Most deadly? No. Dangerous? Yes. Most Dangerous? No.
As a storm Chaser, I've seen much worse. Not saying that this is "Not" and dangerous storm. It also is probably pretty scary... ( to some people ) but that's it.
@L4dead2rocks creepiest moment ever: when you're 8 years old and 2 thunder roars distanced by 10 seconds wake you up, at midnight. Flush. Im 19 and still shuddering bout it...
@TFZ14: Try a supercell thunderstorm that produces 85 mph straight line winds with grapefruit sized hail with deadly CG lightning , and don't forget an "EF-5" tornado that is kilometer wide leveling a town of 50,000 people killing 189, injuring more than a 1000 leaving nearly 10,000 homeless. . . Joplin, Missouri., May 22, 2011. top that one!
thats not thee loudest..ever since wen i was very young back then..thee thunder was so0oo0o loud i got deaf and my whole intire house shook from theee thunder...i mean i had scream my head 0ff right next to my dad and my dad cant hear me bec0z thee thunder was so0o00o LOOUDD lol haha...its like thee atomic bomb jus landed right next to my house shet thats why we couldnt hear each other lol haha
We in Perth Australia suffered a shocker there last summer Lighting Thunder and Hail stone the size of tennis balls. check out the you tube vid THE GREAT STORM OF PERTH 2010
if you want to hear a loud clap of thunder, come to west virginia. the sound bounces off the hills and it seems like it shakes your house off of its foundation. lol
@RADIZZLE: Actually supercell thunderstorms are generated from very moist unstable warm air clashing against a dry line coupled with a powerful low pressure system accompanied by a cold front, also the wind field in the atmosphere are not moving in general direction in fact the wind and wind speeds turn with altitude causing the storms to rotate thus becoming supercellular given there ability to draw intense moisture into a confined area.
I'll give you that.......the HP super cell in Oklahoma out dueled mine, but given on shear.....caught me off guard lightning strikes in a row,,,,,,,,,you have to give mine a second look...........your friend...........JB
Also, that particular HP Supercell was moving only 13 mph., so needless to say the storm lasted nearly an hour, with power out, windows breaking, lightning like a strobe light, continuous very loud thunder, hotel room slightly shaking, and the roar and wind shift of a passing near hit tornado made us all very paranoid!, this video is very good, and i do like the wall cloud under the base of the passing shelf cloud in the vid, impressive lightning as well! :))
Loudest and Scariest??? I think not, I intercepted a HP Supercell in northeastern Oklahoma, USA., in May 2011,., I just got through with a chase day when i realized i was the one that was going to be in direct contact with the same storm hours later et my hotel, my team and i calulated 85 visible flashes/40 strikes in a 1 minute time period, this is with 80 mph straight line winds with golfball to softball sized hail at night and nearly got hit with an EF-3 tornado that was 2 blocks away.
@Thunderstruck401 Here in New England we mostly get standered Thunderstorms with soft to moderate thnder and lighting and rarely gets supercell storms. If im true There has to be alot of high pressure with lots of moisture to produce supercell storms.
LOL it scared the bird....and that first bolt was ALOT closer than i thought it was...did it hit ur neighbor's house? T_T i thought that was up in the bottom of the clouds. oh well lol
if that happened in AUS, everyone would go toilet at same time!! SOunds Crazy
