Marvellous! Her voice, her German, the clarity of her diction, the feeling of anxiety she conveys. "Luck without peace, Love, that's what you are". Tx to civileso for posting this series of lieder with scores, really nice.
Make that Schumannesque instead of Schumann-ian, btw.
Now that I think about it.. I can definitely see where you are coming from. The opening of Schumann's Kreisleriana has the same feel to it indeed. Those restless rolles chords..
Oh awesome! This is so helpful - really! I'm doing this piece right now, and It's very convenient to have the music I'm looking at in the same place as the song. (Helps memorization a lot!)
These lieder, etc with scores are one of the best things on YouTube. Thanks SO much for putting in the effort to make these!!

Kiri Te Kanawa is underrated as a great Schubert lieder singer. This was a brilliant performance.

O dear...now I know what I'm getting into. Although I'm performing in B, not E, but this will be an excellent reference.

That is...fast. I'm amazed at how clear the diction is despite the tempo.

This piece is from Schumann, not Scubert, I think. The words are from Goethe.

This is 500% Schubert - there is nothing even remotely Schumann-ian to be found in this Lied.
No offence of course ;-)

it is definitely schubert, my solo teacher has that schubert album in which this song is...

I love the way she finishes off around 1:13. That is Kiri's hallmark.
