  • It's all about money at the end of the day

  • Why are we in Afghaniatan? Because our U.S puppetmasters told us to that`s why. Also, our own Steve HArper, the same steve harper who when leader of the opposition chided the Prime Minister for not standing beside the U.S. in Iraq. The same steve harper who read from a prepared speech, the reasons he believed we should put our soldiers live on the line... problem was he read the same speech prepared for the Austrailian Parliament. So much for thinking for yourself and investigating seriously

  • @phredhead I hate him, but I don't think it's wholly the reason we went to Afghanistan. Many countries went in there, we are a UN country we went on a UN mission, not an American mission.

  • Fuck people our soldiers are there to fight an unwavering enemy, they will not give up and neither can we, I strongly disagree about the majority of our forces being with drawn by years end, there's still an enemy out there that needs to be fought and eradicated ...these men and women deserve the upmost respect from every Canadian, it's because of there selflessness That we are able to enjoy our freedom. Btw in regards to oil, you know how much untapped oil we have up here in Alberta? 1.3 tril

  • @mikado009 The enemy was created by US and Canadian foreign policy from the last number of decades. The US has been bombing that area for over 20 years. Kids are killed in those attacks and this incited hatred which resulted in 911.

  • @akropiss didnt you hear the guy say "afganistan has the most refugees" what he failed to mention was how opressed the people were and in some places under the rule of the taliban still are opressed. He also failed to mention afganistan produces 90% of the worlds heroin and that it was at the time the hide-out of one osama bin laden. Your trying to pull racism into this. Oh and as u said members of al-qaeda in afganistan were saudis the majority of the hijackers were saudi

  • For the people who have a hard time understanding that this war is over resources, do some RESEARCH! Who do you think is gaurding the afghan oil pipeline? Guess what oil pipeline will be used to move the 1.6 billion barrels found? There is not just oil yet almost a trillion dollars in untapped resources such as gems, metals, opium.

  • 1:46 Cpt John Hamilton (Hammy)!!! Fuck Ya!!

  • people complain about the war, but if your not a soldier, why do you really care? your not the one fighting, let them do there job.

  • @biggbear0130 People that say other people complain about war, need to realize its not complaining(ok maybe for some). I just want to expose the truth to the soldiers eyes and the eyes of the famillies of soldiers to realize what you are really fighting for. I have a right to care if a person has been duped and is going to die for a terrorist corporation.

  • Is there a place I can buy this DVD elsewhere than online?

  • Get out of Afghanistan. They are no threat to us. Our greatest threat is in Ottawa. They`re using our youth as pawns for the military industrial lobbyists. Our leaders bow to their U.S. puppetmasters. We`re spending billions of $ we don`t even have. The war has bankrupted the U,.S. and will do the same to us. Anyway, we`re off a good start. Before we leave we`ve released the prisoners under our juristiction. Way to go !

  • why doesnt anyon take ovar canada?

  • No one cares about canada. Let them die who cares... Their not even a real country...

  • @Lmfao785 shut up fat american, go eat hamburgers and count ur money before an arab comes to ur house and steels it

  • what are your thoughts on the canadian accent?

  • @scarymelt they sound like faggots to me

  • @Lmfao785 harsh yo

  • YOU CANT HAVE PEACE WITHOUT WAR.

  • @Pwndizzle George Carlin said it right, "fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity."

  • @akropiss Ignorance is bliss. Maybe if you looked up how women are treated in Afghanistan, you would understand why were there. Its funny to think that before 9/11 there was only one hospital that would 'serve' women. I'm pretty fucking sure that 9/11 is not the only reason why were there...Fuck you and fuck the 5 assholes that thumbed your dumbass comment up.

  • I love Canadian soldiers, because most of the men in my family are/were. My dad, 3 uncles, grandfathers and two brothers, both of which have seen action in Afghanistan

  • The US has taken from its allies a 15% fee on the hundreds of millions of dollars given to build up the Afghan army.

    Wikileaks.

  • at minute 1:40 "being a little bit safer for canada in the future?", i thought this was about the afgan people!

  • @CINNDIRELLA Well what would you be saying if one day a plane your mother was on in canada got hijacked or there was a severe threat on Canada then you would be begging like a little bitch for them to help you be more considerate they are just doing there job man and we took a vow to protaect not only Canada but our allied countries aswell!

  • Get out of this country. What a waste of time and money. Al Queada isn't even there. When the majority of people (and even leaders) have no clue why were fighting a war, then maybe it's time to leave.

  • My brother, David is with the British Columbia Regiment in Afghanistan. I hope he comes back okay.

  • Why Canada is in Afghanistan: History tells us that a way to plunder a country's resources is to prop-up a corrupt government. Next, loan them money for infrastructure, that would start an economic recovery that would allow them to pay back the loans. But, since the government is corrupt, that money will be wasted, meaning that the country would never be able to pay their loans back. So decades later, Canada will own the resources that Afghanistan has put up as colladeral. Many die, few profit

  • So why is it that when 280 Canadians citizens were killed in the Air India Flight 182 bombing, we did not feel obligated to go after the killers. The discrepancy of going after those that killed 24 Canadians, but not after those that killed 280 Canadians, makes one think that there is another reason we are in Afghanistan

  • @anotheropiniontoday Well stated. We might also wonder why our, ahem ", leaders ", said "let`s let the U.S. justice system take it`s course" regarding Omar Khadar when by the Geneva Convention definition he was a "child", if and when he murdered a U.S. medic. By the way, is there an American or Canadian who wouldn`t think twice about commiting a capital offence if their sovreign soil was encroached upon?

  • Al qaeda`s home is in Saudi Arabia. Our U.S. puppetmasters don`t go after them because the U.S. industrial military complex sells billions of $ in sofisticated arms to that kingdom. Canada is there because the U.S tells us to be there.... yeah wage peace. Young people, don`t believe what some shit stain lying politician tells you. When Stephen Harper was leader of the opposition he chided the P.M. for not sending troops into Iraq. Its always rich old men sending young men to die for them.

  • im from Philadelphia PA usa Collins CANADA RULES THAT THE WAY HAY

  • You are all fucking wrong. Why are we (Canadians) in Afghanistan? Because innocent people need someone to stick up for them. That's what Canada does. We always have, always will.

  • @DEQR The why didn't we go to Rwanda why aren't we in the Ivory Coast you fucking moron. Did we stick up for them when the Taliban took power in the mid 90's.

  • GOD BLESS YOU ALL, THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND ALWAYS BEING THERE TO COVER OUR BACKS WHEN EVER WE HAVE NEEDED YOU , MOST OF THE TIME TIME WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED . WITHOUT YOU OUR FIGHT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALMOST TO MUCH , THE PILOTS FROM CANADA WHO FLEW IN THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN THE COUNTRY THAT GAVE MORE THAN ANY OTHER PER HEAD OF POPULATION ETC ETC ETC . ENGLAND THANKS YOU ALL . STAY SAFE , YOUR ALL HEROS AND I WOULD WANT NO OTHER WATCHING MY BACK IN A FIGHT !

  • Hum. Afganistan has a lot of resources and its in a key position in the middle east. That's why during the cold war it was a huge theatre between Soviets and Americans.

The country was bankrupt and now it's a prime place to produce opium. And I don't know this but the opium trade is worth a LOT of money. To a poverished, uneducated nation you can get a lot if you control the opium trade and you can't do that without your outside the country contacts and you won't find moral people behind it.

  • hopefully enlisting in the Canadian forces in a few months! wish me luck

  • @norcofoxrider I wish I could enlist, but I can't because of my goddamn flat feet!

  • @norcofoxrider GOOD LUCK , YOU ARE JOINING A FORCE WITH AN AMAZING HISTORY , I AM FROM ENGLAND AND WITHOUT YOUR COUNTRYFOLK WE WOULD HAVE REALLY STRUGGLED . YOU GAVE WITHOUT ASKING AND NEVER COUNTED THE COST TILL IT WAS FINISHED . FOR THAT WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO REPAY YOU . HAVE A GREAT TIME IN THE SERVICES AND KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN , COME HOME SAFE TO YOUR LOVED ONES

  • @norcofoxrider Rethink this one son. Look at middle east history and you`ll see it was the west who first intruded on their soil. 9-11 is the blowback for unwanted unsolicited interferance with the affairs of a sovreign nation. Do yourself a favour and look up Operation Ajax for starters. Don`t let our lying politicians hoodwink you. They have a selfish agenda. They don`t give a shit about you.

  • My Brothers to the North. thank you for your service in afgahnistan.

  • Go USA, Canda, UK, Australia, Germany, and every other country in the fight against terrorism!

  • "Canada doesn't deserve to be in afghanistan fighting wars". Alright. Don't ask us for help when Russia (or worse) destroys your military.

  • @Sursion7 I'd hate to admit it, but I believe it will be China. America keeps it economy somewhat stable by selling it's debt to China, but it needs to pay it back some time. If Obama doesn't start his plan to export more items from America than importing from other countries, a war may break out.

  • @akropiss Have you ever been there man? how about you STFU until you have first hand experience. everyone is entitled to an opinion, but most of those opinions should be kept to yourself

  • @akropiss we all know that bud please for the sake of no repeating something taht is known 1000 times over for the past 10 years say that again "they werent afghani" we know!

  • slayer666, so 24 people died so you think attacking a whole country will make things right? avenge 24 people by killing tens of thousands of other people who had nothing to do with it? think about what you're saying.

the truth is that there is absolutely no good reason for anyone to wage war in Afghanistan. every soldier that dies there is a wasted life. Sorry, but truth hurts!

  • @overseer1981

dude, the 24 canadians just justifies it for Canada. countless americans were killed that day. and trust me, i'm not the biggest fan of the U.S. , but, because they are our allies I'll support them any day, because thats what a democratic country does. i dont know about you but i like living free and being able to walk down the street with getting shot, or blown up, or being ruled by a giant drug organization.

  • America is side by side with Canada. Brave soldiers you have.

  • this is random, but i wonder why there is a bunch canadian civilians that want us out of afghanistan? I wonder if anyone has ever thought of asking the actual soldiers who are fighting it? I could almost guarentee that 90% of soldiers in the Canadian forces would say that we should stay in afghanistan.

  • @slayerplayer666 If you are in the military what is your position in the military?

9-11 happen in the states not Canada so why should we be doing the states dirty work?

  • Is the fine for killing 4 Canadians $5,700 or is that inclusive of also wounding 8?

  • My bro is going to be over in Afghanistan next month with the Royal Engineers. When people ask me about Dave i just say "he's good". Us Canadians are over in Afghanistan because we can damn fight for ourselves and we care about others.

  • I wondered how an educated advanced society like Germany could fall under the spell of an evil man like Hitler. #1 the masses didn`t have access to alternative points of view.# 2They were brain washed. Canada 2010. We DO have access to information. That doesn`t seem to matter to many of our young people. They`ll listen to a lying politician or a military industrialist instead of checking the facts. Young people, I don`t question your bravery.Make sure you have all the facts before you sign up

  • @phredhead everyone looks into what theyre signing up for dont discriminate against the young

  • @walkertexasranger33 " everyone looks into what they`re signing up for".....You know what the kids are thinking? Amazing. Quetion for you. Can you tell me about Operation Ajax? You can find it right here on Utube. Every time I ask about it, I`m either ignored or have some profanity uttered at me..... but NO ONE WILL TALK ABOUT OPERATION AJAX.... BECAUSE THEY`RE NOT INTERESTED IN FACTS!!!!

  • @phredhead ya i do know what kids are thinking because I am one. operation ajax has something to do with the cia starting a coup to overthrow the first democratic leader of Iran.. why do you care what happened 50 years ago.. you some kind of conspiracy artist?

  • @walkertexasranger33 Kid, You are somthing else. I`m 61 and I don`t know what other people my age are thinking. Operation Ajax... kind of arrogant isn`t it? Kind of sets a "hate the west" mentality don`t you think? it was a British Oil company that told their government the Iranian Prime Minister wanted to nationalize their oil reserves. The British were weakened by the war so they told the States, The CIA overthrew the government and put the Sha in.... the name of the oil company B.P.

  • @phredhead i know what people my age are thinking because ive talked to quite a few people my age who are thinking of or who have signed up into the CF. but yes i do recall reading about that a few months ago.. its hard for me to recall things ive read up on, regarding history of iraq and iran when they were before my time

  • The west, starting with Britain, have been mettliing with Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq for over a hundred years. Now it`s biting us in the ass.... hard. They are human just as we are. They fight differently than we do because they don`t have the conventional weaponry. The bottom line is there`s no moral differnce between a suicide bomber and a stealth bomber. The west taught Bin Lauden how to fight. The west armed Iraq to fight against Iran. the west deposed democracy in Iran in the early 1950`s

  • " okay, I immediately knew I was in a war zone".... Duhhh, I thought it was a tea party, and" why are we in Afghanistan?" Because the U.S. is there. If they wern`t there we wouldn`t be there. GET A LIFE CANADA. The Taliban is of NO threat to Canada.... UNLESS we try to impose our will on them.( like Britain and the U,S and their imperialistic policies) . If we leave them alone they`ll leave us alone. Also, we can`t afford the $ to be there. Our country is fast going into financial ruin.

  • @phredhead

Nice generic, uneducated, band-wagon jumping liberal douche bag statement!

I'm not even going to waste my time writing out how many ways that you are WRONG with your previous statement, but I will say this:

Any one Canadian citizen who does not stand behind the efforts that our Forces have made, or the unfathomable lengths they have gone, is a blatant TYRANT!

  • @DEQR "I`m not going to waste my time writing how many ways that you are wrong". Of course you`re not. You can`t think of any. Stephan the liar Harper says we should be there and you you`ll eat whatever pablum he feeds you. He`ll tell you "A Canadian doesn`t leave till the jobs done", ( then he`ll shut down parliament). You need to educate yourself on western policies and their arrogant attitudes to sovreign nations. Start with Operation Ajax. Do it now! You`ll thank me for it.

  • @phredhead

You honestly think I'd thank a pinhead liberal for propagating against his own country?

I don't give a fuck about what Harper or any world leader says.

Integrity and Duty are two of the CF's 4 pillars. There are innocent people who need our help and we are in the position to actually do something. You're a coward and that's why you aren't doing anything to help. However, I'll be DAMNED if I let a sack of shit like yourself bad mouth our efforts globally.

  • @DEQR Are you over the age of 14? Op Ajax? Canada`s a great country in spite of it`s leaders, not because of them. We`ve got over one million Canadians who don`t know how they`re going to feed, clothe, and shelter themselves. AND our government that says we`re gonna help them foreigners by spending billions of $ ( that we don`t have), cause Uncle Sam says so. Oh yeah, the U.S. is broke too. Yeah, I`m a coward, and you`re a brave Utube warrior. I do help the war effort. It`s called taxes

  • @phredhead

    youtube warrior?

    Im actually in the military.

You sir ARE a coward and have a VERY narrow mindset.

  • @DEQR I checked your profile. You have issues. With Internet anonimity courage or cowardice is not determined by words. One person said he`d meet me anywhere, anytime... stupid, just like your comments. You`ve backed nothing up with fact. I`ve demonstated how the west have mettled in foreign affairs ( Operation Ajax), and reaped the wind. If foreigners came to "liberate" Canada and killed one of my family I hope I would have the courage to strap a bomb and take out some liberators with me

  • @phredhead

Well you know what asshole? I hope you do strap a bomb to yourself and blow yourself up. As for checking my profile; did you expect to earn some sort of prize? You want a cookie little tyrant liberal douchebag?

I can clearly tell that you're a dumbass trying to be smart. These people don't suicide bomb because their family members have been killed. They do it because generally these people have no money to take care of their family and this terrorist organization offers a to pay

  • @phredhead

an amount of cash to their family and look after them if they join the cause. It is also a war of religion, as these people believe they will be rewarded with 70 virgins when they reach heaven. I know this for FACT because I have been trained under an infantry captain who has had a suicide bomber blow up a building within their Forward Operating Base. Maybe you don't agree with what the U.S. is doing but Canada operates in a totally different system. You wouldn't know any of that

  • @DEQR

Canada operates under a totally different system??? Are you mad? Canada is nothing more than a poodle to U.S. Imperialism. The minute.... no the second the U.S pulls out Canada will depart. As far as leaving by the end of 2011... it ain`t gonna happen, because Karzi says we`re needed until 2014. If NATO doesn`t comply... well geez you heard it yourself, Karzi said he`d join with the Taliban. Seriously man, for your own sake and safety ( I`ve got kids older than you), check out Op. Ajax.

  • @phredhead Those one million Canadians are that way because of Debt.Their own PERSONAL DEBT they CHOSE to HAVE in the FIRST PLACE!

  • @phredhead Really? The loonie is soaring, our banks are expanding, our resources are exporting and our employment is rising, interest increases and mortgages shall tighten. Where do you see collapse in that sentence? ON YEAH! NOWHERE! Stop thinking the world love us. We're a BIG Democratic and resourceful nation. We will one day have to stop a threat before it knocks on our doorstep. Also, we partly rely on the US if something happens to them, it'll happen to us. Stop dreaming and get to work!!!

  • @SniperViper1000 get your head outta yer ass. The loonie is soaring only against the U.S. $ which is falling because of their `quantitative easing`.... printing money out of thin air. Of course our government is following their lead with `stimulus packages ` you know, building train stations with money they don`t have, and spending billions ( we don`t have) in Afghanistan... deficit spending. Our biggest threat lies not with some guy hiding in a cave... they`re right in Ottawa

  • @phredhead The loonie is rising because of rising commodity prices... DUH! Your right, our biggest threat isn't a guy in a cave. It's the caveman's group coming to us and trying to destroy our society. Don't deny it either. It's a threat to us, to them, to the poor civilians to governments and to prospersity everywhere.

  • Looks like the conflict will end in a draw....Dedicated suicide bombers believe in their cause! Canadians seem to keep aiming a constantly changing goal posts. Even the USA with all their shock and awe weaponry are beginning to see the light and are talking about negotiating with the Taleban.

  • You Mother Fuckers!

If you did some research you would know that 24 Canadians where killed in the 9/11 attacks, so if you ask me, that gives us a perfect motive to be in afghanistan.

    And joecanada55, when you asked:

"By the way in 'multicultural' Canada why are 99% of our dead soldiers white?"

I don't think they pick who steps on the IED's you fuckin' twat!

I think you should get off your high-horse and un-fuck yourself.

  • @slayerplayer666 Well actually the canadian forces is mostly white and there actually trying to change that buts it not working well.

  • @Supremedeity It`s not a question of loyaly to Canada. The reality is that a higher percentage of minorities place a higher emphasis on education. According to the Globe and Mail, many young people ( with minimal education), can`t find jobs, so they sign up for the military.

  • @phredhead I'm not saying it is a matter of loyalty it's just the facts and yes I'm in the army myself . I'm a sig and I know the truth ask other minorities in the army.

  • @phredhead It that a fucking problem to you!? It's none of your concern why young people sign up. They sign up because they want to. Also, Germany wasn't advanced educationaly during the Great Depression. Hitler MADE it advanced educationly. Germans wore in need of a saviour and hitler was that man.

Stop telling Canada how to do AND young people what to do. As far as I'M concerned the Benefits are worth it.

  • @SniperViper1000 yah it is my concern, when I see 1/2 of my income confiscated by wreckless spending governments... Are you stupid? Hitler educated the Germans? Hitler was a SAVIOR? Give yourself a slap.

  • @phredhead *facepalm* Hitelr gave the Germans mass amounts of education and saved Germany. Infact, he brought it right out of the depression and saved the nation by turning deprevity into prosperity. I don't liek that Hitler had a Jewish Holocaustic mindset but none the less he was a saviour to German. So for it Germans loved hm.

  • @slayerplayer666 i would take a 7.62 round for any canadian, american, uk, french, german, netherlander, norwegian or german any day, and hopefully, when the forces are recruiting again i'll be honoured get a chance to walk with these men, and women, of all ages in the canadaian forces.

  • @slayerplayer666

Osama is from Saudi Arabia and wanted the US out of SA. 15 of the 19 terrorists were from SA. None were from Afghanistan or Iraq.

US military left SA in 2003. Osama won..

  • Unocal was the US company wanting to build the Trans Afghanistan Pipeline

Did you know the Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai worked for Unocal. Intelligence "whistleblower" Julie Sirrs had "proof that Unocal provided money to help the Taliban take Kabul in 1996. The Talibans biggest benefactor was US. The Taliban reneged on the pipeline deal.

The Taliban preferred an Argentinian company to build the pipeline then the US invaded

  • @slayerplayer666 Are you in the military?

  • @villancico1976

No, but i've been in the process of getting recruited now for about 5 months, and have a father who is in the military.

  • @slayerplayer666 Most Canadian soldiers are killed by american soldiers. Half the people american soldiers kill are Canadians. 24 people is nothing. More people die in one night in Toronto. Canada being in Afaganistan could be a good thing, but we have alied ourselves with the US. We could be helping them get their country together but we are ordered to help the american soldiers. 99% of Canadian soldiers that die are white because most Canadian soldiers are white.

  • @slayerplayer666 i think he meant why are 99 percent of enlisted men more or less white. which would make the ratio of dead more whites

  • @slayerplayer666 Not to mention thousands of Americans. Doesn't really matter where they're from, if they're innocent civilians. In any case, the US are our allies. We owe them this. Canada says: You don't fuck with our friends.

  • @slayerplayer666 Shut up you baboon. You are a victim of brainwashing and dont even know it. There is only one motive to be in Afghan. To control heroine exports and afghanistan has mountains filled with rare minerals that is the west needs to jack. You dont actually believe they are there for peace do you ? HAHAH brainwashed baboon. They would be in africa if they cared about making peace.

  • @2012bilderberg You have come to be the dumbest asshole EVER!

  • @2012bilderberg

Well considering I spent six years around 1,3,and 4PPCLI and countless other units between 2004-2009,I can say that yes,the Canadian Soldiers over their are over their for peace. The government, maybe not,but I believe he's over their for peace. You call me a brainwashed baboon, and all you got is conspiracy theories with no actual proof. See,i can prove the soldiers are there for peace;building schools, irrigation systems, medical-aid points, etc .. so please unfuck yourself.

  • @slayerplayer666 What does Afghanistan have? RESOURCES. Sure build schools make the ppl happy while they steal the countries resources lol. What a good deal ahahah. Get real bro aight ! can u dig it? Thief's and yes i dont blame the soldiers, its the leaders of the men there that piss me off and u know this.

  • @2012bilderberg

If I could see proof of them robbing their resources then I would agree with you, I would not support a government who would do that. Sorry I went off on you, I just thought you were dissing the soldiers over there, and I can't stand that man. My dad is an Afghanistan veteran and he came back with PTSD so I hate people who rip on the soldiers.

  • @slayerplayer666 The whole reason why I spread facts about what this war is truely over, is not to make a soldier feel bad for being duped, yet to stop the soldiers from being duped further. The USGS and Afghan mineral survey teams have known about the 1.6+ billion barrels of oil for years and look how the Afghan pipeline runs in Kandahar. It is not a conspiracy yet the truth. The real problem is, the terrorist corporations want to monopolize all resources and use good people as cannon fodder.

  • @2012bilderberg

So were getting oil out of this deal? MY GOD!!!!!!! My question is, Afghanistan isn't even in the 20 top oil producing countries in the world..............So why dont we invade russia? The Number 1 oil producing country in the world? Or Mexico, the number 6 oil producing country in the world? If we needed oil that bad as to go to war, we would just stop exporting it to the US.

  • @tds94probe NO NO you do not understand. Afghanistan has precious minerals such as the minerals used to make lithium batteries in tech devices such as the iphone. It is also a key base to hold if there were a world war 3 to happen. Keep in mind that the decisions are coming from a small group of people that live mainly in europe. You will see that i am correct my friend.

  • Comment removed

  • @joecanada55 they acually did loads to us and if u don't like this than why are u even watching it??

  • @joecanada55 also why do u think we are called peace keepers...when theres a prob we handle it with our nabours U.S.A were like family

  • @joecanada55 if you know your world history, you would keep your mouth shut, your politically impotent... probably one of those rier smokin' hippy's, lets presume your a communist as well, you are possibly no more profficient at figuring out your own damn gender, never mind giving opinions about war, it does not take an astro physicist to understand that murder is wrong, althought is some cases you half to be willing to do whats necessary to ensure civil liberty, and peace.

  • Canada is there to give the Yanks a symbolic hand job.

Afghans have never done a thing to Canada. Leave them alone and leave them THERE!

By the way in" multicultural" Canada why are 99% of our dead soldiers white?

Were are the gratefull minorities showing their appreciation?

  • @doireallyneed1 The truth is the person that died made the greater sacrifice and you should be thankful for that, while your fat ass sits in your comfy chair. No matter what nation they were from. Ask the families of those 1617 heroes who made the REAL sacrifice.

  • @dspazguy,

Why do you think I'm not thankful? I fully support the men and women of our Armed Forces and I honour all the sacrifices that have been made on my behalf. The point of the comment I made was to reject the idea that Canada's contribution to the Afghan mission is not strong enough.

  • The US is urging us not to withdraw from Afghanistan. If they still want us there, we must be doing something.

  • Canada is in Afghanistan because they are U.S.' neighbors/allies, when one of us is attacked, we all go to war together.

U.S. would have done the same for Canada

  • Comment removed

  • Mind you we did not go with the US to Iraq

  • @Volnutt

that's because the Canadians were fighting the war in Afghanistan.

  • @SushiSounds

That is one of the Reasons yes but, Canada was asked to go with the US, and Jean Chretien (our former Prime Minister) had said "We would not goto Iraq unless it was Sanctioned by the United Nations." After that statement was said, a lot of Canadians were for lack of better words "pissed off" that we didn't go with the US.

So yeah I guess it was mostly because we were already pre-engaged, in a Peace-Keeping mission.

  • wow the old man actually went into the water to stack up stone for the marines to cross!!! this is really touching...

  • Comment removed

  • Rangers/Marines/Navy Seals/ Special forces all got their noses rubbed in the feces and urine' s of the brave Talibans. Spending millions on these spoilt brats is useless. Talibans still controls 80% of the land in Afghanistan, than what the hell these guys with all the modern war equipments doing there. This a lost war, just like the lost war in Iraq.

  • invaders pillaging

  • Tell me about it, those fucking Taliban have invaded afghanistan. Good thing the Afghan government has asked us to help their people and help their soldiers fight them.

    ~Thanato

  • What invaders? Do you mean the 100 thousand + US, UK, and Canadian invaders and the toy soldiers of the rest of NATO? What a joke -- do you mean the crooked Afghan head of state who ask you all in like his predecessor asked the USSR in earlier?

Canadians like you are as clueless as Americans; didn't think anyone was as ignorant as Americans, but now I have to wonder if Canadians are.

  • Do you know what the Canadian forces is accomplishing in Afghanistan?

    ~Thanato

  • 99% of what Canadian forces (& US, UK forces) are doing, under illegal orders, is killing people just as they are trained to do. The Afghans are doing exactly what Canadians did when the US invaded Canada in the War of 1812: Canadians fought the US invaders with every means they they had (including burning Washington, D.C.) after the US burned Canadian cities. In all wars, brave, decent people are killed so that the rich get richer -- that's the point of war. Everyone else suffers & dies.

  • The orders are not illegal, and the Canadian forces only kills people who are trying to kill them, or innocent civilians.

Also a large number of Afghans do not support the Taliban, as they know that there is no future under them.

    ~Thanato

  • Thanato, agreeded: The Afghans neither support the Taliban nor have much of a future under them; though it is obvious at this point that they had even less of a future under the mad sadist criminals of the Northern Alliance which NATO allied itself with and whose leader is so odious that he was recently removed from the Afghan cabinet via US pressure. The best way to end the bloodshed & undercut support for the Taliban is to end the occupation. But US,UK,CA war profiteers won't allow it.

  • What are they profiting from?

    ~Thanato

  • In the US even the leading pro-war papers like the Washington Post and NY Times routinely print stories on the immense weapon-maker & contractor ripoffs, but to no effect. This is precisely the situation that Ike warned about in his farewell address. Both political parties are so deeply involved, that they block serious criminal investigations (with exceedingly rare exceptions). Then of course there is the huge profits from selling killing machines around the world. The US is # 1, of course.

  • @tom500k I could not agree more with you. What the hell are we doing there. The states would have us stay there forever. For all his faults Chretian kept us out of Iraq.... what a mess that`s turned out to be. Remember Harper chided the then ruling party for not sendind troops to Iraq?

  • Canada is only in Afghanistan in order to protect Western interests and assets and to stop the Muslim militants from attacking us. Having Canadian troops in Afghanistan has only done the opposite. The fact is that we are now MORE of a target in the eyes of al-Qaeda. The mission is redundant. Canada is an occupier, imperialist, terrorist, and hypocrite. I have never been so ashamed to be Canadian in my life.

  • are u fucknig retarted. Your just saying that when the fuck have you ever scene canada at a war first of all ? where you alive during bosnia, rawanda, chechnya, sieera leone, im guessing the people we where fighting thought the same about us , just like the al queda do clearly they dont like us. Where at war with them. Dumb shit,

  • And where in Afghanistan because we are part of an orgainization which spans the world. With the strongest countrys, We work together as a team, The minute one country fails and leaves or dessartes they all do. So really you dont understand one thing about canada being at war give up.

  • im a canadian soldier.. and i say you need to stfu

  • @3vpme huge respect. keep up the good work it is Canada's obligation to fight the War on terror.

  • If you are a Canadian soldier you are risking your life to enrich war profiteers and in the process endangering other Canadians. Also, as recent Parliamentary hearings have demonstrated several of your colleagues have violated international law and conspired to cover up their violations . You and the rest of NATO have done nothing in this decade to improve the lives of the the people of Afghanistan -- see the reports of the World Health Organization.

  • TruthToRYouth, I'm absolutely shocked at your poor grammar. Please consider going back to school.

  • And tell me the deffinision of a terrorist before you come spitting your fucking shit on a video about our men and women fighting for and dieing everyday. Show some respect especcially in the month to remember. Fucking coward

  • @buddhasknowbest thats an embarrassing statement. Al-Qada will target Canada as long as were a Western Nation or a friend of the Americans. Canada has no choice but to use force to eliminate the threat, there is no other way. Taliban/Al-Qaeda have nothing positive to contribute to humanity and have no right to do what they do. Afghanistan deserves peace after 30 constant years of war and the Taliban doesn't deserve anything.

  • So building Schools, Roads, Mosques, houses, walls, ect we dont do that?

    ~Thanato

  • Yes, but like the USSR, 99% of the cash goes to killing and bribes for the super rich in Canada and in Afghanistan -- that's the whole point of war. Expect taxes to rise and health services to shrink. When health services shrink enough, US companies will go North to sell you the lousy, overpriced insurance they sell Americans. The cost of schools and health programs are tiny compared to the full cost of waging a war.

  • Actualy a large portion of the money the Canadian government spends in Afghanistan gots to Reconstruction, and to help pay for the wages of the ANA.

    ~Thanato

  • then go live in Afghanistan with your Taliban buddies. I'm sure they'll give you shelter, food, Ivy league education. Oh ya and safe haven from Imperialist thugs like us.

  • As a pacifist, I reject all murders of all groups and all countries. I particularly reject murder for the profit of billionaires and for the sake of protecting a pipeline through Afghanistan so the West can loot the Caspian Oil Basin. Alas, the Canadian forces are dying as part of the pipeline protection forces. Of course the media and CBC, the government's propaganda ministry, won't reveal this. You have to read primary sources and the world press if you want truth.

  • Oh I know the truth. the Afghan government asked the U.N. to bring in troops to protect the people who live there from thugs. Who blow up schools. Prevent children from a basic right to education. prevent women from there basic rights. that's the truth. that is the reality now. A pipe line may or may not happen in the future.Get your head out of your ass and live in the now.

  • then go live in Afghanistan with your Taliban buddies. I'm sure they'll give you shelter, food, Ivy league education. Oh ya and safe haven from Imperialist thugs like us.

  • cadence

"Bomb the village Kill the people

Throw some napalm in the square

Do it on a Sunday morning Kill them on their way to prayer

Ring the bell inside the schoolhouse

    Watch the kiddies gather round

Lock and load with your 240 Mow them little motherfuckers down"

taken from the documentary "the Ground Truth

  • We're doing our best to help the people there and the ones over there killing innocents are the terrorists who kill anyone who doesn't want the west to burn.

  • @paladin12122 exactly. Taliban and other terrorist organizations don't care about the Afghani citizens. They use them as meat shields, they're a tool of war to them to get sympathy.

  • this is a stupid war started by callous people and waged by the gullible. there are no crowds of afghan people cheering their occupation, so stop pretending the troops are doing Canada a favor by being there. Afghans and Canadians want the war to stop, and they don't want to be associated with it.

Also, the Bonn agreement was a framework established by NATO on how to setup a new Afghan government (what others call a "puppet regime"). It in no way can be interpreted as a request to invade.

  • Different story then what my buddy is saying. He was telling me of Afghans who were thanking him, because his kid could go to a school, he crops could grow, that they are able to drink clean water.

    ~Thanato

  • No doubt a tiny # of Afghans benefit from Canadian a tiny portion of Canadian efforts. But this tiny # needs to be balanced by the millions killed, maimed, made into desperate refuges, because the US uses the Maple Leaf to gives huge crimes of the US legitimacy.

Is this worth the lives of Canadians and higher taxes at home? Eventually the huge cost of the war must be paid.

  • By tiny percent, do you mean the hundreds of thousands who are benefiting from demining operations? From us building things, such as paved roads, wells, hospitals, police stations, schools, mosques as well as other things for the local population.

    ~Thanato

  • Thanato, if you are in the NATO military, please accept my genuine sympathy. It may be impossible for you to allow yourself to realize that your sacrifice is vain. You probably actually believe that your work is just and right. Tragically, you are swimming against the current of reality. No one will ever exchange the horror of foreign occupation for some demining and infrastructure building. I wish you a safe new year back in Canada where you belong and deserve to be.

  • There is no NATO Military, NATO is an alliance of nations who at times agree to assist each other.

The afghan people want peace. They want education. They want a future, something they can not get under the Taliban.

    ~Thanato

  • Unless you've fought in this war, your opinion is shit. That goes for everyone, shut the fuck up.

  • Bring our troops home, Afghanistan presents no real danger to Canada, This war only serves the corporations and its not worth one canadian life.
