i think jess really was a major part of her going back to yale because his speech made her realize she was being stupid and that the person she was being wasnt her. I loved Jess even more after that speech. I was like YES FINALLY SOMEONE TELLS HER WHAT SHE NEEDS TO HEAR (atleast someone that shell for some reason listen to). I think he really does know her almost more than anyone. And when this scene came I like cried and was so happy and was like YES FINALLY!

It was real emotion. Amy Sherman-Palladino said in an interview from then that "Lauren and Alexis have been going through withdrawals of each other so we need to end the fight soon."

So I think the combination of both emotions just makes this scene better!
