  • dis a amazing but ventures do it better

  • is it voers aussi by the shadows ? à je ne sais plus quel années ?

  • If you want to hear the original m"Walk-Don't Run " from 1959 (pre-1960) w/ John Babbett on the drums...check out my upload from last week.

This version is good, but a bit harsh on the ol' ear holes...Thanks for the upload!

  • Through the magic of the internet I listened today to John Barry on Desert Island Discs (BBC Radio 4, June 1999). I was disappointed to hear from Barry that he hated the John Barry Seven and all that is stood for. He only did it as a stepping stone to better things. Thanks a lot John. I know the people like me who bought your records and admired you were only punters, but you could have kept your thoughts to yourself.

  • IT WAS THE NIGHT AT BATH PAVILLION ! The Tea Lady said you see that lovely blond girl, she's got the clap ? The John Barry Seven were here a few weeks ago. COLIN DALE RADIO SUTCH.

  • Sorry but the Ventures version is better. The lead guitar on this version is dreadful & sounds dead! Also the rhythm is slightly out of tune. As a Brit I would like to say they were better than the Ventures but unfortunately not.

  • good beat, but the guitar sounds like its playing through a dying amp

  • great record first tune i learnt on the guitar

  • The better version, I think.

  • @phlipnet - I agree. Barry gets the tempo just right. I actually bought this record in 1960 - which I'd kept it!

  • I bought this version because I hadn't heard the Ventures doing it, I've always liked this band, Vic Flick is a great guitar player.

  • My first 45 !!! Still love this version !
