I would say Anette's voice isn't as bad as people say..Its just her voice isn't fitting that well in Nightwish as well as Tarja's .. I mean, im sure lot of the people like nightwish so much for the differend vocal, mainly for that misterious voice of Her's..Its a thing between metal and opera if you know what im sayin'..so I think that Nightwish vocal faded when Tarja left.Still, they will last forever,Tarja will last Forever! This song clearly isn't in Anette's voice range. It's not her fault. Gotta give her props for atleast going out there. I'd LOVE to see Tarja try to sing some of the songs, like Aramanth, that Anette ROCKS at! I don't listen to Nightwish anymore. Even if Anette was "Tarja 1.1" it would still be wrong. Tuomas should have taken the vocal main again maybe with a female backing singer and slowly found their new style. If you loose a part of you, you dont just replace it, you learn from your mistakes and move forward. Not just stuff your face with the first and best cupcake there is for the rest of your life. "The Islander" is the only new song I can endure from the "new" nightwish.

You can all whinge as much as you like , but at the end of the day Thuomas chose Anette for a reason, be it a good or bad decision, the blame lies with the master not the puppet. Anette doesn't offend me, but she has a complete different sound from Tarja.
Indeed, Anette's performance ON THIS SHOW, 3 years ago, was bad, she was still getting used to her singing. The problem is: Ignorant people don't see how much she developed her voice since then, how much her range grew and her technique evolved so that she's a professional now. But of course, music noobs and Tarja widows love to say that Anette sucks. Blinded people suck. x)
@moraesfmk people arent just blindly saying she sucks, she doesn't have the ability even now to reach the notes Tarja used in Nemo, and you are completely deluded if you think she does.
@Megaphonus Yes, she does. Check the most recent (2009) concerts and you'll see it - or not. She's using belting perfectly to reach the higherst notes of the songs, and she's doing it well on the majority of the songs. Nemo is one of them, mostly because it has a quite "ok" singing range, if you get Nightwish's harder songs, she' isn't singing well, because it is IMPOSSIBLE for her to. This doesn't mean she's bad, (dumb) people think that the higher you can get, the better you are.

OMG after listening to the operatically trained Tarja, then the flat dulcet tones of Annette this is extremely cringe worthy. I feel so sorry for Annette. She doesn't have the power but that doesn't mean I dislike her. I agree with a previous post that some songs are just not written to carry Annette's voice and yes this isn't one of them. However this was back in 2008.
The new songs with Anette sound more alive and they are made for her voice and they are awesome! but she shouldn't sing nightwish songs that were made for Tarjas opera voice.

Anette is a good singer, with some good songs (bye bye beautifull) but is no match for Tarja.... Tarja is a Godess , very powerfull voice, very strong stage performance.NW are just not the same without her......

@Alejandrito250992 no es que apeste hermano, lo que sucede es que estas canciones fueron pensadas obviamente para la hermosa voz soprano de Tarja, es triste ver que forcen a Anette a cantarlas, por ejemplo, una canción escrita para ella y que es fenomenal, es Amaranth, fue pensada totalmente en su voz. No es que apeste, sucede que canta canciones que ya no son de la etapa actual de nightwish sin Tarja :C

@Alejandrito250992 exacto, no es que no rife, es que estamos acostumbrados a la fenomenal y hermosa voz soprano de Tarja, y repito no es que anette no rife, lo que sucede es que el error está en compararla con Tarja, si te das cuenta, el estilo de nightwish cambió con la salida de Tarja, las rolas ya no están pensadas para una voz hermosa, sino para resaltar más el conjunto, no se si me explico :P

You can all whinge as much as you like , but at the end of the day Thuomas chose Anette for a reason, be it a good or bad decision, the blame lies with the master not the puppet. Anette doesn't offend me, but she has a complete different sound from Tarja.

Indeed, Anette's performance ON THIS SHOW, 3 years ago, was bad, she was still getting used to her singing. The problem is: Ignorant people don't see how much she developed her voice since then, how much her range grew and her technique evolved so that she's a professional now. But of course, music noobs and Tarja widows love to say that Anette sucks. Blinded people suck. x)

@Megaphonus Yes, she does. Check the most recent (2009) concerts and you'll see it - or not. She's using belting perfectly to reach the higherst notes of the songs, and she's doing it well on the majority of the songs. Nemo is one of them, mostly because it has a quite "ok" singing range, if you get Nightwish's harder songs, she' isn't singing well, because it is IMPOSSIBLE for her to. This doesn't mean she's bad, (dumb) people think that the higher you can get, the better you are.

OMG after listening to the operatically trained Tarja, then the flat dulcet tones of Annette this is extremely cringe worthy. I feel so sorry for Annette. She doesn't have the power but that doesn't mean I dislike her. I agree with a previous post that some songs are just not written to carry Annette's voice and yes this isn't one of them. However this was back in 2008.

haha that was so fun, i could say that nemo is definetly tarjas song, this song is not for Anette cause she cant hold the voice very long.. it reminded me little bit of rap with high pitched voice.. but she is good to sing her own songs.. that is more fit for her.. Nemo is definetly not her style of song to sing. but 1:59 to 2:03 is just beatiful though xD respect ;)
