hey my htc inspire got ran over.. i sent it to get fixed and they replaced my lcd screen and touch screen and it turns on and looks fine but the only problem is that when i try touching an app or to simply unlock my phone it wont respond, any one here know what the problem can be??
good right up and video, on a side note. extreme caution is to be had when placing the backplate back in. the flex cable is the most sensitive part of the whole operation. i had to take it apart several times and reset the cable just to get it to work. for a second there i thought my replacement screen was DOA.
I have gotten half way into taking my phone apart to replace the screen, and I have 2 stripped screws and i have no idea how to get them out, I have tried everything I can think of. Does anyone know what I can do, please help!
I just finished replacing my digitizer/screen (thank you for providing this awesome video). Now, my phone can't read my sd card...any suggestions? I've tried other cards, but no luck.
You are so cruel, you just love this metal rod of yours and just stick it, and stick it in the poor phone, I just felt sorry for it.
Good quality video, but I noticed some mistakes - for the camera flash cover you first need to pull it up from the inside, from the side of the battery and before removing the housing you should remove the volume keys or you might damage them.
To be honest I wouldn't entrust my phone in these cruel hands.
Just a side note... the small flash housing for the inspire is stubborn, and can easily be chipped. If you are performing this repair use a safe pry tool, not metal. I have two word for you. HEAT GUN. Makes your screen removal a lot less destructive. Do the extra work and remove the logic board so you aren't cooking the board. You also didn't transfer the plastic light transfer studs for the menu buttons. Without them you cannot see the home, search menu and back buttons in the dark.
@chrisjsanford Thanks for your input Chris. A heat gun is not always an option for DIY repair, and removing the circuit board can easily cause damage to the flex cable. We've never had a problem with the buttons, but thanks for pointing that out. We'll keep an eye out for it on the next one.
I'm in the dark, I wish I read this post before I started the repair. I was so excited about everything else going well including salvaging the old LCD (just my digitizer was broken) that I didn't even notice the dark Search, Menu, and Back Buttons for a several weeks. I have no idea what I did with those plastic light transfer studs. Any idea where I might get new ones.
@Sinizle The light transfer studs can be a pain to find (in my case I do not find them). Since the phone is already put back together you are better off not worrying about them. Otherwise they are plastic triangles with flat bases or a tape strip basic designs on all HTC models. If you get stubborn and need them search HTC repair in Stockton and email me.
@chrisjsanford Would you happen any pictures or links to pictures of the light transfer studs? Just replaced my assembly and everything works good except for the buttons, which don't light up. Just was curious as to what they looked like and how difficult they are to find.
