wow lovely playing, a lot more sensitively played than many of the 'speed freaks' out there who don't understand that the beauty of the classical guitar lies in its tonal qualities. What edition are you playing from or did you prepare your own transcription?
Good work Virginia Luque! You have brought redemption to the long lost D Minor piece of perfection! And I'd also like to add how much the guitar, itself has brought to Classical music in bends, hammer ons and yes almost piano-like mathematical forms.
Wow. In this day of speed and guitarists playing the guitar as though they are playing the piano as that which doesn't have half of the devices as does the guitar for expression, i.e., being able to use vibrato, etc, here's a Segoviaesque playing at its finest with so much expression and speed at the same time. I really love her transcription of Chopin and this is simply awesome. Simply Refreshing. This is what guitar and guitar playing is all about. This is the reason why I love the guitar.
@workedant, excellent comment... VL's intention is to faithfully keep that interpretation from those great composers of d past intact, & at d same time she is open to what is coming, new guitarists with d new new technology ''being computer friendly assisted'', her interpretations must be kept as a ' world treasure'. The Sound of New Music, Expanding technology's horizons at CNMAT by Meredith Carpenter
A beautiful rendition of this piece. All the best wishes for continued success! I look forward to other interpretations from your talented guitar! Cheers,
You feel music. This is my favourite song, thank you.You sit the music. This it is my favorite song thank you. You are the only one that has transmitted me so much feeling on playing this song. I play it to piano, but to guitar sounds brilliantly.
The guitar is drop-tunned D G A G B E so it can be played in that key - my guess it's Dm. This is done to make playing the piece in a desired key easier or in this case, possible. It can be played in a different key in standard tuning too. Many guitarists don't like drop tunning but in this case, I think it's well worth it to get a darker sound.
Very nice playing of a piece that doesn't get the exposure it desreves! Your right hand is almost like the old lute players, but it seems to work! Beautiful sounding guitar- who made it?
Great technique, but I think some of the musical decisions are a bit suspect. I keep hearing a beautiful phrase be set up, only to be dashed by an over-exaggerated note. Also, the melody gets lost in the chromatic passage (I know how hard that passage is, but still). Nonetheless, an impressive performance of a difficult piece.
all guitarists are romantic interpreters, but your pationat expressions are a sign that you are trying to make of every piece of music a work of art...
Great playing, great song. I never liked this piece transcribed to guitar because when the main theme is restated with the chromaticism it has a stronger effect on piano. Other than that, its great!
Jason Vioux and Denis Azabagic are both really boring guitarists i nearly fell asleep in their concerts more so Vioux than Azabagic. This is a very nice performance by Luque I will definately listen to more of her. She has such bad posture though, i'm glad i don't have her backbone! I suggest listening to Pavel Steidel, Izhar Elias, Harold Gretton, Alexander Tsubulski and Duo Pulguise for the music. Failing that a lot can be learned Technicaly from Williams, Yamashita and Wang Yameng too.
Hermosa interpretación Virginia, esas manos son prodigiosas. Holy talent you have my friend, can't wait to have that CD of yours, I will treasure it, you are the best!
