  • " And remember , after any rider go to buy a new bike"

  • Mr. Monk

  • Why don't you just bubble wrap your bike every time you ride bike -_-

  • "make sure you can touch the ground" is for kids who have just gotten on a bike, its better to have a good pedaling position, so you can get ur muscles used to it, rather than think touching the ground is better.

  • wtf is surgical spirit?

  • ugly nails..u should clean those to

  • Can anyone tell me how to clean off grease on the brake if you get it on by accident?????????????????

  • @GameMaster2565

Have you never cleaned oil from something before? Just use hot soapy water. There are degreasers on the market, but make sure they say they are safe for use on rubber.

  • is a rear light important. pls reply.

  • @darkskullxxx Its important. Its a safety feature of your bike. If you ride your bike during the evening, cars behind you might not see you, especially if you're wearing dark clothing, riding a dark bike.

  • is the hooligan supercycle good for mountain biking?

  • nice pink shoes...

  • Good points for bike fans. Great exercise too.

  • you don't but lube on the cassette and other parts all you need is in between pins and rollers of the chain

  • I LIke Cycling!!!

  • apply lube b4 every ride - good advice :D

  • Using a toothbrush on the braking surface of the rims is a nice idea. Thanks. Also, I did not know there was a proper chain brush available.

  • Just locking your back tire wont prevent me from taking it right away :D

  • Great video! Simple to follow straight forward answers on how to maintin your bike.

  • forks inner legs. This will make the suspension more smooth.

i worked in a bike shop, and I'm a experiensed downhiller, so I know what I'm talking about.

  • Here's a few more tips:

    1. remember that all your bearings and Bottom Bracket need regular checking.

Remove the bottom bracket with the required tool at least once a year. This is smart, because you're prventing water to gather in there.

    /

You can also remove the bottom bracket and drill a small hole right under the bottom bracket, trough the frame, so the water can escape there.

If you do have suspension on your bike, use WD-40 (or such lubes) and spray a little bit on the....

  • @holkemann am i right in thinking that wd40 actually is not really suitable for lubricating chains as it is more of a degreaser than a lubricant personally i think gt30 is one of the most suitable products as a lubricant for bikes

  • imma use some home made lubricant is that ok?

  • i just ride and fix it when its broken. i almost never clean it :P

  • omg soo much work

  • The bike has rust on the wheels and the guy wants to teach us how to take care of a bike. lol

  • ehheh..... 1st of all, it is rusty, and 2nd of all it isn't a 3000 dollar bike. XD

  • *bike

  • oily rag the best way to clean a bke

  • LOL

    "apply lubricant before every ride"

  • @grimwatcher lmao

  • @grimwatcher only for female tho....

  • @grimwatcher yea right.. i will totaly do..

  • cool air maxes

  • Some information on this video is not up-to-date. Information on proper seat height is not correct.

  • hahaahha,reflets:)

  • i keep my bike indoors and it keeps it in better condition than if it was in a cold shed

  • My bike havent been used in a long time. We also do not have a garage so its been outside and the chain is rusty, along with many parts of the bike. Would following this video help or am i better off buying a new bike?

Dont forget to reply from my comment so i can get it!!!

  • you can remove exterior rust from the frame and rims, make sure to get a new chain but one thing that wil probly make or break the bike is rust on th moveable parts of the bike if the chain is rusty then hopefully the derailers

(spelling) and gear componets arent if so and its not exactly a top of the line bike anyway i suggest getting a new one

  • you need wd40

  • hi CyBoi,

ive been restoring and fixing bicycles for a few years now and know what i am talkin about,

the best thing to do is buy a brand new bike and clean it once a week checking that there is no damage to the bike,

replacing any rusty parts can be costly and not worth the hassle, you could also try buying a seecond hand bike from a proffesional bicycle rider as they take care of their bikes,

    hope this helps,

  • what a sloppy lube job, why not just stand back six feet and hose the bike down with oil at that point. Jesus h.

  • damn was this made in 1987?

  • @kameraguy this was not made in 1987 its made in 2007 it says at the en of the video

  • Lol, you're supposed to have someone holding the bike up spinning the wheel while you're greasing you're chain. Far more easier.

  • Doesn't mind what bike he has

its a good video and helps you out...

  • crappy bike :P

  • LMAO. Wheres the bike?

  • lol Firt you need a bike M8

  • how many bikes do you know with "hydrolic shifters"?

  • awesome! thanks, i've been watching tons of videos on how to clean a bike but most vids say you should buy specialized brushes and cleaning tools. it's great to know there's household items you can use. :D

  • i just use a power washer to clean my bike lol much easier

  • thats ok as long as you re-lubricate EVERYTHING after you're done. Also you're likely to strip the stickers on your frame/forks/etc more easily (if that bothers you)

  • really bad quality bike

  • thats what i was thinking lol

  • oh and your brakes are v-brakes big differnce

  • they're cantilever actually

  • HAHAHAHA what a bike! xd

  • yea thats such a downhill bike..great cleaning

  • now peeps with disc brakes and hyrdrulic have containimated them and have to now bleed it well done

  • Bike pajamas... who knew? Thank you, this was very informative.
