You get the feeling that the reason she is denied parole is not be/c she killed but be/c of who she killed; and be/c she is linked to the people who killed the night before at the Tate house. Surely the prison system is supposed to rehabilitate people - thats the point of it.
This is also about context, the horrors against innocent civilians in war are overlooked because they happen in enemy territory. We are all capable of horrors if the context changes, she did it in cold blood when there was no need - but her inner context was the cause. Prison is only about revenge at this stage and my guess is that she is probably no danger to society by now.

You get the feeling that the reason she is denied parole is not be/c she killed but be/c of who she killed; and be/c she is linked to the people who killed the night before at the Tate house. I guess Debra Tate's presence is to remind the board of that. No matter how ready she is to re-enter society she will always be denied. Essentially, LVH is denied parole before the hearing begins. Atkins, on her death bed with one leg amputated and one side of her body paralyzed, was denied.

After 30+ years in prison, you should have an eloquent explanation for why you feel you committed your crimes, what motivated you, what you have learned since then, etc. If you truly recognize that you did something wrong, you would be thinking about those things.

Parole i supposed to be granted if the criminal is no longer a threat to society, period. This woman is not a threat to society anymore, and should be released. Assuming that they were fully functioning , normal human beings is stupid. If you are a grandfather then you sure don't show much in the way of wisdom. Old but not wise is what best describes your attitude. If you lived through those times you sure don't have much to show for it.

It is well known (even by Bugliosi) that Manson rarely used the stuff and if you have ever read Manson: In His Own Words you will come across quite a few things indicating how he controlled his followers. This is echoed in virtually all the testimonies and interviews with his followers. Good luck with the reading and next time tell us how much you know about drugs so we can walk away laughing.

@ImmortalUniverse Manson's "drug addicted face"? I didn't know faces could be drug addicted. BTW, I've never heard of any of his ex-followers deny the use of drugs. On the contrary, they all admit to using lots of drugs.
