When you're about to shoot and you cradle from the end of the stick (most of the stick is out of your hands), you can tell if you're cradling right. If it's not in your fingers, the ball will fly out of your head. If you have a short stick, pretend you have a long one and cradle from near the bottom of it. That's how i, PERSONALLY, set up for a shot (to get the most power-slide my hand down...pretty basic). Cradling it like that is mad hard if it's in your palm and not your fingers.

@loneshark123 Don't quote me on this, but if you put the ball in the pocket, and you raise it up to eye level (the stick is flat), if the ball is UNDER the plastic of your head, it's illegal. So, imagine your head without the netting, if you put the ball in and it's under COMPLETELY under the plastic part, it's illegal. For girls sticks, they have barely any pockets (they can't get checked, so they don't have to worry TOO much about cradling).

Andy was a stud at Gtown and still plays pro. He did a excellent jog at stressing THE TOP HAND DOES ALL THE WORK. This is why I teach my boys (6&7))to practice with one hand all the time. I tell them to CARRY the stick/ball with one hand, spin around, bounce the ball on the ground or to each other...ALL with one hand. They've naturally learned to control the ball in there stick with one hand and then evolve into carrying (or "cradle")the stick in traffic with 2 hands out of need.
