I have one of these and seeing how this video has no voice behind it I'll help !
It's got some weight to it peopel for good reason. Look at the blade, it's wide and long . Ment to couse KILLING wounds. The weight helps carry the blade into the targets body. It's thin enough to fit batween ribs and long enough to reach and puncture ALL major organs. Even the hilt can be used as a weapon seeing how it's strong enough to fracture your skull. It's a hell of a COMBAT KNIFE !
I love my lmf knife . It's a good knife .Recommended It can cut salami , spred butter . cut small trees and dig small holes skin animals remove limbs with ease
Its a spear also by lashing throought the holes on the handle , so you can spear pigs , and fish .
I held one for a while at an sporting goods store and it feels really good in the hand. All of the components seem high quality. You'd think that it could really take a beating.
.
The price is right too. Something like $60.
.
The reason I didn't buy one is because I've had Gerber knives before and Gerber uses a substandard mystery steel and it just can't seem to hold an edge to save itself. You have to sharpen after every use, no matter how small the job. Explains why they included a sharpener.
@envirosponsible your obviously far too weak to do any serious camping/anything that you would need a knife like this for. In a survival situation, I'm afraid you would die within 1 day.
@shaztekk im not protecting him man, all im saying is that weight is always a consideration. for example, this is a combat knife right? if youre a soldier weighed down by a ton of gear, would you really wanna add more weight to it? it all adds up dude, and i may not be a soldier, but id certainly wanna carry the least amount of weight possible but still retain all the capabilities. and less weight means more speed, and you dont get tired as easily. thats all im saying, not defending anyone :P
@DonovanRoberts69 No it is not a combat knife, it is a SURVIVAL KNIFE. My uncle carries like 35kgs on his back in the army i don't think an extra couple of hundred grams is going to make any difference.
@shaztekk ok thats half true. gerber markets it both as a survival knife and an infantry knife. and not doubting you, but everyone has an uncle that does something. he carries that 35 kgs because he HAS to. in a situation where you get to pick your gear, then weight makes a difference. some people arent trained military, some people arent built as big or as well. some people are older. some are smaller framed women. all those people may be concerned about how much weight theyre carrying lol
@DonovanRoberts69 Fantastic reply Donovan, though what I'm trying to say, is why the HELL did this guy buy this knife, if he is a small weak girly man? ;)

I think Gerbers are pieces of shit. Period. I like good knives, but I've never seen nor held or used a good Gerber. Ever.

people bitch about weight to much. suck it up and grow a pair. weight means sturdy, sturdy means reliable. so really weight is good.

@shaztekk strength has nothing to do with it. ever heard of ultralight camping? every ounce counts when youre hiking along mountains all day

@DonovanRoberts69 Dude, don't protect this weakling, this knife weighs nothing to someone who is normal.

Hey man im thinking of getting the gerber prodigy. I like it because its just a little smaller than the lmf. Do you think it would be a good idea?
