I actually bumped into simon cowell in the tesco store on cromwell road london in 2004 I looked up from the veg there he was our eyes met I thought who is this greaser he looked at me we said nothing I shook my head he shook his we both laughed .I just left him to do his shopping I did mine he is a cool Londoner.Ian Dury was a interesting artist, performing in the language of East End London, totally not the BBC controlled top of the pops lip sync noise of that period..
@kingharryannis i agree with the simon cowell bit, but theres a lot of good techno, live stuff at that, that me and plenty of old punks and hippies enjoy. and the good ones are a sight better than many of the indie-alike guitar bands around at the moment. how many manic street preacher-a-likes, and coldplay-a-likes do we really need?
This is from the Finsbury Park gig when Hugh Cornwell was in Pentonville for being caught allegedly with less on him than than a very famous Knight and a number of performers stood in for him and where my following of Jov Division started.
