  • This song deserves to be an opening or ending to an anime...or eroge ( ¬‿¬)

  • This song made me draw a tear.

  • This song...reminds me of me. Except for the ending. I really liked this one guy, and we were really good friends, but last year we barely saw each other and now we barely talk TT

But I want to get to the end of te song I MUST CONFESS!!!

  • j'adore <3

  • The cd in the comments...is that "Today is a Beautiful Day"?

  • what a nice song! This would be a great graduation song don't u think so too?

  • 5 dislike don't have farewell memories

  • does anyone know the name of the girl in the picture?

i see her picture many places with same clothes

  • Is this related to Kimi ni motagori (I think that's the name..)? Other than being by Supercell.

  • I never heard of supercell, but after this song, I swear I'll find more song from supercell! This is just...amazing.

  • @ArborSideris their album Today is a Beautiful Day is awesome!

  • I usually always find myself at tears at the end of their songs.

They are beautiful and full of emotion. ; u ; Love it.

  • i think it means "both a beginning and an end." the sakura petals mark the end to her high school routine, as well as the beginning of her (their?) post-graduation life. it's also the end of her familiar life by her crush's side and the beginning of her life independent, alone.

at any rate, thank you for this video, it's brilliant! ;-)

  • Supercell FTW

  • DAT VOICE

  • I really like this song but I've got a question...

I'm from Poland and I don't know what exactly means : 'The end with the beginning' Is it, like, tell something from the beggining to the end? And how to undersand : 'Farewell memories'? She's telling goodbye to that memories or that's the memories of their (boy's and girl's) farwell? I would be very pleased if someone could help ^^

  • @prazyna61

Farewell to things that she (they) has grown used to - now that they've graduated and won't come to their school (that often) anymore. Things like the road to school, the sakura trees on the way back home - they've becoming memories.

I don't totally understand "the end with the beginning" either, but it might has some connection to her confession at the end of the song. Confession ~> new relationship at the end of their friendship.

    I don't know.

  • @vuongnh0607l Im probably waay off but umm I thought "End with the beginning" meant that while they're time at school has ended now a new part of her life will begin, with her boyfriend by her side, or something along those lines.

  • My my :) I'll always <3 songs sung by humans. Although Miku's songs are awesome, songs with emotions are 'awesome-er'. :D

  • What is Nagi ??

  • @theholyrevenger Yanagi Nagi is the singer of this song.

  • @theholyrevenger

    ..its WHO is Nagi..

Yananagi Nagi is a Japanese Singer and she singed this song and many others.

  • This has got to be a sequel song to Melt (like Oshiete Ageru to World is Mine). Which is just super sweet. <3

  • @tozoku

Let's promise is often considered a sequel to this one.

  • 卒業式で歌いたい

  • oooh

i wanna play this song on piano if i knew how (_ _||)

  • Nagi.. Nagi..

    Spring Onion??

  • @MidnightRedemption That's negi.

  • @strawberrygurl24 ahh... thanks :)

  • thank you for translating

  • reminds me of bakemonogatari actually hahaha.

  • Doesn't this remind you of 5 centimeters per second?

  • @DarkDeath1994 YESS!! xD

  • Nagi is so cool. :D And her voice sounds almost EXACTLY like Gumi's! Compare this version to Gumi's cover, and you'll be surprised at how similar they are. Of course, Nagi's human voice is better, though. :)

  • 'wakanaiyo...'

    ohhhh the chills :D

  • oh god the audio encoding makes me want to cry ;_;

  • Such an amazing singer. Defiantly buying this CD! Thank you for the videos to introduce me! :)

  • 5:00 - 5:45 is just wonderful

  • @ALeXzJon Indeed. It sounds almost like a script taken out of a beautifully executed drama.

  • really love this song...supercell is the best...^^

  • going to love super cell

  • tis song is so amazing ! i can't believe she can sing for 6 mins ! Supercell rocks !

  • is this an ending for an anime? if so,. what one :D

  • @kionayamagata No it's not.

  • sad to hear what happened to japan :(

  • Why did 2 people bother to dislike this video?? It's such a good song!!

  • @xXLovelyAnimeGirlXx

Japanese-haters.... they're all over the internet and are still continuing to do anything against the Japanese as you read this.

  • aww this is sweet<3 i love it.

  • It's like listening to a shojo manga~

  • this song touched my heart

  • I told my friend to show this video to his girlfriend.

She enjoyed it quite a bit.

My friend thanked me for being thoughtful.

The song is also incredibly creative.

From a short romance experience to a lyrically remarkable song.

    Supercell, you are my inspiration.

  • I think sayonara(さよなら) is not farewell,good bye,see you.

im japanese but its hard to explain.

  • Farewellは、旅立つ人へ向けた別れの言葉なので、合ってるんじゃないかと思う。

    曲中に「あと少ししたら、もうここには戻れないのに」とあるし。

  • I really love this song, reminds me of a guy I like ^^

  • A mini-love-story transformed into a beautiful song... what creativity...

  • I just want Ryo-Supercell to get a youtube channel, so I can watch all of his videos as soon as they are available. Sifting through youtube for his work is so tiring! Not that it isn't worth it though ;) But his channel sure would be successful.

  • I wonder if Ryo is always heartbreaking >:O

  • @xinni247 mayb...because all of his song is a sad song...

  • 2 of those ppl who doesnt like this gota hell

  • Does this things happen regularly in Japan? I'm curious. Such touching unrequited love stories. =) If only reality was that awesome. OMG I'm a nerd!!

  • I'm so glad I found out about this band. They're amazingly talented and original.

  • This song made me cry TT_TT it's so beautiful, i don't know if feeling happy or sad... It's awesome indeed

  • her voice is so beautiful, awesome XD

  • where can i download the mp3? shes Nagi right? i love her voice, awesome <3

  • The way this song is structured is so awesome. It's very nonchalant in the beginning when she sings about the cherry blossoms back in he memories. As the song goes on, it's just builds and builds (the stuttering part is cute) til she finally says "sukideshita" which Nagi sings very nicely with the little fall at the end and is my favorite part (well, it is the climax of the song) :) Thanks for translating!

  • I can listen to this song over and over again.

Nagi's voice is just amazing :]

  • supercell is a group of music?

  • i dont understand a single thing!!!!

but im addicted to the song!!!!!

  • sorry if im wrong, but is it Nagi singing this or they use someone else? (Nagi sung LOVE & ROLL also by supercell)

  • @2F4C3DH4R3 yep Nagi is singing this

  • Can't beat emotions :)

  • I love Supercell's piano!

  • I love the illustration! beautful!

  • oh sweet, i guessed the last few lines right with my knowledge of japanese from anime. lol

  • この曲は素敵です

  • i fall deeper in love wif suprecell

  • god supercell stop making me almost cry

  • つこい! だいすき でした。

(Is that correct japanese? i'm not sure, but i really love the song.)

  • @sakichan131bellkid uh. is that spost ta be sugoi? and deshita is past tense if thats what u were tryin ta do..

  • @kuraiaibaranotsuki Wow, do you even know how type proper english, i know what deshita is, no it was not what i was trying to say.

  • @sakichan131bellkid haha, fuck you ^^

It's rich how you're critcizing my english while you can't even punctuate properly.

and usually in japanese, it's that of which you currently love, jackass.

  • @kuraiaibaranotsuki GO TO HELL

I hate *****'s Like you, i Don't need your freakin lessons, which you suck at so go

    **** yourself.

  • @sakichan131bellkid hey now, I'm just retaliating here, not trying to start a messed up debate on who's right or wrong so just drop it here because I'm sure we both have better things to do then argue with eachother over youtube. I'm sorry again if I offended you.

  • @kuraiaibaranotsuki Alright, just next time, please don't start flaming

  • @sakichan131bellkid せろuを何今言っイムご存知ですか?

  • @kuraiaibaranotsuki そのok

  • @sakichan131bellkid almost. the beginning is 'sugoi'. (sorry my computer doesn't have japanese on it). you got 'tsugoi'.

  • @sakichan131bellkid i think theres no bad intention he/she just want to correct ur japanese kay?^^

  • Lots and lots of feelings in this. Genuine and true.

  • really good song. what i like about this music is how they express a feeling is just unique =D

  • This song is amazing XD, Supercell's songs always give me goosebumps.

It's also really fun to play on piano!!

  • great song, nice lyrics ^_^ n' sawako is rly well sorted to this song

  • How do you pronounce "memories" in Japanese?

  • @rappwr "Omoide" or "kioku" but in this case the title of the song is actually "Sayonara Memories" (memoriizu).

  • @lygerzero0zero since you seem to know a bit more than me, maybe you can tell me why in almost every Japanese song they include a phrase or two in English?

  • @IrkenEliteLana Whooo there is no way that's I can cover everything in a single YouTube comment.

There is no single answer to explain such a broad cultural trend, really. The fact that English is mandatory starting middle school in Japan is almost certainly a factor, since that means most people, especially young people, are familiar with it. As for the rest of the answer, you could probably write a thesis on it and not cover everything.

  • @lygerzero0zero haha thanks! I was beginning to feel like an idiot because I was consistently unable to answer that question. I feel much better about it now. I didn't know English was mandatory in Japan. In many ways I wish it was mandatory to learn Japanese here instead of trying to do it on my own in my own time. It is such a beautiful language.

  • cool.. i'll check the cd later .. when i have vacation..

  • Thanks for uploading!!

  • It took me forever to buy this CD.

It would've been faster if I could read Japanese.

It was worth it though! (even knowing I could've just downloaded the song)

Do you see the point I'm making?!

  • @Parqueiininja If you had trouble navigating Japanese sites, CDJapan is in English. It's where I got my copy of the CD.

  • @lygerzero0zero

.......I really wish I knew that before hand.

But hey, it was worth it!

  • @lygerzero0zero Can you also get anime music there? I really want some on my ipod, but I don't want to just download :|

  • @LucidDivinity Yup, they stock tons of anime music. Right now I'd actually recommend Play-Asia because they stock almost everything CDJapan does and have cheaper overseas shipping generally, but it depends on where you live.

  • @lygerzero0zero You said "it depends on where you live for shipping from Play-Asia" right? Would you happen to know if they ship to Canada?

  • @TheEvilcoolaidMan21 I'd be surprised if they didn't. When I said it depends, I meant the cost of shipping, not whether or not they do it. If they can ship to the US, I'm sure they can ship to Canada too. :)

  • I love it!!!!!!!!!!!11 The image totally fits into the song!

  • woah, Supercell has like, um, 11 members(eh, soccer team??) but it only has one lyricist and musician and all the others are like illustrations and animations/photography or designs. Can we call this a band? (BTW love their songs)

  • The passion and emotion in this song is overwhelming... I've said it in the past and I still agree with it now; ryo is an amazing composer and lyricist and nagi is an amazing singer. Supercell as a whole is one of my favourite music groups and they've got the talent and passion to justify it...

The whole song told a heartwarming story, and the strange thing is, it's only a 6-minute song and I still empathized with and cheered for the singer's character... it's touched me that much. :S I'm wierd

  • too good to be true <3 so touched :)

  • What a beautiful voice! 1 listen to this song and Im now hooked =D

  • lol, the picture matches its PV. Character an all.

  • @Maihime811 Well, it is the album art. ^^;;

  • This is a vocaloid singing?

  • @ChampandSean Nope. Supercell's 2nd major single, vocalist is Nagi.

  • @ChampandSean

nope...but listen to the gumi version..so real..

    D:

  • @ChampandSean Nope. Its supercell ^_^ aren't they awsome?

  • Someone should sing this in English. It would be awesome!

  • @AnimeLoverFan2

    yes i agree

i wrote out all the english sub into one piece

but i hope somebody can sing it <3

  • supercell ssongs really hit the spot...want them to team up with hatsune miku again

  • @Bepanthen3 You'll be pleased to know that they're going to. Supercell is doing the opening theme for Project Diva Second, featuring Hatsune Miku, and the single comes out in July.

  • @lygerzero0zero really?0.0 oh my God I m in C-9, cant wait for that single thanks u made my day my u blessed throughout ur entire life^^

  • @lygerzero0zero actually supercell and staffs is the one who gave birth of Miku Hatsune that's why its like all the copyright of Miku belongs to supercell and it's like its the studio of miku after all ehheheehe

  • @PureOwnMyAge ... I'm afraid you're a little misinformed. Vocaloid was invented by Yamaha, Hatsune Miku was created by Crypton Future Media, and Supercell is a group of creators consisting of one musician (ryo) and several artists that started off producing music using the Vocaloid 2 software. Just check the Wikipedia article on Vocaloid if you want to know more.

  • man this song rocks as expected of supercell( i meant the vocalist) like kimi no shiranai monoagatari...

the voice is so beautiful cant stop listening to it every minute.

  • hey guys whats the title of this song please tell me I want this song so badly

  • "suki deshita" love that part

  • this song has an unexpected twist. When i heard the first 60 secs. i thought, what a slow song, then 1:40....didn't see that coming. Supercell you are awesome

  • this is Nagi singing rite? or is it someone else???

  • That's nagi, yes.

  • @reallifesk8terboi yep, its nagi/gazelle

  • 4:36 to 4:47 is so beautiful. you can hear the emotion in her voice when she sings "wakanaiyo~"

    amazing lyrics.

  • @russtheinsomniac yes. sent chills down my spine. not kidding.

  • とても素敵な歌と思います ♥

  • its hard to make song that can really hit ppl's hearts as good as this one you noe...

its like how artists spend their lives creating art but only a few are masterpieces...

And this is one of those masterpieces xD really made me FEEL the song rather then just listening to it

  • thank you for the great lyrics translation and video! :D it looks amazing!

  • its just as amazingly fucking mega awesome as kimi n shiranai monogatari. no more no less.... and im glad :3

  • It really an awesome song T_T

If you compare "Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari" with Sayonara memories, they have the same premise but the first decides not to tell while this decides to say it.

But in the real world, they are both sad ending lolz

  • @mobilearmour Maybe its an alternate ending ;)

  • such an awesome song

  • Yay! Subs! Thanks for uploading

  • I love this ^^

  • Wow

The song went as a full story with no backtracking! I am Amazed.

Thank you for the upload ^_^

  • どっかからとってきたでしょ。

    最初の動画、supercellのさよならメモリーズって言うサイトでみたことあるぞ

  • Thank for Sub
