  • They don't mention on this commercial what happens when Dolly Surprise's arm gets stuck in the "up" position. The child gets bored with it and colors her face with a marker.

  • I sooo miss the 80s man!

  • my farts are SNIFFERRIFIC.

  • am I the only one here, who when we would fart would make fun of the "snifferiffic" quaker oatmeal commercial.

  • I still have those Muppet baby plushies!!! woo!

  • "don't worry, it will be our secret," said the pedophile.

  • "Is it just me, or did we just randomly break into song and dance in public back in the 80's? I just don't remember doing that, but maybe I did..."

Spontaneous singing sounds like fun. If the Fraggles could do it...XD

"Yeah, I LOVE corn pops too but I don;t see them every where I freaking go! That, my friends, is an addiction."

No different than the Rabbit's love for Trix, The "Kid" & "girlfriend" Sue being similar to Popeye with Cheerios, or the kids at the Honeycomb Hideout.

  • "Why would an animal disguise itself as another animal to escape a pet shop? Wouldn't it make more sense to dress up like a human being?"

No. The cafs' purpose was to get adopted, but since most owners picked other animals over them, leaving them alone and unloved, they took drastic measures to get the homes they wanted so badly. They were so popular, in fact, that besides the dolls, they also had a Story-On-Tape.

  • mighty mouse!

  • The CornPops commercial reminds me of when I was 4 years old and could not wait to get home after school to have a bowl.

  • oh man, i miss the 80s

  • I'd eat that Corn Pops dog.

  • 2:13 I think that kid may have a pop-problem

  • I had forgotten about the "snifferific" instant oatmeal. Which is probably for the best.

  • I want to be a kid again

  • Take me back to 1988! The Quaker Oatmeal commercial song is the same key and tempo as the Nickolodean bumpers.

  • Oh, man. That Corn Pops kid has PROBLEMS.

  • pure nostalgia gold.

  • That snifferiffic Quaker Oatmeal song i still cannot get out of my head till this day.

  • I remember all the commercials. I remember the tang commercial begged my mom and dad to get it for me they did and after that it tasted horrible LOL Commercials aren't like they used to be. I miss those days. Cartoons were your life back then. I miss the 80s.

  • Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!! Why don't they continue to make Mcdonald's extra stuff as awesome as that?!?!

  • Aww! I have Baby Kermit!

  • saturday morning cartoons are just not the same

  • @Ottawa4everXX

    you've got that right

  • is it just me, or did that kid just KICK a boy in a wheelchair? Guess this was before the PC era of respect for the disabled....

  • @ikthos77: No duh. This was the 80's, when the War on Drugs--funny that, considering commercials like the "Poppin in My Head" Corn Pops or "Wacky Wild Kool-aid Style" Kool-aid (Oh Yeah!)--was more important. The mega TOON crossover, Cartoon-All-Stars to the Rescue, was living (or rather, animated) proof.

  • Oh my God! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The Campbell's commercial @3:55 was something I did when I was like 6-7. I haven't seen this in SOOOO long. Thank you for this!

  • damn , i reel sorry for my son , cuz the shit he wakes up 2 is garbage ! thank god 4 the internet cuz now i can put him on

  • yep...we can

  • Comment removed

  • Commercial's were so catchy and interesting to watch to me the best commercials were the 80's til the early mid 90's

  • I clearly remember so many of these commercials, especially the Pops one!

  • For 20 year old commercials, they don't seem to look *that* old.

Not nearly as jarring as watching something from the '70s twenty years later in the '90s.

  • WTVR 6, then WWBT 12!

  • SNIFF! SNIFFERIFFIC -- Instant Quaker Oatmeal! LOL

  • 21 years ago. i was about 5-years-old when these commercials were on.

  • Wow, a commercial for Quaker oatmeal without our buddy Wilford Brimley....

  • I had baby Fozzie, Dolly Surprise!

  • i had all the muppet babies to bad i lost them as i got older.

  • Same here. They all sat under my tree during my elementary school years, and now they're all gone.

  • awhhh sucks huh getting older!

  • I really don't understand the concept behind "pretenders". Why would an animal disguise itself as another animal to escape a pet shop? Wouldn't it make more sense to dress up like a human being?

  • lol, i still have those muppet babies toys from mcdonalds.

  • I've got 2 of the Purr-tenders toys and I've also got the book

  • This stuff's great w/methadone

  • I still have my christmas miss piggy,I still love her.

  • I bet the ASPCA would be all over "Purrtenders" now-a-days lol

It looks like Dolly Surprise is pooping out hair from the top of her head.

    Bring it back!

  • snifferrific? lol

  • I remember most of these commercials for being only 4 at the time lol

I had a Purr-tender and thought it was the most amazing thing in the world

  • Is it just me, or did we just randomly break into song and dance in public back in the 80's? I just don't remember doing that, but maybe I did...

  • omg! I just noticed i had that growning hair doll too hahaha

  • So that's where I got miss piggy! for the longest time i wondered where she came from...still have her..with the dress tho lol

  • my sister had piggy then she it to me, because that was my fav muppet not to be gay or anything ha!

  • Good times, great taste, coz mom and dad dont have time to waste; cooking you healthy food!

  • The Purr-tenders! OMG, talk about identity crisis!

About the Corn Pops commercials: Yeah, I LOVE corn pops too but I don;t see them every where I freaking go! That, my friends, is an addiction.

  • I forgot about the old M&M colors.

    This is great

  • I hated that they took away the tan ones. I wish they could've had both blue & tan and not one or the other.

Jello Gelatin Pops were also fucking awesome. Fruit Wrinkles raisin shaped fruit snacks were also fucking great.

  • It's all about the Corn Pops!

  • Me 4!

  • "Hello, President Clinton? I'd figure if anybody knows where to get some Tang, it'd be you. Shut up!"

  • I miss being a kid in the 80s!! How can I be 30??

  • tell me about it. I was born in '77.

  • You know, I'm not one of those 20somethings who's always leaving comments on these videos saying "Man, things were so pure and innocent back then," but in the case of kids' commercials, I have to say it's true. These commercials are talking to a kid demographic that was far less savvy and irony-drenched than the kids of today. It's a pretty dramatic change.

I'm not sure if it's the kids of the 00's that are different, or if adults' PERCEPTION of kids is different. Maybe a little of both.

  • @Marbles471 i think all adults are envious of youth and it irritates a lot of (immature) parents so they try and force their kids to be jaded like them. or maybe they think people are impressed with how 'witty' and 'ironic' their 'mature' kids are. I don't think I've heard a parent bad mouth their child in a decade or more. Maybe they're afraid someone will record and report them. It's a very suspicious world today... well be able to see in 10-20 years, I suppose...

  • I had the baby Fozzie! <3 :)
