrite.

  • I don't know about "quiz1" but I care if people are uncivilized and rude ALL the time, ESPECIALLY if they're people on my side, because that only reflects badly on my position. However, what is sacred and what isn't sacred is an objective thing.

  • OldCottage - please extend some charity here. The wonky set-up of YouTube apparently doesn't allow replies to be attached directly to the comment.

I was replying to your quote:

"blasphemously comparing the Holy Ghost to semen" and yes I find this behavior typical of leftists in general.

  • Oh dear. I'll be sure to tell all the comrades to be more polite during the next meeting. (Incidentally, do you feel the same way about people who say similarly colourful things about Islam?)

  • It depends. Are they speaking *truthfully*? I don't find truthful comments harmful. One may not like to hear it or to have it exposed but the truth should never be feared. Now if it's meant to be derogatory or is racist then of course I take exception.

But to fill your curiousity I have little patience for radical Islam and find it a serious threat. Doesn't mean I *hate* Muslims, because I don't.

  • I'm not referring to radical Islam, about which I share your views, and I'm by no means accusing you of hating Muslims. I'm merely saying - if someone compared Mohammed or Allah to semen, would that disturb you, and would you judge it "uncivilized and rude", in the same way you do about the Holy Ghost?

  • Sure - I appreciate the fact that Muslims hold Mohammed as sacred. I don't think their beliefs though should silence secular discussion though ie the cartoon controversy.

  • I was responding to operamindcrime's statement "you don't care about whether or not people are 'uncivilized and rude' about [my] beliefs" by saying that I, personally, don't think ANYONE should be uncivilized and rude. I said "I don't know about 'quiz1'" because I didn't want to presume to speak for you.

  • Oh I'm sorry - my bad. Thanks.

  • I'm glad you assume to know so much about me without ever having met me. In fact, you assumed that I had no notion why the Church resisted those things not because you'd got it from the "source" - me - but because your right-wing echo-chamber friends and sources told you that all liberals think like you assume I do. Which, by your own definition, makes you a follower of ideology rather than an intellectual.

  • Touche - *rolls eyes*. I can obviously tell you know absolutely nothing of why the Church teaches these things or else you wouldn't be so blatently bigoted against the Church.

  • I'm not "bigoted" against the Church, I just have serious problems with its ideology. I have nothing at all against Catholics unless they try to push the parts of their belief system that I find objectionable on me. The fact is, the Church doesn't let women be priests for the reason that they ARE women. In other words, they use sex as a qualifier. Whatever religious reasons lie behind it, that's very sexist.

  • Again, "in persona Christi". A priest acts in the "person of Christ" when performing the Church's sacraments where the priests acts in Jesus's person. Women aren't men. It is not bigoted to acknowledge that fact.

  • And priests aren't Jesus. I was under the impression that women and men were supposed to be equal in Christ anyway?

  • Yes they are - when performing those sacraments of consecration and reconcilliation they are acting in the person of Jesus through what is called apostolic succession.

We all are equal in Christ, you are correct. But just as men can't give birth, women can't act as a man in the person of Jesus. It is not bigoted to say that men cannot have babies. We are equal, but we also are different and complementary to each other.

  • I understood the priest was a symbol for Jesus rather than Jesus himself. Please tell me if I'm wrong. And the baby business strikes me as irrelevant, since there's nothing that biologically prevents a woman from performing sacraments.

  • Not a symbol, but mystically IS Jesus when performing the sacraments. So, as Jesus was a male, the priest performing the sacraments as Jesus is a male as well. We can't ignore that we are both spiritual AND physical beings. Women just can't be priests. The Church doesn't have the authority to change that. They CAN be involved in ministry, in fact, two of the twelve (i think) doctors of the Church are women.

  • Because, except for Mike Malloy, it had nothing worth listening to? I mean, I like Al Franken a lot, but his radio show was not very good.

  • Nothing worth listening to on Liberal radio? I could not have put it better myself.

  • No, just on Air America. Well, there isn't NOTHING worth listening to - Mike Malloy and, sometimes, Randi Rhodes - but by and large it's quite disappointing.

  • coocoo! coocoo! coocoo!

  • What a nut.

  • Thank goodness she quite!!!

  • Quite what?

  • She quit the campaign.

  • wow, what an incredible waste of my time -- kept waiting for the point (uh, that you can make pissy blogs sound outrageously angry?). Or, is there some deeper generalization that this is supposed to support? I have one: there a certain sort of person (you fill in which sort) that can't read disagreeable prose without launching into a mocking tirade. Take this video for example,... please

  • Regardless of the intent behind the word's use, the fact is that according to its definition, Christianity and all other religions ARE mythologies, and would be even if they were also true. And the Vatican expressly refuses to recognize women priests, BECAUSE they're women. That's quite clearly a sexist view, regardless of the reasoning behind it.

  • I really do not like this woman.

  • Juvenile, sleazily overwrought response to a blogpost that aparently casts aspersions on ms. malkin's Leader and favorite newsfilter channels. Don't wsate your time here.

  • pilgrim, I agree completely, we of the liberal braintrust only need concern ourselves with the highest of intellectual causes, like finding that elusive vast right wing conspiracy, protecting trees and advancing the noble cause of socialism. Anything else, like that terrorism rumor, just does not rise to the level of our radar. Spread the word, Comrade!

  • And people wonder why there aren't many conservative comedians.

  • That is good, and so are the countries in Europe doing. The anger i talked about was people like O'Reilly and Olbermann, and people on youtube calling arabs sand niggers. The unjust and uncalled for hatred against people they never met. You have a valid point. I would be very interested in reading your view on why Ms. Marcotte is harmful. /Michael

  • I have never heard O'Reilly use that term, ever. Do you have a show date and time? Or a clip or transcript?

I don't normally defend O'Reilly, but this is outrageous.

  • No, O'Reilly never used that term. Re-read. But i'm glad you think its outrageous.

  • On the other hand, O'Reilly DID use the term "wetbacks".

  • I think there's justification for anger, as in righteous anger, and I don't think it's fair to compare that to just plain bigotry and racism, which Christianity denies. Many people on the right are rightfully angry about the treatment given conservatives and their ideals.

As for Marcotte's view on the "rights" of women, I'd be happy to discuss.

  • Just as there is justification for righteous anger about the Catholic Church's social positions, and it's unfair to compare THAT to just plain bigotry and racism.

  • "Social" positions? The Church is the largest provider of "social justice" in the world. I think you mean the Church's teachings on human sexuality, which you so obviously disagree. Women priests? Have you ever heard of "In persona Christi"?

  • Sexual issues count as social issues. In persona Christi... that's where the priest acts as Christ during sacraments, correct?

  • I will never understand how it is that americans are so full of hate and anger. Not only to people in other countries, but to each other. You are quick to blame others in the cruelest ways, for what is happening, why it is happening, and it seems as if it always somebody else's fault. It seems as Amanda Marcotte has been criticizing the church and standing up for women issues. Even if that would be wrong, in a democracy, it must be right. I just wonder if being kind is something bad in America.

  • Yes, I'm angry when someone spreads falsehoods about my religion, describing it as "mythology" used to justify "misogyny", saying the Church cares about women only as bearers of more "tithing Catholics", blasphemously comparing the Holy Ghost to semen. I'm angry not because I'm American, but because I'm a Catholic Christian. Americans always blame others for everything? Meanwhile, the rest of the world has nothing better to do but blame and bash America, ever resentful of the "king of the hill".

  • All religions are mythology. Whether you believe them or not, they're mythology. The Bible could be 100% true and it'd still be mythology. The Catholic Church hasn't exactly been at the forefront of the women's rights movement. Non-Christians have no obligation not to blaspheme. And you seem to think that all non-Americans just sit on their asses all day, bitching about America. You're wrong.

  • You and I must have very different definitions of "mythology". You think Marcotte wasn't saying that the Gospel accounts were fiction? And not being invovled in the "women's right movement" makes one a "misogynist"? Pinpoint how the Church hates women. Why do persist in saying that what Marcotte said wasn't insulting when anyone can see it was and was intended to be? And while I was over-generalizing, there is a great deal of envy and resentment towards America in other countries.

  • my·thol·o·gy - noun - a set of stories, traditions, or beliefs associated with a particular group or the history of an event, arising naturally or deliberately fostered. There's nothing in there that necessitates fiction. The Church is sexist because it's virulently anti-choice, refuses to recognize women priests, and comes from a sexist tradition (Tertullian?). And yeah, Marcotte was insulting, but that doesn't make her bigoted.

  • Fine, but you can deny the inflammatory, negative connotation of word as used by Marcotte. "The Church is sexist because it's ...anti-choice, refuses to recognize women priests..." You're defining all these terms; I might as well say "Liberals are heathens because they're godless babykillers." Tertullian? Sadly became a heretic.

  • Inflammatory, negative connotation of which word? By "anti-choice" I mean that the Vatican doesn't believe a woman has the right to choose to have an abortion. By "refuses to recognize women priests" I mean, well, more or less exactly what I said. That's Vatican policy. I don't understand what you mean by "You're defining all these terms".

  • That's like bragging about being a friend of Hugo Chavez.

  • Republican's have been far from fiscally responsible.

  • Well, certainly the spending has been irresponsible, especially the Medicare Part D business. But it is hard to imagine Democrats spending less, don't you think?

On the other hand, revenue is way up, and the deficit is dropping even faster than the optimistic predictions made at the time of the 2003 tax rate cut.

This, in the face of the recession invoked by Clinton's dot-com bust, plus 9/11 and two wars. Not bad, when you think about it.

So, overall Republicans win by a mile.

  • I see the humorous intent, sadly it fails to impress.

This Malkin video is the perfect example. I try very, very hard to see the humor in this, but alas... cannot see it. It's just vitriol. Hate-filled bloviation with no content. Malkin is trying to be ironic; instead she is just being idiotic.

  • Who is this Amanda Marcotte ? I did a goggle search and the most significant thing I found was a screaming banshee slamming on a computer. Was that her ?

  • Darryl) I'd be embarassed too...It's about time you lib-o-wackos saw your party for what it is...The true party of hate...

  • Did you just call Michelle an "Oreo"? Wow.... I mean.... WOW! Not only are you an agry bigot... but you can't even get ur racist remarks correct. Please go to your sink, open the cabinet underneath it, and ingest any and all liquids you find. Have a nice day :)

  • But you see, I don't see the issue as "marginalizing gays". I look at this from an entirely differently perspective. I look at the fact that the society that created everything I hold dear has ALWAYS had a marital institution, which has ALWAYS been monogamous male-female (yes, even before Christianity). The fact that a fraction of people, for whatever reason, claim sexual preference for those of the same sex is not, to me, enough justification to change this.
