i miss karazhan too... i still remember doing 3 guild karazhan concurrently seeing who could finish first... and everytime it was aran... and flame wreath was cast... we'd yell "FLAME WREATH DON'T MOVE!"

lol when I used to lead raids back then I went in vent and said "Everyone reapeat after me: I will not move when flame wreath is cast or the raid blows up" I had them repeat it 3 times for good measure and they lost 10 dkp if they blew up the raid by this

I would suggest raid leaders to get everyone in the raid to listen to this before they do Shade of Aran. Get it stuck in their heads, and i'm sure they won't move.

At this point in the game, after several gear upgrades, a new expansion with 10 levels and several more gear upgrades, there's hardly anything to this battle anymore. Move during Flame Wreath and you'll barely be scratched, and Aran will be nuked before you know it.

Still a nifty song though, I wouldn't mind raid leaders playing it for that morale boost.

Flame Wreath is an ability used by Shade of Aran during his encounter in the abandoned tower of Karazhan, and is one of the most common reasons for a raid's wipe during this attack. The spell creates a circle of fire around three characters in the raid. Should anyone outside these circles cross, the entire raid group will be wiped. A common protection against this is for every raid member to remain still until the spell has expired.

@Fearnavigatr It's not necessarily a WIPE, and it won't go off THAT easily *you have to cross the actual FIRE, not step onto the edge, or move around outside*. HOWEVER, it's best to just tell EVERYONE to stay where they are, and the casters will likely die with their small health pools, leaving only the Paladins, Warriors, and maybe a Hunter alive.

And I will tell you from experience that "purging" the "effect' will trigger it.

@PAMuffinMan To clarify, I'm not certain, but I THINK what it does is put a PBAoE (Point Blank Area of Effect...i.e YOU are the center of it) effect that says "If the target effected moves from within 8 yards of the originating position, this spell deals X-Y Fire damage to every ally within an unlimited range."

THERE I RUINED THE MAGIC.

@Fearnavigatr that description isn't accurate, the most common reason for flame wreath been triggered was the person in the centre of the circle of fire crossing the circle, as it worked both ways.

I went back in last night, the person inside the circle doesnt even have to cross the boundary surrounding them just move the in slightest and it triggers boom, thing is he dies now in seconds and flamewreath doesnt even tickle, RIP Shade of Aran, epic raid wiper from start of BC>day it became a nerfed badge farm

I had slow fall. He died.
