Just to confirm for those asking about FPS, I think I have one of the lowest spec computers on the team being a 2.5 Ghz core 2 Duo laptop with an 8800 card, 4GB ram and I get really good frames both in the general PNW area and around the airport in the video. The flickering bridge and 2D images you see are because Cessna appears to have an old build of the airport, as was stated it is a beta product and those issues have been rectified already in new builds.

Hi. I just got my new computer, FSX, and Saitek x52 for Christmas. I installed it and everything worked fine until tonight. My cousin was flying and all of a sudden my computer went black and crashed. My father believes that maybe fsx overloaded the graphics card or something along those lines. Specs:

Compaq presario PC Cq5210F

Processor: AMD Athlon II x2 215 Dual-Core Processor

Memory: 3GB

Hard Drive: 500GB

I was wondering what anyone would think.

The problem was it was running on the startup part, but it was going in a loop and it took a day to get out of it. We were able to restore the computer to the original state when it came out of the box, but nothing more yet.

I'm not sure why Orbx chose this airport. The surrounding scenery looks unique so maybe they felt this airport and town offered them a good opportunity to develop a unique product.

Wow, I think that this is some of the best scenery I've ever seen for FSX. Everything appears extremely realistic in proportion and logistics - apparently modelled from real-life photos. I just couldn't get over how well the river and river banks looked. Trees and shrubs right on the sides of the slopes and shaded underneath. Very cool!

@Cessna154, i dont think they will put it out on CD ROM because that means they have to ship it to you etc, if you really want it on a CD, burn one yourself of the product so if your computer crashes etc, you have it. Im sure Orbyx will understand that we are not going to illegally sell it...

Spectacular scenery. However I notice a trend with top quality scenery addons. They tend to let the greenery of nature dominate the scenery a lot. Even if it's spring or summer their should be some more contrast in the colors. Dirt should look like dirt with it's dark/light brown and sand should look like sand with it's light brown color. They let the green blend into these aspects to much. Even the runway in the video looks green. Still an awesome addon though.

They make good products, but the thing that bugs me a bit is the mix of 3D and 2D. In one part of the vid, you can see 3D cars placed on top of blurry 2D cars that were obviously in the aerial/satellite photos the scenery textures were based on. It's very strange and takes away from the immersion. Also the 2D buildings on the ground look fine from thousands of feet up, but down near the ground they look strange too.

But regardless, it looks way better than default scenery.

I noticed this in the video too but I'm guessing it's because Cessna has his scenery complexity below max. Either that or they haven't finished placing all the 3D scenery objects yet (it's a beta product, after all).
