Realize the fact that for the average family taxes are the biggest budget item above food and housing. This has been building for a long long time and people have had enough. Our taxes have to increase to support the size of the government. Almost 10 percent of the budget goes to pay interest on the national debt. The real point of the tea parties in my mind is that government should always have a balanced budget and never spend more than it takes in. It is bipartisan because the RINOS are part of the reason we're in the mess we're in. End the spending, end the bailouts, and give the people their money back.
I agree. Spending and taxes. Spending, either from income from taxes or from borrowing or from printing is always going to come back to the little guy. And most of the government size is of no help and unnecessary for the little guy or for anyone else for that matter. All these ridiculous unnecessary departments and agencies are flat out oppressive. That's why many economists say that the stimulus bill should have been way bigger. The states' budgets are bleeding dry due to unemployment and they need more assistance otherwise they have no choice but to raise taxes.
That's why many economists say the government should give the people their money back! We know how to spend it to assist us far better than they do. The stimulus should have been non-existent. We should terminate the departments of education, agriculture, commerce, etc. which are a profligate waste of funding. There should be across the board hiring freezes in government for both the federocracy and the states and localities as well. The government must steal first in order to redistribute.
Remember (?) the largest category by far in the stimulus bill is tax relief. It includes one of the biggest tax cuts for the middle class in history and it puts the tax rate for those making over a quarter of a million dollars a year back to the rate it was before Bush "took" office in 2000. So much of this "spending" you guys are talking about comes in the form of "not collecting" taxes which affects our budget in the negative. So we're "spending" money on taxpayers. Nice, huh?

Didn't obama pledge in his campaign that a bill wouldn't pass until everyone had time to read it? He did say that and I liked that and I believed it. He was great during the campaign and I supported, but he flat out lied on a lot of stuff, lets face the facts here. Regarding taxes, it isn't for people making 250k, its for families making 250k-125x2.
Congress had 17 weeks to read the bill. What you saw certain republicans holding up for the camera was the completed bill that had minor changes made to it within the final hours of passage.
When you add something to the margins of a book, you shouldn't have to read the whole book again in order to understand it.
There are no tax cuts in the stimulus bill. The amount in our withholding has been decreased for this year. The bush tax cuts from 2001 will not be renewed. The government budget is 3.5 trillion which will exceed revenues by 1.5 trillion. The federocracy will have to institute taxes sooner or later. They initiate taxes in areas not always seen or comprehended such as cap and tax whose costs will be passed onto the consumers. Obama is a grade A liar and manipulator.
