  • MIKE IS MIKE BUT I REALLY LOVE THE WAY PIPPEN PLAYED THE GAME AND HE DESERVE A LOT OF CREDIT....THOSE WERE THE GOOD YEARS. AFTER THAT THE NBA MEANS NOTHING FOR ME...

  • Pippen wasn't even close to the best defensive player of all time what about Bill Russell? Ever heard of him? He's the reason they say defense wins championships

  • @kmart72518 You can't compare them because they played different positions, but Pip was the best perimeter defender of all-time.

  • @joeyyowee but the thing is he wasnt. Pippen got credit for doing absolutely nothing. how many ring does he have that jordan didnt win for him? oh thats right. goose egg

  • @kmart72518 we can say the same thing for jordan. mj didnt win any rings without pippen either. C'mon man, all of us know that pippen and jordan are awesome, more like equal, just respect that!

  • Pip or MJ. It dont matter their both legends!!!!!!!! There the makers of real basketball!

  • :21 mike told him he was going left!

  • XD

    .-_"

  • Btw Jordan hadn't played basketball for a year and a half and still destroyed pippen.

  • @mraaron81 believe me he was playing basket

  • Why didn't you show the rest of the video ?? Because Jordan dropped 55 on pippen

  • lebron fuckin travelled

  • i wonder if they're still friends after pippen made the comment that lebron is better than mj

  • @samtheman7975

    he took it back lol

  • Honestly This was Showdown of the Decade imo. Two of the best who never really got to play each other in their primes

  • pips dope. i wouldn't say best defensive player of all time. michael cooper all day son. and i'm a HUGE scottie pippen fan.

  • I think it's awesome how the players are just watching the two of them lol

  • Y smh? Pippen is only not nown because of the great MJ is Scottie was on any other team we would all say wow but because he was wit the GOAT he looked a little more the avg.

  • scottie pippens defense was amongst the tops

  • Dont know why people dont like pippen, come on this guy so versatile on the court. Maybe not to others but he made to my top defenders...(excluding Lebron)XD

  • @REGN19 people don't like him because he is an asshole...nothing to do with his game, i hope.

  • @REGN19 they don't like him cuz he is a bitch ass nigga and asshole!

  • Im glad garbage ass Scottie exposed that broke as fake turn fadeaway jumper that the refs allowed him to just milk like that. Greatest my ass.

  • B.S. all the way!

  • This video is misleading considering that MJ scored 50+ points in that charity game while he was still in retirement.

  • i think both times he fouled him definitely the second clip

  • @MrJpk741

    Obviously you're kidding....right?

  • /watch?v=E8i7XovfquQ&feature=related

    much better video...

  • yea dude ur a tard if u think pip isnt in the top 20??? how about best defender of all time, shut down bird, magic, shaq, penny, grant hill, every new york knick, etc. etc. Where have u been, pluto??

  • you would have to be foolish to think pippen is not one of the greatest defenders. he guarded the opposing teams best player 7/10 games and still managed to score while taking a back seat to jordan, how many players would be able to do that

  • ...Pippen isn't in the top 20 of all time great defenders. Come on man. Gary Payton was probably the best on ball defender of all time, or at least of the last 20 years.

  • @berzirk You don't get to talk anymore.

  • @upabittoolate You should have never started talking. Would've saved YouTube the database space.

  • @berzirk You know nothing about basketball. You don't get to talk anymore.

  • @upabittoolate Played organized ball for 15 years, coached for 8. I agree, you're a basketball scholar. Or just an idiot with a computer. I'm leaning towards the latter.

  • @berzirk So you played in a rec league. Big deal. You obviously don't know much about basketball if Pippen isn't a Top 20 defender.

But I love how YOU are the only 1 who played organized ball. I bet you rode the pine if you were on at team at all. Idiot... with a computer.

Don't bother responding. Like I said, you don't get to talk anymore.

  • @upabittoolate And your local YMCA gym experience means you've got some tremendous insight the rest of us lack? I certainly wasn't the star of my highschool team, was good enough to get invited to consider playing for a small D2 school, with no scholarship offer basically off of a couple of traveling tournament team apperances. It's entirely possible you can top that great career overview, but the fact that you think your stupid opinion is better than my stupid opinion shows what a goof you are.

  • @upabittoolate HAA HAA. How pathetic can you get? You cared enough about my opinion of Pippen as a defender to post "moron" on my page, then block me from commenting on yours? Jesus Christ man, the Internet is a better place with you on it. Adorable.

  • ahahah scotie can stop jordan no doubt.

  • Guys I am a big fan of MJ's Bulls. I almost cried when I saw this video of MJ and PIP not wearing the same uniform. Sad...

  • @juggernautjr023 It was a charity game.

  • @joeyyowee lmao

  • @joeyyowee I remember this video, This game was made during Michael first comeback. Jordan dominated this game and sure enough Scottie lost the game as expected!

  • @joeyyowee lmfao

  • @juggernautjr023 Get a grip...

  • @juggernautjr023 no neat to get a heart attack bro it's only charity

  • best offensive player vs best defensive player? Michael Jordan can't guard himself

  • nice matchup but pip isn't even close to being the best defender...that goes to a certain center...who coincidentally beat up both of them when they played, even had a better career record vs the bulls. but hey, mj's the goat i guess!

  • @pickzkickz No dude... Pip is the best defender, and he has the nba all defense first team 6 years in a row, just to back that up.

  • @SamoanSnorlax684 Dennis Rodman shortly behind Pippen

  • @ianmiscool6969 Thank you... some who knows what there talking about, yea i totally agree...

    1.Pippen

    2.Rodman

3.???(i cant really make up my mind about three...)

  • hahah on the second one the rest of the guys on the court there just like "fuck it lets just chill over till there done"

  • That's Crazy yo!

  • nice edting skills mate now show the real thing

  • dude these two were the best 1-2 punch in NBA history, scottie was a brilliant defender... jordan did score 53 points in this game though

  • /watch?v=E8i7XovfquQ&feature=related

  • @mrblend check the video description.

  • @joeyyowee no need to... just showing what you didnt.

  • the sharpest pike n the hardest shield

  • great one on one matchup

  • Scottie was an awesome defender. Helped that he practiced against the greatest offensive player in history. He was bound to become better.

  • Theres a video on the right with the a full clip of this game...i believe the one on top with 3 min 9 sec

  • I can't believe anyone would go out on a limb and discount Scottie at all, The BEST defender of his generation, hands down, BAR NONE. Michael Needed Scottie, Scottie needed Michael, Scottie is the Old Lebron James with less fanfare, Michael is the Old Kobe, less hate and internet speculation. Kobe was a great defender for like, 2 years, not for 10, and his 3 years getting to score behind Shaq? Over exaggerated by his big performances in the playoffs

  • those two are gods

  • Jordan taught him too well.

  • no wonder pippen had such good defense

  • You didn't bother to show all the other footage from this game where Jordan owned him...

And it was before Jordan actually came back for real; he wasn't even in basketball shape.

  • @hautelick and you didn't bother to read the video description.

  • What I would do to watch some of the old Bulls practices. This must have happened every day.

  • imao

  • what is this song! been trying to find it! anyone help me out?

  • @blincarwaves44 I typed in "Chicago Bulls Theme Song" and I found it.

  • @joeyyowee Thanks man, found it.

  • @blincarwaves44 Actually I think the real name of it is The Alan Parsons Project - Sirius

  • why are you gays arguing about dwyane wade, lebron and fucking kobe when they arent even in the fucking video

  • anyone who thinks LeBron is gonna take a back seat to wade is CRAZY just because lebron went to mia dont mean nothing he is still the best player on the heat LeBron is the number 1 option

  • They play against each other in practice everyday pippen knows everything Michael is gonna do

  • Pippen played well with Michael so well because he used his giant nose to smell his scent "ass juice." He liked it so much he spent a decadewith his head buried in Jordans' ass.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=E8i7XovfquQ

  • This is what happen ... .. HAHAHA.. , the first scene, ok.. but the second is the last shot and he got the foul and the two shots tzzzz.

Here you can see what's really happen in this Game and who is not just offence but defence against Pippen:P

  • can't wait to see Pip's statue next to MJ.

  • Some of the comments got me thinking...who in the NBA today is like Scottie Pippen? I really can't think of a single player to compare him to. A smaller, but smarter and tougher Lamar Odom? A mix of Tayshaun Prince and Josh Howard (2006) but better? Tough one... He was a defensive / glue-guy / facilitating 3 with a good offensive skill set who's tough enough to play the 4. I don't think there's anything like him in today's league.

  • Oh come on, I was at this event. You're making it look like Pippen got the best of Jordan. The second play was a foul and it was called a foul. Michael lit Scottie up and Scottie was in basketball shape at the time, Michael wasn't.

  • these clips are the reasons why they are on the same team..

  • kobe bryant is better than michael jordan and pippen

  • @actoman1 hahaha wow i cant beleive what are u saying dude , thats so stupid no one,,, either lebron, kobe, iverson, carter,t mac, even all then in they pride , not are even close to MJ

  • kobe is the best period. ever period.

  • kobe bryant is the greatest player to ever play this game, nubs.

  • @Chrisisballin stupid, plain and simple

  • pippen > lefraud all day

  • pippen is better than lebron

  • @Sogio90 Be realistic. Lebron is better.

  • @joeyyowee 0h please pipen is better maybe u r too young to have watch pipen live for pipen is a much better defender, just look at his steals stats.

  • @Bengetowutang He is the best perimeter defender of all-time, but that doesn't mean he's better than Lebron. Lebron kills him on offense.

  • @joeyyowee No the point is pipen will shut down lebron so lebron cant score and pipen will be able to score on lebron so pipen is better and more effective.

  • @Bengetowutang ONe on one yes but Lebron is the best offenseive player in the open court even better then jordan cuz of his unreal athleticism. But halfcourt perimeter defense Pipen could stop him more than lebron could score.

  • @Bengetowutang lebron would kill him on defense too tho. LEBRON should have went to the U.S.A team and win gold medals like nothing. and come back to u.s.a. and win mutaples championships with wade and bosh. i think you do learn aalot when you go play other teams from other countries. MY POINT IS LEBRON IS NASTY. lol

  • @Sogio90 Lebron already did that and he wasn't even that dominant during international competition. He won an olympic gold because of Kobe and he lost to Greece in 06 when he was paired with Wade and Bosh. Lebron and Wade also lost to Argentina in 04, but I won't blame them for that because they were still developing as players. I'm starting to think that Durant is becoming underrated and Lebron is becoming overrated even though I think Lebron is the best in the league right now.

  • @Sogio90 Dwayne Wade won the gold medal for LeBron and the rest of the USA Team.. he was the most important player on that team

  • @Bjammin1227 Him and Kobe were the main players. Lebron wasn't.

  • @joeyyowee yup

  • @joeyyowee lebron and kobe were the main players in the U.S.A team this is how it goes kobe , lebron , wade , carmelo , dwight howard. main 5 right there. when it comes to defense i think kobe dont have to much defense. lebron would kill him on that right now. Kobe still got 3 years left on him. but lebron got 13 years still on him... now hes team up with wade i dont really care about bosh. cus to be to be honest i think michael bisley is better than bosh.

  • @Bjammin1227 carmelo was really the beast for that team look it up like barkley really was the leading scorer for that 92 team

  • @joeyyowee That comment is almost contradictory. Defense is almost always credited as the most important factor for winning in basketball. Don't forget that Pippen also averaged a solid 20 points in his prime in a much tougher defensive era. I rarely state who is better than who, (except in the rare case of Michael Jordan being the best) but in Pippen's case, at the very least, I would set him equal to or better than LBJ.

  • @ReflectionEternal2 I don't buy the defense wins championships bs. You need to have defense to win a championship in the NBA, but if you gave me a choice between great offense and bad defense or horrible offense and great defense I'd take the former. Who would win in a game a team of Bruce Bowens or a team of Kevin Martins? I think a team of Martins would destroy them even though they'd suck at defense. I'm not saying Pippen sucked on offense. I'm just talking extremes to prove a point.

  • @joeyyowee We just have to agree to disagree. Defense is a much more consistent factor. Even Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan can have multiple inconsistent offensive games. On the other hand you can never have inconsistent defense if you're tenacious at every opportunity. How else did an aging BOS beat CLE and ORL, two top offensive teams? What about PHX vs LA? PHX was a much higher scoring team than LA. NY can score 100+ any given night, but they usually give up 110+. Defense is the backbone

  • @ReflectionEternal2 You misunderstood my post. I'm not saying that you don't need defense to win a championship. I'm just saying that if I had a choice between great defense and bad offense or bad defense great offense I'd take the offense. Jason Collins, Ben Wallace, Shane Battier, Bruce Bowen, and Eric Snow are all defensive specialists and they would probably have the worst record in the league if they played together even if all of them were in their primes.

  • @joeyyowee Ok, sorry. I did slightly misunderstand you, but I still would disagree. My thoughts are that in your scenario the DT would still get a substantial amount of stops on the OT while still being able to put buckets up against the OT's inferior defense. I've observed many times that its easier for bad offense to score on bad defense than it is for good offense to score on good defense.

  • @joeyyowee hear ya.

ON the other hand.... ain't ever been a dynasty team that had even GOOD defense. 60s Celtics, 80s Lakers & Celtics, 90s Bulls, 00s Kobe/Shaq Lakers all had tremendous D.

Awesome as he was, Pippen wasn't even the best D man on the Bulls. That would be the D GOAT Dennis Rodman

Only guys close to Rodman & Pippen to my view would be Clyde Frazier and Chamberlain back in the day, and maybe DJ in his prime

2 all time D players + MJ the 3rd scorer of all time? Not a bad team

  • @Vstrat0 Rodman was a great defender but it's difficult to compare him to Pippen because Pippen was mostly a perimeter defender. If you are talking about perimeter defense, I'd take Pippen over Rodman. In response to your other comment, I never said that you can win a championship in the NBA with only offense. I'm just saying that if I had to pick either great defense or great offense I'd take great offense. There hasn't ever been a championship team that had a horrible offense either.

  • @joeyyowee Ya fact. 2 different roles.

I'm a huge MJ fan but this is an important point. He was a great scorer but how do you call someone GOAT when they don't TRULY dominate OVERALL? It forces GOAT conversation to the C or F position automatically.

Great as MJ was, he can't be GOAT because e.g., Kareem, Dream & Chamberlain put up ALL ROUND numbers - scoring, AND rebounds, AND blocks, AND assists - MJ could never match.

So MJ = GREAT but he couldn't dominate every facet like they did.

  • @joeyyowee Lemme say first off before ya start yelling!!

RINGS are won by TEAMS, not by individual players. No great team ever got on top without a great coach - Auerbach, Sharman, Riley, PJ. And no great player ever rose to the PINNACLE without a great coach.

Bottom line RINGS can't be a factor in who was the greatest to play the game. Has to be based on what they did as an individual.

Otherwise GOAT would be Russell followed by Robert Horry. TEAMS win RINGS but GOAT - that's individual.

  • @Vstrat0 Jordan would still be looked at as one of the best of all-time if he didn't win 6 rings and if he didn't have a good supporting cast. He did dominate in every aspect of the game. Saying that he's not the goat because he's not the rebounder or shot blocker that Wilt was is stupid. The game was different in Wilt's time and also Jordan was a shooting guard. A center is obviously going to be better than a shooting guard at rebounds and blocks.

  • @joeyyowee hear you, Wilt isn't the only name I put out there. Dream was same era as MJ.

I also hear ya he was a shooting guard. But that doesn't change the fact that a guy GREAT AS HE IS - can't really be in the contest for GOAT, if he doesn't dominate in ALL facets of the game.

I admit I'm biased in favor of powerhouse centers, they take over games like nobody else can - sweeping boards at both ends, shutting down lanes, knocking a hot shooter's ball right into the stands - THAT'S DOMINATION

  • @Vstrat0 Don't get me wrong at all. MJ is the greatest guard to ever play. He was just unbelievably awesome.

  • @joeyyowee stfu jordan cocksucker

  • @12ck0wnage lol I don't even like Jordan

  • @Bengetowutang agreed

  • @joeyyowee lebron is gonna be a pippen to dwane wade watch.

  • @Sogio90 I agree. When he came into the league people expected him to be the next MJ not the next Pippen though.

  • LOL. Nice selective video. Jordan scored 60-something points that game.

  • @23flight23 Pippen deserves some credit also for the Bulls 6 championship rings. Put prime Pippen in the NBA today and he would be a top 5 player.

  • @joeyyowee Absolutely 100% completely agree. Pippen was a legend in his own right. Top 3 today: 1) Kobe (barely ahead) 2) prime Pippen 3) Lebron

  • without pippen MJ = baldheaded Dominique Wilkins

  • @thebruceblitzchennel oh cmon everyone knows that toni kukoch made the team lol

  • pippen is better than kobe.

  • @StoopidAnus On defense not on offense.

  • @StoopidAnus NOT.

  • @StoopidAnus HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHA you did not just say that

  • @StoopidAnus Scottie is my second favorite player of all time and I can't stand Kobe but that's an insane statement. If I had to compare to Scottie to someone who plays today it would be Shawn Marion. Marion averages more points and rebounds, Scottie was a better passer, defensively Scottie was better but Marion is a pretty good defender too. Their games are very similar.

  • @rockyrack2 Prime Pippen destroys prime Marion. I would take Pippen over Marion any day of the week.

  • @rockyrack2 If Pippen played in the NBA today, he would probably be on Dwight's level. A borderline top 5 player.

  • @joeyyowee I don't want it to sound like I don't like Scottie, like I said he's my second favorite player of all time. I've seen pretty much every game he's ever played as a Bull and their's no doubt he was great defender but on offense he was only OK. It's hard to compare him to the guys who play today because it was much harder to score in the 90's as opposed to today but he really couldn't create his own shot most of the time.

  • @rockyrack2 He was a great offensive player as well. He wasn't the best scorer in the world, but he was good in that category and he was a good playmaker.

  • @rockyrack2 WRONG WRONG WRONG learn ur basketball watch

    KBVSZD - 5:16

  • @rockyrack2 Scottie was nothing like Shawn Marion. Offensively OMG it's not even close. Scottie was a point forward... Lamar Odom would be a better comparison, but Scottie was much more aggressive and looked for his shot. Marion is a slasher and spot up shooter... nothing like Scottie. Defensively, I think they are close... but defense is so cut and dry so it's easy to compare 2 good defensive players with the similar measurables (Batum, Marion, Battier, etc.)

  • @rockyrack2 Marion is a good comparison - a natural 3 who can play some 4, has a diverse skill set, deceptive athleticism and some toughness. He's not a 'killer' or a 'winner' though.

  • @StoopidAnus stoopid remark

  • @StoopidAnus wow that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever hear...

  • @StoopidAnus wow that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard

  • @KyleJennex you're blinded my the media for thinking pippen doesn't match up with kobe....get a clue.

  • @StoopidAnus I'll say Prime Pippen is about as good as Kobe now. I'll take peak Kobe over peak Pippen though. Pippen was a better complementary player and a better defender, but Kobe was better as a number 1 option and better at taking over games.

  • @StoopidAnus dude what u said was basically me saying.. Andrei Kirilenko is better than derrick rose.... wtf are u talking about dude?

  • @StoopidAnus your wrong. i may be a kobe fan and a little biased, but you could ask anyone and theyd agree kobe bryant is better. pippen is better on defense but overall kobe is better

  • @Kobeownzu81

    NO!!! YOU'RE WRONG

Pippen is better than Kobe cuz the defensive rules is changed and that's why kobe takes advantage...

  • @mgvelos pippen is a great defender but he could be really physical in the era he played in and kobe couldnt in this era. so then that just kind of cancels out you know what i mean? people always look at the handcheck as a way to prove that offensive players were better back in the day, but doesnt it make present defenders like kobe and ron artest and shane battier better because they couldnt be as physical while playing defense? the rule just cancels out if you know what i mean

  • @Kobeownzu81 pippen was still a superior defender by moving his feet laterally and bodying up

not to mention his size gives him a big advantage over kobe

  • This is bullshit...Show the whole game, and you'll see what really happened...

  • jordan is the best overall defender of all time.

  • There's a longer video of this game on a link to the side of this. It says Jordan played for the first time in 15 months to play this. Pretty funny too cuz they play the Rocky Theme to the video

  • I would DIE to see a 1 on 1 game Jordan VS Pippen. I am sure they played hundreds of times against each other... Someone should have brought a camera :)

  • @houwie300 yeah but back in the day cameras were fucking huge

  • Lets not forget that tis game was played when Jordan was RETIRED out of the game for almost 18 months and he simply came back to play in Scottie's charity event. When Jordan was at prime playing level it was no contest no matter how great the defender was playing him..

  • the highlights you posted took place while jordan was retired from basketball for a year. not a good indication of how well pippen could guard mj. not saying pippen wasn't a great defender, but i just wanted to add some context to this video.

  • @Koalabunga420 i think pippen out of everyone would've been the most capable person against jordan... after all they only played on the same team for how long?

  • Actually, jordan schooled Pippen a number of times. Many other players are up on youtube. You chose the only 2 plays where Pippen was able to stop Jordan. Jordan schooled him the rest of the time and scored 50 in the game.

  • these are great clips.

but dennis rodman is the best defensive player of all time.

  • @tukfrompk Pippen is the best perimeter defender of all-time.

  • @tukfrompk man i miss those days... fuckin jordan, pippen, rodman, harper, kukoch bugs bunny

  • Haha, youre cute, this is during jordans first retirement, he played to help pips charity, there are about 15 other plays of Jordan busting Pips ass offensiveley and defensively. Great find though, i forgot all about this game.

  • haha, pip was a great player... but mike was not only the best offensive guard ever, but ALSO the best defensive guard ever, aguably. and mj was wearin spikes and a glove everyday during the time of this game...

  • this was a charity game which at the time jordan was playing baseball and hadn't touched a basketball in over a year. pip was at the hight of his game. for the record jordan had a game high in points that game. i'm not pro jordan and anti pip just 2 clips is pretty poor

  • you put it down!

  • u're right - that game was before mj came out of this first retirement.

its actually quite rare to see pip vs mj on court.

the vid is skewed for pip, because there was a whole game of pip vs mj 1 on 1

  • Pipen need way more credit!!!!..so does rodman

  • So true

  • Pippen got a lot of credit. I don't think anyone believes MJ won all those championships alone. Pippen was there for all 6 of them, and before that the Bulls, even with Jordan playing his best (eg. 1988, MVP and Defensive player of the year) were really no where near a potential championship. It wasn't until Pippen elevated his game to the level it was at in his prime that the Bulls started dominating.

  • @rome3724 Dennis Rodman mos def needs more credit people tend to forget he was only what 6'6 6'7 and he defended the centers once their center couldn't handle it and he did it well hell he even took over the small forwards or shooting guards defender when the time called for it. Such a shame that his talent gets overlooked by his outrageous personal life,

  • No matter how good a defender is at the pro level, very rarely can the defensive player shut down the offensive player. The defender is trying to put the offensive player in bad positions. Of course Jordan scored, he was one of the best offensive players of all time!

  • this guy is bullshit, he only uploaded the 2 clips that show pippen schooling michael, i bet if pippen had schooled jordan 3 times in this game we'd be seeing 3 clips on this upload, or probably the whole game if he could've kept it up
