  • C I A O ! For now.... LOL

  • I just got palpitations watching this. Holy cow, these women would scare the crap out of anybody!

  • Also, I just love her Dominique's accent in this show. She sounds glamorous "Old Hollywood"...like Norma Shearer and early Bette Davis <333

  • I want to be in show if they remake it. Calls agent LOL

  • Do you think they'll reboot this, like they're doing with Dallas? It might be interesting to see how this generation's Carringtons and Colbys compare to their predecessors

  • get it diahann she was a bad bit@@

  • A sizzeling moment in TV. I dont know why but I think guys should not pay it one $#^$^* we have our own means of dealing. Silly broads :)

  • u get the feeling that rupaul modelled his female persona after diahann carroll/dominique deveraux?? catch this scene and tell me whether im right or wrong.

  • these women are so intimidating. i would be scared of them

  • First of all, forget like, I LOVED this scene! Secondly I love when Dominique said, 'Ciao, for now,' lol so cool and so sleek she slipped right out of the room as mysteriously as she came in. Wow to the ciao!

  • Mizz Dominque is NO class act, but a troublemaker and delusional......also a SECOND RATE LOUNGE ACT!

  • @50what is she saying? A friend thinks she said "clothes and jewels" but she is looking at champagne glass as she says it. Sounds like she said "clofesen jewels." Type of glass?

  • @musclenigga09 She was saying, " Do you think these clothes and jewels are those of your everyday journalist?" She looked at the glass, because she examining the champagne. Note that Alexis drinks it before her and doesn't realize that her champagne is inferior.

  • @August1664 hmm "interesting" and "colorful" comments. Listen to her closely. I don't think she said "clothes". Maybe..but doesn't sound liek it.

  • Was Diahann only signed for a few episodes? It's a shame they didn't develop the character.

  • Talk about meeting a match

  • I love me some Diahann Carroll. She is a class act!

  • Get it girl

  • That's a bad ass fur piece she's got on

  • @medstudent42 I totally agree.

  • you weren't invited I sent for you.

    lol

  • I am 23 and a woman and while I knew of Ms. Carroll, I am in awe of her class and beauty from watching clips of this show! I don't see too much of this from black actresses anymore and I wish there were more! Such a supreme woman!

  • @holla06 It was before the age of political correctness and before identity politics entered mainstream :-(

  • @holla06 Miss Carroll always imbued her characters with this regal quality. I suspect it's because that quality is innate to who she is as a person.

  • weeerrrkk bitches

  • Catfights!! RAWRRR

  • WHY AM I OVER HERE GOOGLING PETROSSIAN BELUGA CAVIAR! Told me something I dont know...lool!

  • "It's burned!!!!!"

  • This is the issue I think the writers had. They may have wanted to make Dominique into a super bitch to compete with Alexis, HOWEVER- at the time black actresses in a show like Dynasty were rare so what it would look like if the most recognisable black actress on tv was playing a money grabbing bitch out to disrupt the wealth of white brother's family.

The writers did the right thing by making her a nice person BUT more could have been done to strengthen her character.

  • Wow,I was a kid when this show came out in the 80's. I was just doing some research on Diane Carroll here on U-Tube and came across this. I am watching tv at the moment but found myself glude to this instead. Now I see why my mom wanted to hurry up and put me to bed when this came on...lol

  • Glamour!

  • @yesblanche SHEER UNADULTERATED UNCUT GLAMOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR!

  • Diahann Carroll, Vanessa Williams, Angela Bassett are true divas who continue to blaze trails for women!

  • petrosian beluga lol

  • it's called a battle !

  • Nobody has more class than a sister with class........I guess that's why this redneck married one..(wink)....

  • @terrryc That's a true statement, my mother could give lessons in elocution and social decorum to the Queen of England.

  • From what I've read & heard, the writers thought about making Dominique either Cecil's 1st wife or Kirby's mother. I personally think they should've did both of these things instead of making her Blake's sister, b/c both of those other plotlines would've dished up better material: Dominique sueing Alexis for shares in ColbyCo, getting involved in Colby affairs & messing w/ not only Alexis but also Sable, & being a mother to Kirby (both Kathleen Beller & Diahann had the exact same bone structure)

  • Love how Dominique "insults" Alexis. "Burnt champagne and second-rate caviar? Cheap b*tch".

  • where the hell is guhstrat!!!

  • @madrobin It's Gstaad (it's in Switzerland)

  • @Suzeism THANX!!

  • ...actually, I've just been informed Osetrova means "of Osetra"...color me purple!

  • @LBraunhaus Yes Osetrova is indeed a type of caviar. The egg of Beluga are larger than that of Osetrova.

  • Me, again! I have searched for "OSSETROVA" caviar, and found no such product. My guess is she could not demean the ever popular OSSETRA caviar by preferring PETROSSIAN-BELUGA. Perhaps some legal nonsense...

  • @LBraunhaus No, it's real. Ossetra is cheaper than Beluga, hence Dominique's comment...

  • You are clearly a Dynasty addict, as I am. What about the scene where Krystal and Alexis are at some "facial" spa, and Krystal overheard Alexis gossip and slings mud in her face! It's fabulous. Can't find it anywhere...

  • love the "burned" champagne & caviar exchange and the way these two go tit for tat... dominique left alexis picking up her face off of her penthouse floor in this scene!

  • Relentless fur use and shoulder pads to the max. Loved the 80's

  • Damn Diahann Carroll is gorgeous :)

  • @kiddiequeenofmotown i was fortunate a few years ago to be sitting at a table next to her in a restaurant and she is STILL beautiful. we exhanged a few pleasantries. will never forget that moment.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL Alexis got her azz handed to her in her own penthouse, LMAO!!

  • Lol you know Alexis was handling herself well until Dominique insulted the champagne and caviar...NOW it's on ;)

  • Diahann Carroll is one of the most beautiful actresses that ever lived.

  • I love how @3:00 she says "you will find out very soon...very soon"....reminds me of someone who fucked with me....who is about to get fucked majorly.....in time....in due time.

  • Whatever. I don't care what ANYONE says, Dominique trumped Alexis in this scene. She doesn't in all their scenes together but she DEFINITELY owned THIS scene!

  • My favorite show ever!!! I love Joan Collins and Diahann Carroll was great here.

  • Who could not love Dominique I live my life the way she protrayed up front, honest and never sugar coated

  • Most memorable line from that scene has to be .ciao..FOR NOW! , and i just loved alexis open mouth at the end. such a BITCH!

  • Poor Diahann. The writing already showed that Alexis was and would remain the center around which everyone revolved.

  • Dominique and Alexis SO hated each other! It was awesome! I really wonder....if their attitudes about each other bled over into real-life....

    ;-)

  • Pretty young girls being bitchy to one another pales in comparison to this wicked confrontation.

  • 80s tv at its finest!!! thanks for posting!

  • forrrrrrrrr nowwwwww

  • "OMG....can you say amazing acting. Diahann Carroll a.k.a. Carroll Diahann (which is her real name) served it up with superb excellence for this scene and every scene for this show. She is one of the best all-around versitale actresses in the business, even though she always seems to play this type of character in any role i've seen her in.

I now understand why Vanessa L. Williams is being hailed in the media as the modern-day Diahann Carroll. She's plays the same type of characters like her.

  • This scene is priceless.

  • Both women are very glamourous, yet Ms. Caroll embodies class of the highest magnitude!!!!!

  • the expression on Alexis' face 3:37 implies that even she was impressed with Miss Devereaux's style, wit and tenacity.

  • go dynasty go!!!

  • @FlowerDrumS0ng Petrossian Beluga is the rarest type of Beluga available, with an extremely small production and prices reaching almost $25,000 per kilogram.

  • Friend Hubby and I watched some old Dynasty this weekend. Such polite venom. :-D LOL

  • "CIAO!" "For now!" The best line in the entire show delivered by Academy Award Nominee Diahann Carroll in one of her many flawless performances. Such class and beauty.

  • lmao yes ! she was not playing lmao i liked this scene

  • Ms. Carroll is such a talent I lov ehe was the best thing on the show!

  • groovy tv in the background!!! and love the lucite barstools!!!

  • Will somebody PLEASE get this bitch some Petrossian Beluga:)!! Dominique served, and Alexis ate it up.

  • @urgrad03 LMAO that shit is classic. WOW when I was a kid I had no clue now I the writing was beast on this show.

  • @urgrad03 lol

  • "I Really wouldn't know: this is Ossetrova, and i prefer Petrosian Beluga" WORK IT GIRL! FABULOUS

  • I wouldn't know, this is Osetrova...and I prefer Petrossian beluga.

  • "It''s Burned!".... Dominique could just as easily have made that grande exit right then and there.

  • Timeless.

  • SERVE!!!

  • It's a shame the show was canceled before Diahann could make a return appearance. I could just see her teaming up with Sable to make Alexis miserable.

  • Kuntie! ;)

  • and my young friends dare to wonder why I absolutely DESPISE Reality TV programmes. Soap's Flash & Trash Extraordinaire by 2 of our generations finest actresses.

  • and people wonder why I DESPISE reality TV.

Class Flash and Trash , by 2 our generations greatest actresses.

  • "I wouldn't know, this is osetrova and I prefer Petrossian beluga" hahaha Brilliant! One of the best put-downs in "Dynasty" ever!

  • lol. "I don't like you." hahaha. She gets right to the point.

  • dominique and alexis together was always a treat :D

  • WOW!! You better work, Diahann!!!

  • only small yachts! shade

  • I'm Blake's sister, BITCHHHHHHHH!

  • Reading with class!! Serve!

  • Werk Children! Twirl and be Fierce!

  • The individual who uploaded this scene was in error that Diahann Carroll and her character Domonique Deveraux did not live up to the potential, Ms. Carrol as usual was flawless in her memorable performance...A woman of distinction and classic elegance...oooh la laaaaa...

  • @cephas39 Correction - the individual who uploaded this scene does think the actress was flawless and memorable, but it was the writers who failed her miserably by giving her weak material unworthy of her immense potential. Especially in her latter appearances as you'll soon see in the "Dominique" series on my channel.

  • @LBColby I strongly agree with you....And i dont think Domonique character was a failer..

  • @LBColby touche! lol stinkin writers...lol

  • @LBColby i agree she should have gotten the colbys as her own show

  • @LBColby Wow! I couldn't agree more. The writers started her off strong and then somewhere along the line, they watered her character down. A woman of her distinctive elegance and sophistication was certainly deserving of better material. After all she did say in an interview that she wanted to be "The First Black Wealthy Bitch" on TV.

  • @alexanderdiaz1 I completely agree. She started giving dat same ol tired speech of how sh had fought plenty of people worse den Alexis. (lol yea right). I think after she coughed up da blood on stage was da beginning of da end 4 her. Da writers also did not know wat 2 do wit her love life either. Wit all dat sed dis is 1 of her best scenes on da show and da only time I saw a hint of fear in Alexis's eyes.

  • I Have one thing to say, THESE BIYACHES BETTA WORK!..lol LOVE IT!, And Diahann Carroll is wearing the HELL out that Outfit.

  • Fabulous Bitches!

  • But you wouldn't serve Osetrova to someone who knows their caviar. The hint in that scene was Dominque obviously pulled a couple things off the shelf to serve her unknown guest....only to find out the guest was a lot more knowledgeable than she bargained for.

This put the character in the position of being on the defensive...a place that Alexis Colby had no grasp for.

This show was absolute genius..10 cuts above Dallas.

  • The Caviar exchange between them both is just genius

  • I agree.

  • I love this show LOL and that's all i've got to say....

  • That pose Dominique gave in the elevator!!! She was serving!!!

  • @topleasure YESSSSSS!!!!

  • @topleasure lol yes. DIVA!

  • @topleasure: LMAO! you know I had another friend talk about he very same thing! NO ONE did it like her ;o)

  • I don't understand, (I'm not exactly savvy on how champagne and other alcholic drinks work particularly becuase I'm not a drinker) how can champagne be burned if it was frozen??

  • Once champagne has been frozen, it can and most likely will lose its "taste". A simple way to describe it is like freezing a bottle of soda, then allowing it to thaw. The "taste" of the soda will have lost its "flavor" due to the freezing/thawing process. Just a simpler way of describing what "burned" means in this instance.

  • Oh, I see. Thank you.

  • @Jakegothicsnake

...precisely what quothi said... you just have to think of the phrase "freezer burn", as we would usually apply it to food. The after effect leaves a very bland, tasteless result... it's shameful for the host/hostess to serve an indication of complete disregard for their guests' pleasure and comfort...or just a plain sign that they have no knowledge of general culinary ettiquette...

  • Bitch slapping at its best!

  • Actually, these ladies are holding their flutes properly. They are sitting, so holding your flute by the stem while sitting doesn't allow for "balance".

  • You said this wasn't a social evening so whatever it was I enjoyed myself throughly.

  • DOMINIQUE!

  • These ladies do NOT know how to hold their champagne flutes! he he The 80s!

  • i have a book written by diahann carroll in 2008 called "the legs are the first to go" and if anyone would like to buy contact me thru youtube

  • i read that book, it was really good

  • This scene rocked!

  • Alexis got served, lol

  • 0:58 is everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dominique wasn't no muh-fuckin joke...

She said insulted the Champagne calling it burnt and she doesn't eat Asatrov Caviar, but Petrosium Beluga...I love it. Alexis couldn't handle Dominique Deveraux

  • dominique deveraux was one of the few ppl who could keep up with alexis and stand up to her.

  • I'm sure Diahann Carroll said they stopped writing good scripts for her character when they canned The Colbys and put Stephanie Beacham in Dynasty to be Alexis's main nemesis. Brits are better at being bitchy and OTT with it so she didn't stand a chance.

  • I agree.

Although it seems Diahann Carroll (a no-nonsense sophisticated black woman) would be the ideal foe for Alexis, I found Sable to be a more formidable villian.

To me, Dominique was just decoration.

  • I must agree, although I did like Dominique in her debut...lol

  • she could have been but they didn't develop her character (Dominique) to really be a formidable foe, sad, she was just there as you said for decoration.

  • but she was so fucking gorgeous...it'still amazing me to this day!

  • True, i agree w/you :-)

  • I totally disagree...You have to remember that it was the 80's and that having a purely evil black character like Alexis or J.R would not have gone down very well with the African American community and the politically correctness of the time. A good actor is a good actor regardless of his/her nationality.

  • We WANTED Dominque to be a thorough bitch in those days, there was never a character like before that. A black person (man or woman) who was a formidable threat and an equal to a very sophisticate to the white establishment.

That statement reeks of being clueless of the times then. I'm guessing you're either not black, or you don't remember the 80's well.

This was the Regan era, and those were characters of the times..wealthy, beautiful, and greedy. Being a bitch was a plus!

  • Since Dominic role did not live up to its early promises, the producers of the show obviously did not give a rat's arse about what you wanted!!!

  • yeah but she did F all lol herself and the actress acted all Ohh i'm playing a great bitch to add something.... when really she pretty much did nothing only lost to alexis like everybody else :P

  • 2:15 -2:35 had me dying!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ciao for now! LOL i love them both!

  • very well written sceneand played to the hilt by joan and diane...excellent!!!!!!

  • dOMINIQUE dEVEREAUX= 1...aLEXIS cOLBY= 0

  • is all of the show taken from ''FiLoLi''california?

  • I think for the most part the show was filmed on a set and the outside house shots were at Filoli. That's my dream house, but estates such as that are EXPENSIVE to maintain. I'd need Bill Gates' money to have that home and probably would still have to offer tours of the estate to maintain it...lol.

  • Bring it Baaaaaack!!!!!

  • I would have loved to be on the floor underneath these two regal queens, serving them as their footslave.

  • gross!!

  • I want Dominique's outfit....that was in the 80's, but it would look good even today.

  • Bitchery in the extream.

  • This show kicked ass! I never missed an episode.

  • Dominique was the baddest bitch!!! :)

  • That scene was too good!!!

    Dynasty rocked!!!

  • Diahann is a living doll. Pure Class.

  • yes, blake and dominique were half brother and sister

  • What I found funny is that Dominique managed to say that Alexis was one of the planet's natural beauty without cracking up! Both are sitting there in wigs and tons of makeup, bras and what else holding them together and talk about natural beauties.LOL! Still, the battle of the bitches it's fun to watch even after all these years!

  • LOL - that is exactly what I thought when I first saw this clip, lol!

  • They're both really natural beauties then and now, only that line was so off.

  • That may be true. However, even though it was television, how many their age have themselves put together?

  • That's true. It is to be admired how someone stays strong in staying young-looking and vibrant, which has a lot more to do with plastic surgery, makeup or wigs, it's the joi de vivre from inside. Joan Collins has proven that til this day.

As for Diahann Carrol she has beaten cancer and that makes her a great survivor.

  • but joan collins was beautiful inher young years........butin order to have good work done you have to have good stuff to start with...........miss carrol was a natural beautiful.......again she had good stuff to start with.thats why her work looks good inher 70s.

  • Joan Collins will always be beautiful no matter how old she gets. She has discovered that every age has its enchantment and lives her her own rules. She still a fascinating creature.

  • DIVAs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DC, played the shit out of that role... I remember seeing her for the first time and I was like damn a black woman can be classy, beautiful, intelligent and bitchy... It was great... now all we is Flavor of Love chics... lmao

  • anyone that stands a chance with having a conversation with Alexis has to be a bitch..thats why i love Dominique and Krystle..
