  • this is bs because during ww1 they allowed conscious objector to war but usually if u follow a religion that is well known to object to war.

  • A Soldier has control of his triger finger, can't be forced to kill a child- this is all bullshit, to make a case to desert. Suddenly, his warm bed in US Army station is now in Iraq, so they these deserters cry and run away! What is a soldier for, sit in US wait to be invaded? No, that is the air force. If these pricks did some research before signing up, they would see US Army bases all over the world.

  • Bastard, take him to Fort Leavenworth.

  • Operation Canadian Freedom will come eventually. We need those oil resources for the war machine. Plus there would only be limited resistance mainly by the canadian muslim population. The thought of Abrams and AAV convoys rolling down the streets of Toronto makes me very aroused.

  • Somebody should carpet bomb somestranger. She how he likes the terrors of war, you retard!

  • pacifist pussies

  • @somestranger12

You are an idiot. The war is a fake, phoney energy resource war. Down with the American empire.

  • the americans are the only ones doin anything everyone else are being a bunch of wusses i wished i lived in the us so i can kill these dirty fuckin muslims

  • Then why doesn't someone kill you , if you have that same mindset.

  • Shut your mouth, I'm not black, and don't use that sort of insulting remarks.

  • Dear S

What? Are you serious or just pulling a parody. If it is parody, that is just pure comedy because people that think like that, especially women, tend to have their brother's penis buried deep within their rectum. Infact, I caught a show in the red light district of a dirty ignorant redneck choking on his dad's dink and gargling praise of muslim slaying in the name of freedom with his spunk. That's just what people who think war is cool do after church and monster truck rallies.

    Bitah.

  • ooo baby...all this arguing is gettin me aroused

  • What was the official Canadian position during the Vietnam war?

  • We did allow them to come, in fact our country's history is built on that principle. We have allowed American refugees into this country since the beginning of the American Revolution. Now that we have a neo-con gov't that supported the Iraq war and is a bitch to it's masters in Washington, we no longer uphold this policy.

  • What the fuck... Human Rights? Yeah sure you have em, but it doesn't mean you can desert.

  • This guy who wants out has good morols and he has good reason's. When you join the military, your basicly selling your soul to them

  • haha fucking canadians.... the land of hypocracy lmao

  • You dont know how are every law and system works you small minded ignorant jerk

  • you're right. but if i do recall sweden is part of the eu which would put them right in the pocket of the globalists seizing everybody's rights. don't categorize people like that every nation in the world is facing tyranny right now and it's time we do away with patriotism and fight this as a whole.

  • Our military is currently working with the americans in Afghanistan, so why should we allow their defectors to take refuge in our country. That is betrayel of an ally.

  • Im in the national guard and disprove of Bush's decision. That does not mean you should run forthe hills. This guy is a coward. Most intelligent people know what the armies job is. People like this guy should be shot like in the olden days. He took an oath probobly in it just for the money. I hope he pays for what he's done.

  • Unjust punishment? He well knew what the consequences were when he signed up. What's the worst that will happen to him? A few months in jail or community service? Yikes!-It's torture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This coward. Why did he join the military if he's not willing to take orders. TOUGH LUCK PUNK. Do as ordered or be put in prison. You have no right to question what is right or wrong in the military. That's why the military WORKS.

  • Bush is worse then Hitler. Bush needs to be tried on Murder charges. The Government of USA needs too be overthrown, and take out the trash. I feel sorry for these soldiers, that know this war is based on lies, they want to defect, and us as canadians, send them back into the fire pit. Shame on us!!

  • jodexters if you like to call bush hitler, move to IRAN, and join them in doing so. Dont forget to deny the holocaust while your over there.

  • lol stupid amerikan

  • "humanititian" "work"? GET THE Fuck OUT! of Iraq! And Aghfganistan. You don't belong there! Unless you sympathise with the NAZIS!

  • thanks ssuper1515. gotta bring em home now.

  • I took the oath just as Corey Glass did. To defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Our enemy is domestic it is the Bush regime. Thats why I'm in Canada with the others. Thats why we are a part of IVAW Iraq veterans against the war. Everyone wants to support the troops then why does nobody listen when we come home and tell them it's wrong

  • welcome to our country hope u can stay and help fight this illegal war

  • I also spent a year in the middle east during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was a made man in the eyes of the Army. I walked away from job security, health care, a new shiny car. I walked away. This war is Illegal. It was deemed so by the UN an organization spearheaded by the US and England after WWII.

  • I am the former SGT. Hart of the 101st Airborne div. I served 10 years of active military service. In my time of service I have participated in a few humanitarian missions. You may recall operation Provide hope/ or Operation Provide Promise. It's well documented.

  • WHERE ARE MY COMMENTS?

  • Coward. A soldier doesn't get to choose what battles he fights. He goes where's he's ordered to go. You sign on Uncle Sam's dotted line he owns your butt. No soldier wants to go to war. No soldier wants to fight. But you sign up with the military, what the heck did you think they did? Plant trees? This guy is a coward.

  • a coward? a coward follows orders he knows is wrong and does nothing.

He wanted to do humanitarian work, not fight the war, he even stated that.

  • He knows is wrong? Really? Hundreds of thousands of real soldiers seem to disagree. There's nothing illegal or unjust about the war in Iraq.

And if he wanted to really do humanitarian work, why did he join the military? Why not the Peace Corp, Habitat for Humanity, or a billion other charitable organizations? Please. He thought he'd play it safe, join the National Guard, do his one weekend a month and get all the financial benefits without paying a real cost. He's a coward.

  • There is something illegal about the war, its unjust and congress never actually declared war on Iraq, this was Bush's doing.

He joined the National Guard because thats what it is, a NATIONAL GUARD, not the US Army. The National Guard should never be deployed to fight a foreign war, thats not the point of the Guard.

Paying a real cost? For what? To insure that the rich get richer with this war? Because im afraid to tell you, Iraq posed no threat to anyone, except, sadly the Kurds.

  • YouTube isn't the forum to debate this and I'm not interested in doing so anyway. But I will say one last thing: The United States has not declared a war upon another nation since World War 2. Bush secured an authorization to use force from Congress which served the same purpose.

Your problem isn't with Bush. It's with Congress. They could end the war TODAY if they had the spine. They don't.

  • a coward is someone whos fights for something they dont believein.

a heroe is someone who stands up for their beliefs

  • A hero is someone that fulfills their commitments when they'd rather do anything but.

A coward runs from their commitments when the mood suits them.

This coward made a pledge to the people of this nation and, more importantly, to the men and women of his unit. By leaving he left them underpowered and vulnerable. He betrayed not just his nation but the very people that would have laid down their lives for him.

  • exactly he made an oath to protect his nation, iraq has nothing do with that according to international law

  • International law doesn't dictate what is or is not a threat to the United States. Congress authorized force against Iraq, the President used it. So, I thank you for pointing out that this coward violated his oath of service to his country when his Commander In Chief called him to fulfill that oath.

You may not not feel that Iraq is a threat but the Congress and President, the two branches who's opinion actually matter in this debate, feel otherwise.

  • well iam canadian so u no more of this then me but didnt the dems this year take control of congres and they appose the war?

  • Democrats say they oppose the war, yes. And they do control Congress. Thing is, they've done nothing to stop the war. They could vote to de-fund the war TODAY, effectively ending it. They haven't. And they're not going to. Despite their rhetoric, they know pulling out of Iraq is suicide. So, they'll criticize the President to get votes, but then do nothing when they get power. Otherwise, this war would have ended 4 years ago when they took Congress.

  • So basically, don't criticize what the gov't is doing, they're doing it right?

  • There's a world of difference between criticism and turning your back on your oath. A soldier is free to criticize. But they are not free to abandon their post whenever the mood suits them. It isn't some 9-to-5 job they signed up for. The issue at here isn't the right to criticize - it's this coward's betrayal of his oath.

  • WOOOOOOOOOO go dude!

    right on brotha

  • i love canada!

  • Canadian government and its secret service are guilty and accomplice of letting a 15 years *Canadian* to be tortured in Pakistan and then Guantamo Bay against all possible international treaties you can imagine. Protecting americans against US illegal war? I would not hold my breath on that...

  • it is an illegal war, where is his human rights???the seargent has a right to resist if he thinks the war is a mistake, he should stay in canada and seek refuge there.

  • Fuck Canada

  • This is probably the only place you will hear that 30 soldiers have been imprisoned for refusing to fight.

  • He had a cup of Tim Ho's in the last scene - that's a sure sign of Canuckism.

    hdll

  • as long as harper, err bush's lap dog is around US troops have no hope in canada

  • May God Bless us with Ron Paul as our next President! I Refuse to choose between the Evils this election! RON PAUL ALL the WAY!!!!!!

  • So when you are a good Canadian, I hope,

you will help these people, like some good germans helped the jews (and others) in WW II.

That is what our western society has become

in the years of 2000+... - *what a shame*

  • I'm Canadian, and I'm fucking ashamed of our federal government. They're corrupt, self-serving, and gutless wimps. Canadians, like Americans, are too stupid to vote in their own best interests. History will not take kindly to this travesty of justice. Of course, that would be the norm given the country's history of quashing human rights, especially for minorities, for empty promises of security. Canada does not deserve its reputation for being a kinder and gentler nation.

  • We didnt have much of a choice in the last election did we...

I think we should support these kids that dont want to fight in Iraq, At least Harper has kept us out of Iraq, more than I could say about Paul Martin with Afganistan

  • I think you should support these kids as well. Impress upon them that they are not wanted back in the US once they serve jail time. You can start by taking back Robin Long, he'll be out shortly.

  • Thats right, you only want brainwashed kids you can send to get their feet and arms blown up for you in ILLEGAL war . Now YOU go to IRAQ NOW asshole!

  • Buzz off cluck, and roll out the welcome mat for Robin Long. And please keep the sponge Kim Rivera as well.

Your own government is giving these cowards and sponges the boot .... maybe they know something you don't?

  • bTW, have you sent in your donation? It was practically the first thing on this video .... donate and support them. And welcome them back after their punishments here.

  • Now I see why you are so eager for Canadians to keep these cowards and sponges .... you live in Norway!

  • @likes2p dude the liberals ndp and bloc voted against it and it was not passed...

  • To my Canadian friends, Please consider that Step 1 is to become a poodle of the US by refusing safe haven for US war resisters. Step 2 is kiss your universal health care good-bye as your politicians sell you out to US "health" insurance corporations. Step 3 is to incorporate Canada into the US as a province to provide more cannon fodder for Afghanistan and future wars.

  • Iraq war, Vietnam war same shit different year. When will the US ever learn? Get the troops out now!

  • Wars are not about freedom. Wars are about economic gains for the Ultra-rich in society.

  • The complication for Corey is that he volunteered and was not drafted into the US military, and the Iraq war was dubious from an international law perspective from the get go. So he had ample prior knowledge. He might consider flight to Ireland or Germany until the new US President is sworn in, at which time, circumstances might be more favourable to his complaint if it is a Democrat administration.

  • He volunteered for the NATIONAL GUARD! It's fair to think that when you join the National Guard, you are signing on to...guard the nation, not go gallivanting all over the world for first-strike imperialism

Even with international conflicts (Afghanistan) at the time, its fair to assume he was just signing on to fill the domestic gap of people sent overseas. At what point did National Guards start getting sent o/s? I don't know but I'll bet it was after he signed on, when troops became stretched

  • I believe that a National Guard member and other specialized Police units may be called upon to serve in the military, to supplement troop numbers.

As per the constitution, the US military should not be overseas to defend the homeland. But, since the Congress and the Senate were wilfully derelict in their duty to restrain the President's ability to wage war, Corey and his counterparts get to suffer the consequences.

  • "I believe that a National Guard member and other specialized Police units may be called upon to serve in the military, to supplement troop numbers."

That's clear *now*, but I bet the recruiters never told Corey that in 2002, when there wasn't a pressing need for troops, and he thought he was only signing on for domestic duty.

It's stupid that they no longer have a domestic-only DEFENSE option. They would be missing out on a lot of potential volunteers, which could ease their burden elsewhere.

  • Fair points about 2002 and one's expectations of National Guard membership given that Iraq, in 2002, was a possibility, and the war in Afghanistan was declared won.

Since 'we are where we are', now is the time to encourage no one to join any defence institution until the constitution has been restored including the upholding of second amendment rights as the proper way to promote homeland defence.

  • Amen to that!

  • How about we in the US fix our own problems, we should not have to expect Canada to always help the just. They are even trying to pass the law to help him stay, they are doing far more than the US is or probably will ever do.

  • Good point, but Canada has historically been a kinder, gentler version of Capitalism. It has been like Hungarian gulosh Communism vs the USSR version. If Canadians continue to accept the sell-out by its politicians, than it can kiss universal health care and what remains of Canada's soverenty good-bye.

  • Boooo Canada shame on you....

Grow some balls and stop being the United Slaved States bitch

  • @frankscola DONT PISS ON CANADA PISS ON THE GUY THAT RAN NOT US

  • @frankscola it also said 30 more so that means some US solders so piss of and shut your ass
