@MROB923 They are great, great at the genre they do. Pop Punk. They create brilliant guitar riffs but aren't heavily reliant on solos as are all Pop Punk bands. I listen to loads of bands, and no you can't make a song anywhere near as good as FOB, if you could you'd be out there making millions. Yes, I play guitar and have just started to learn bass. I'm not really into Classic Rock tbh, I grew up listening to modern Rock bands.

Also it's not how good you play that gets you famous it's a combination of where you are, who you know, and being there at the right time. Take metallica for example they wouldn't have become famous at all if they wouldn't have been at the exact bar they were at that time. Also metallica isn't the best in difficulty and technique. kirk uses the same thing for his solos in every song.

@MROB923 Also, how can you say FOB write no guitar riffs?? Guitar riffs do not = solos. FOB are heavily reliant on good catchy guitar riffs. I'm sure you've heard of I Don't Care? An excellent, consistant guitar riff on that played from start to finish, Sugar We're Goin Down..the intro..Grand Theft Autumn? There's at least 2-3 different ones on that, Fame < Infamy & I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me (some of their "heavier "songs) with riffs

Also playing different styles of music opens your ability up to new playing styles, like bringing jazz to heavy thrash metal, or blues to rock, or even a classical twist on anything.
