1. Some of our solar references are quite deliberate. The series deals greatly in the subject of cultural symbolism and archetypes. As such, we will often use archetypal images to help illustrate various thoughts.

But, to be specific, the 'center point' seen in the Intro sequence of SDSL most closely represents -TIME-, and not the Sun (especially as it forms into a line). What you are seeing is a simple representation of a sine wave on a graph. It's a visual metaphor.

I don't think Peter Joseph meant a completely blank slate, but as human beings, our values and morals are absolutely shaped by our environment. We learn how to treat others based on how we are treated and how we see others treated. I admire Peter Joseph for his vision of libertarian socialism which supports EACH individual to his/her fullest potential. That doesn't sound like totalitarianism to me. There has to be a balance between absolute individualism and communal needs such as health, food.

He says "there are no human instincts" and he has "tons of science to back that up". I'm simply going by his own words. Morality does NOT come from environment. Morals are archetypal, and come from inborn conscience.  I recommend you watch our next episode when it is released. Also, libertarian socialism is an oxymoron. The two are completely incompatible.

As long as Peter Joseph promotes blank slate theory, then he will never have a system that is compatible with individuality or balanced overall. Also, the idea of "communal needs" is up for interpretation. As long as individual conscience rules the interpretation, then things can work. But this is not what Joseph is promoting. He believes that there are cold objective boundaries in nature, which is simply not true. As soon as you try to define those boundaries, they change.

The very basis of socialism is to subvert the individual. To place the "group", which is an abstract idea, above the individual as more important. Joseph's theories are based completely on this basis, and that is why they will fail. Individualism takes precedence over all things because it is the most powerful force in the human psyche. Without it, society cannot survive. I suggest you read Carl Jung's book, "The Undiscovered Self" for more in-depth information.

It is debatable what Peter Joseph really believes, and none of us can really claim to speak for him. But during the production of this video, we poured over this awkward and painful interview with Alex Jones (which I guess has become somewhat infamous by now).

At one point, AJ poses the nature/nurture question and PJ responds that it is not 50/50, but "more like 90/10."

As for our values and morals being shaped by our environment, that is preposterous.....
