I am not a big supporter of Kennedy, but this debate shows that either of these two former presidents could have been 10x than either W.Bush or B.Obama. Right now I think we need Ron Paul.
I hear a lot of people who say that Kennedy would not have gotten the US involved in the Viet Nam Conflict. 2:40 in to this video is proof of the contrary. Im glad i have the opportunity to see and hear the evidence for myself. Thank you for posting this life changing moment in World History.
@greenpeices The Vietnam conflict began long before Kennedy ever took office. They were shipping WWII supplies from Guam and Midway straight to Haifong harbor after that war was over. The real battle was whether to escalate the war. Kennedy planned a withdrawal of the advisors in his second term via NSAM 263. Google it. In his interview with Walter Cronkite in 1963, he said he didn't think the war was winnable. He was right.
@greenpeices When you understand who controls the world's money supply, you understand how all these wars are started and why they are escalated. They are begun and furthered by people you nor I will ever see. These big money interests, in conjunction with organizations like the CIA, the MOSSAD, are responsible for most of the wars started. Vietnam started with a lie about the Gulf of Tonkin incident, same thing Iraq. Big money interests are at stake. You and I are cannon fodder.
I know Nixon was bad but just so you know, the reason he was sweating was because the room was very hot and stuffy, look at any biography book about Kennedy.
I was born on June 9th, 1994. Many years after this debate. But I know that both of these men were good presidents. Despite Nixon's Watergate incident. I honestly give more respect to the Govt. we had during the fifties early and late sixties. Now look at our Govt. We cannot make a simple decision. We're so deep into debt it would take every American ten years if they all pitched in to pay off. Maybe even longer. I believe it's time for a change. But what do we need or want to change this? Reagan was probably one of the worst presidents to ever govern the U.S. and raised the national debt to where it stands now (he is the main cause of it) and it's too bad that J.F.K. only ruled for 3 years...he would have served 2-terms and could have done a lot more good.
Whoever thinks Obama is doing a terrible job today should remember that he was left to clean up this mess left to him by George W. Bush. Reagan is the birth father of the U.S. national debt..that's what you get with an ex actor
@kristinvernon18 So, somehow Reagan and George Bush made Obama's administration rack up 4 trillion in debt in two and a half years? I find the your use of the word "ruled" interesting. Everything I have seen and read about the leftists of the world has lead me to believe they love to be ruled and controlled, or rule and control. Kennedy was right in stating that Leftist ideas are akin to slavery. I'll take debt any day over slavery.

When JFK said "I'm not satisfied..." he was right, and the USA since then have fixed these problems that JFK said before us. It's such a shame he couldn't finish the job he set out to do
How I would've loved him to become Prime Minister of my homeland- Great Britain. He would've made Great Britain Greater- if only he hadn't turned down the LSE. Imagaine that- the greatest US President educated at the place where I go to!
@pupRu33 I had to do a double take.. the US has fixed these problems? Except on racial civil rights and gay issues, the US is in far worse economic shape than it was in 1960. Americans are far less engaged, educated, independent, and respected than they were 51 years ago.
@disamjisa well, george bush jr ruined their education system. i think both racial and gay issues have got better, but are still unsatisfactory. they're far less respected now, no question. but the republicans have done some good things and have some good presidents. but the republicans get you into trouble, democrats get them out, and it goes round iin circles (buah and obama are examples)
@pupRu33 Obama has got the US out of trouble? Just wondering if you're megarich or something and totally divorced from the economic reality of what is happening in the US?
And also wondering if you're ignorant of the history of the Democratic Party, that they started the wars, that they supported segregation, that they were the party of slavery...
@disamjisa Fail Sir. Congress approves appropriation bills., otherwise no money is spent. The executive branch spends nigh a dime without congressional approval. As far as the segregation, the early democratic party evolved into the modern republican party. The orignial republican party evolved into the current democratic party.
@Montefusco1 The only fail is in your profound lack of understanding of the reality of American politics and political history, and sheer ignorance of the bully pulpit the president inhabits
@disamjisa How do i show a lack of political understanding? Everything has a process, the president cannot simply wave his hand and have something done. He cannot simply say "Let me spend a trillion dollars" and have it happen. Congress must approve of all appropriations, specifically the House. The Republican House. Sir i know how our government works and i know the process. I believe President Obama is in an extremely unfortunate situation, nothing more.
@Montefusco1 Don't call me sir unless you mean it.
No one is saying that the president doesn't require statutory appropriation to obtain funds; what I'm saying is that your comment about the congress appears ignorant of the extremely strong informal political power of the president, and that presidents usually get, for the most part, their way in budget negotiations.
@disamjisa Informal political power of the president? Not since 1965!
The current house is republican. The senate cant talk about their current topic for more than 5 minutes. Executive privilege means nothing anymore. The congress is a joke and has been a joke for years.
@pupRu33 And Bush Jr ruined the education system? The United States' education problems go further back than that.. but you're only 20 and probably don't know that much about history.. just progressive "received wisdom".
I'm no huge fan of the GOP, by any means, but I can;t stand ignorance about the Democratic Party and wishful thinking that they're a great party. For the vast majority of the time since 1932, they have held the congress... they could have made the US progressive if they wanted
@pupRu33 They haven't because the GOP and DNC are two cheeks of the same backside; representatives of the super wealthy and vested interests in the US... anyone who is truly progressive, or even truly conservative, knows that
@disamjisa well, george bush jr ruined their education system. i think both racial and gay issues have got better, but are still unsatisfactory. they're far less respected now, no question. but the republicans have done some good things and have some good presidents. but the republicans get you into trouble, democrats get you out of trouble, and it goes round iin circles (bush and obama are examples)
I don't get why people rate videos - all videos - negatively; if you don't like it, logic says don't waste your time watching, rating, and commenting negatively on it...guess I missed something...
@DougCameraMan Sooner or later the american people are going to have to face up to the fact that we can't continue the way we have since 1960. The size of governments at all levels must be brought under control, excess government workers that are not needed should be retrained and put into jobs making things that Americans and the global market want. We have a nation of government employees and consumers and no one is manufacturing. It must change, and change soon or we're doomed!
@DougCameraMan Ike warned us in his farewell speech about the military industrial complex - all his predictions have come true...can't believe we all didn't listen.
Thanks Kennedy. I'm a Mexican working on my doctorate degree. I think I should be thanking you that I'm not holding a leaf blower and instead I'm holding a briefcase. :)
In solidarity with the American people -- & all people -- I call on the current president, his surviving predecessors, Congress, and all U.S. & intl. media; on all who spoke/wrote yesterday to honor President Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his inauguration: to speak/write now to honor & examine, for the benefit of the American people -- & all people -- his Executive Order 11110 & its fate. President Kennedy stood up for all of you. Now who of you will stand up for President Kennedy? Who?????
why is the sound only in the left earphone... I thought the computers at school were broken, but when I'm listening to this at home, the sound is only going out the left side of my headphones too.
@JohnGuitarSolo Not anymore now that its common knowledge about his extramarital affairs unfortunately.... I think its messed up he had his mistress perform fellatio on his friend while watching...
@DrLightyearsWoes Look i'm sorry but life doens't get easy just because your educated. I know your smart, but are you confident? keep looking for jobs, look online, check the newspaper, its a recession - not a depression.
kennedy was wonderful but not perfect. i'm reading family of secrets by russ baker. it's about the bush family. geo h.w.bush was a cia operative most of his life. he was in dallas on nov.22,1963 and went to elaborate means to hide that fact. the rich oilmen were instrumental in killing kennedy.the were thick as thieves with the cia.
@5218bunny you are sick i think it was the mafia that did it they recorded some leaders saying cut the head of the snake probably because jfks brother hated the mafia
@predatorsl10 Well I am glad that you recognize a problematic situation when you see it, and it sounds like you care enough to do your part in improving the situation
John adams the second president is related to me . But way back in the day if you follow my family tree . My aunt is an Adams . Check out Ballard of the beanie
The USA is a morally good country, although we seem to have lost our moral compass under president Bush. We can and will get it back...And we are still the greatest country in the world. There are a lot of places that I would love to visit, but I would not want to live anywhere else
@ScytheLord3 Once again for the hearing impaired, the debate was supposed to be limited to domestic policy. He opens up with an attack on the Soviet Union. How is that domestic policy? And yes, I think he had an enormous ego. As a kid, I grew believing Kennedy was the greatest man that ever lived. Come to find out he was a womanizing, pill-popping, lying son of a gun runner Irish mafia hoodlum. Not exactly what we were told about him when he was alive.
@angrydoug Pill Popper? You mean the meds he was prescribed for back & also meds for addison's disease. Gun runner Irish Mafia? Explain the gun running charge. Irish Mafia? Explain Irish Mafia. JP Sr did business with the Mafia re: bootleg whiskey
@Marydawgs I would tell you if I was joking or not, but I can't even find what I originally wrote thanks to people arguing at eachother like brainless monkeys in the comments.
@Marydawgs Mary, all due respect - you need to read more about the history of the Kennedy's. It's not pretty tale. His father was a megalomaniac and expected it from his sons. Jack was addicted to prescription pain killers and there's evidence that he was not capable of sound judgement during the Cuban Missile crisis. And his affairs with all those women. Sorry, he isn't someone I could ever look up to. Maybe when I was a dumb kid, but not as an informed adult.
@angrydoug I have read plenty about the Kennedy's and there is plenty in their background that is not good. Most of it is traced back to JP Sr.JFK, on the other hand, kept the US from a nuclear showdown with the Russians during the Cuban Missile Crisis.I have never read criticism of his leadership at this time. You are the first. He was being treated by a physician for his back. If you want to criticize thst,go ahead. I admire his conduct as President-not all of his personal behavior.
@angrydoug (cont)You have not answered my questions re:gun running and Irish Mafia. I have never read of the Kennedy's involvement in gun running. The Irish Mafia were Jack's political pals-Dave Powers,Kenny O'Donnell and Larry O'Brien. That term did not refer to any illegal crime affiliation. The three men mentioned worked on Jack's many political campaigns.
@11stealthninjas "Re-education"? Interesting term. There is nothing you Paulbearers can teach us that is true or makes sense. In fact, JFK increased the Federal Reserve's power with an Executive Order on June 4, 1963. So why would they have him killed? YouTube won't let me post the link, but type "JFK Federal Reserve" into Google and check the link that says "Myth #9," and you'll see why your claim is completely ridiculous.
"All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America, (the world), arise not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, nor from want of honor or virtue, so much as downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation." John Adams
@aurash91 Who said I believe everything I see on television? Who said this world was perfect? We already have a lot of problems. The genocide in Africa, the corruption in North Korea, Venezuela, China Iran, etc, the sex slave trade, hunger, human suffering. I could go on for hours. But there's a difference between being skeptical and making things up without evidence. The problem with people like you is that you ignore the real problems of the world and bitch about ones that don't exist.
let me tell you the problem, "we are worst the the Sovjet union" thats the problem. thats the stupidnes of the cold war. why not be more like, let us unite and give ten times more scientist the sovjet union and USA separate. i dot get why humans need enemys to make progress. why cant the make progres together.
@armenac92 cause we didn't trust them. and they didn' trust us. we've made lots of progress. that's the problem; we've done lots and others don't like it. guess they'll have to go to work now. no more money to steal.
@5218bunny true without the cold war there woudent be so much progrss in science and tecnology. the day people start to make stuff for the humanity and not to be bether then tehir enemies, thats when the future starts.
@armenac92 Because some people,no matter what you do, will try their best to harm you. The same goes for nations, governments, and oh yeah, terrorists.
@5218bunny No, but you must be a defender of the privately owned and controlled central bank known as the Federal Reserve. I side with Thomas Jefferson who was against central banking, fiat currency, and a controlled economy. He felt that banks were more of a threat to freedom than standing armies. So why don't you tell me how Jefferson was wrong and why the Fed is so great.
@thinkertank1 i don't defend the fed. i just don't remember it being an issue in the 1960 campaign or thereafter in the kennedy administration. we blew it when we allowed glass-steegal to be repealed. they put those laws in place to keep the geniuses from robbing the rest of us blind. it has become a gigantic ponzie scheme. we still haven't done enough to change things.the rich will always have an advantage that's why we have to be vigilant and take part in our electoral and political life.
@Marydawgs ,,,well, yes Marydawgs, every president is gay. They have to commit to a scholarship that contains the in and outs of gayship. The vatican then aproves their gayness and babtise them for the holy gaygod who then in their turn pass them the holy fruit (bananas) and by swear the tell the hole treuth nothing then the treuth so help em gaygod, they will roll the banana up their noses to inhale the fruit smell and bevome instant preisdent of that gaycountry. lol
@5218bunny JFK circumvented the Federal Reserve by issuing issuing exec. order 11110 calling for silver certificate currency. Six months later he was executed in front of the largest audience possible, as a message. Within months, silver certificates were gone, only Federal Reserve notes, representing the phony perpetual debt obligation from the American people to the Federal Reserve private "banking" crime families, would be issued. Exec. order 11110 remained on the books but was ignored.
@bc9021010001 We can't know for sure if the banksters were involved with his death, but one thing is clear as you pointed out, that the silver certificates (real money) were gone soon after. END THE FED!
Thanks JFK Library for posting this historic clip in its entirety. This provides a great look at a remarkable moment in US history. If only debates today focused so specifically on the importance of personal responsibility, manufacturing and education in America
@kristijanadrian lol we learnt that you WILL get fucked one why or another. And then they'll fuck with AFTER you're dead. Character assassination and all.
Grassy knoll shooter is a red herring. The driver in the front seat Bill Greer apparently shot JFK after Oswald screwed up . The Zapruder Film has been altered and the babushka film of the assassination close-up on the driver's side of the limo could not be altered and was not released to the public
@Marydawgs he wasn't but it would be fine with me if he were.god, people can't we give each other a break? after watching all the changes of the last fifty years, it really is sad to see some people so intolerant.
The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power... FDR
@Marydawgs No, but I could say the same thing with the Holocaust. Was I there? No. Will I ever know for sure it did happen? After all seeing is believing, right? Oh no, wait, some people are saying this happened therefore I will not think for myself and just believe them without critically analysing it first.
@MarshalJimRaynor Excuse me but that sounded very much like a threat. Not a good thing. Not even as a joke. If you ARE joking. I really HOPE you are joking.

For the vast majority of the time since 1932, they have held the congress... they could have made the US progressive if they wanted
disamjisa 8 months ago
@pupRu33 They haven't because the GOP and DNC are two cheeks of the same backside; representatives of the super wealthy and vested interests in the US... anyone who is truly progressive, or even truly conservative, knows that

@disamjisa well, george bush jr ruined their education system. i think both racial and gay issues have got better, but are still unsatisfactory. they're far less respected now, no question. but the republicans have done some good things and have some good presidents. but the republicans get you into trouble, democrats get you out of trouble, and it goes round iin circles (bush and obama are examples)

Also, at 5:02 he says "Negro baby". My, how times have changed.

In solidarity with the American people -- & all people -- I call on the current president, his surviving predecessors, Congress, and all U.S. & intl. media; on all who spoke/wrote yesterday to honor President Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his inauguration: to speak/write now to honor & examine, for the benefit of the American people -- & all people -- his Executive Order 11110 & its fate. kennedy was wonderful but not perfect. i'm reading family of secrets by russ baker. it's about the bush family. geo h.w.bush was a cia operative most of his life. he was in dallas on nov.22,1963 and went to elaborate means to hide that fact. the rich oilmen were instrumental in killing kennedy.the were thick as thieves with the cia.

Not exactly what we were told about him when he was alive.
angrydoug 1 year ago
@angrydoug Pill Popper? You mean the meds he was prescribed for back & also meds for addison's disease. Gun runner Irish Mafia? Explain the gun running charge. Irish Mafia? Explain Irish Mafia. JP Sr did business with the Mafia re: bootleg whiskey

Marydawgs 1 year ago
@Marydawgs Mary, all due respect - you need to read more about the history of the Kennedy's. It's not pretty tale. His father was a megalomaniac and expected it from his sons. Jack was addicted to prescription pain killers and there's evidence that he was not capable of sound judgement during the Cuban Missile crisis. And his affairs with all those women. Sorry, he isn't someone I could ever look up to. Maybe when I was a dumb kid, but not as an informed adult.
angrydoug 1 year ago
@angrydoug I have read plenty about the Kennedy's and there is plenty in their background that is not good. Most of it is traced back to JP Sr.JFK, on the other hand, kept the US from a nuclear showdown with the Russians during the Cuban Missile Crisis.I have never read criticism of his leadership at this time. You are the first. He was being treated by a physician for his back. If you want to criticize thst,go ahead. I admire his conduct as President-not all of his personal behavior.
Marydawgs 1 year ago

@5218bunny No, but you must be a defender of the privately owned and controlled central bank known as the Federal Reserve. I side with Thomas Jefferson who was against central banking, fiat currency, and a controlled economy. He felt that banks were more of a threat to freedom than standing armies. So why don't you tell me how Jefferson was wrong and why the Fed is so great.
thinkertank1 1 year ago
@thinkertank1 i don't defend the fed. i just don't remember it being an issue in the 1960 campaign or thereafter in the kennedy administration. we blew it when we allowed glass-steegal to be repealed. they put those laws in place to keep the geniuses from robbing the rest of us blind. it has become a gigantic ponzie scheme. we still haven't done enough to change things.the rich will always have an advantage that's why we have to be vigilant and take part in our electoral and political life.

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power... FDR
