Sorry but you are not doing this procedure in a sterile way. During the first suction the nurse is allowing the catheter to rub on the towel and clothing as it is being inserted and therefore is no longer sterile and should be discarded. The catheter should be used only once and then discarded. They are all clearly marked single use only!
