Congrats guys, I know just how you feel, It took us 18 years to do 5643, now at Llangollen and that first move under its own power, is, as the ad says, priceless. Will see you Saturday 23rd Like the colour, bet it gets a lot of publicity in the railway press.
Did a little painting with Paul and his mates,a very devoted band of saviours of a fine loco. I take my hat off to you all, and i am sure all those people that have worked on it in the past are looking down and saying "well done"
Absolutely Fantastic, a credit to all those wonderful people that have given everthing they have to achieve this beautiful moment. I hope to visit Rowsley as soon as possible.
100 times better to watch without music, thanks! You can hear the lads chearing just as I'd have expected them to, 28 years working under tarpaulins, well done all involved
As one of the team, I was on the video busy on the engine ! , Nice to see from another perspective ! Reg ,Vince and all the Friends We've lost, This is for you......
Simon, was Reg the grey haired chap with glasses? I spoke to you on sat, i did a bit of painting, but i have a garage and had to start working as it got very busy.
Sorry for the late reply Mick ! Yes that was Reg, There is a glimpse of the man himself on the 8f pages on peak rails website, scroll down a fair way! And yes I remember speaking to you on the Sat. Hope you can make it back soon !
First time I've ever seen a loco set off without any drain cocks.:P
Well done to all those involved in her restoration though, looks like you've done a good job!:)
