@Kombothekras My father was Greek. He passed away 2 years ago. I always remembered a song he played when we were children. I don't speak Greek but it went "Steega Nee, Steega Nee...Steega Nee, Steega Nee". I think it was from the late 60's, early 70's. Any idea what it was?
Greek culture is so much more rich beautiful than the culture of Western Europe. It's too bad Greek women dye their hair blond and red...they are so much more beautiful than North European women!
@TruthandJustice101 My friend this is a problem many societies face where "blonde and blue eyed" nordic looks are the beauty standard. Same problem in Latin America. Beautiful women dye their black hair to look more "white" I agree 100%

That's fine, I am a Sabah Fakhri fan and know no Arabic :-)
This a very sad song actually (and despite Hrysoula): it talks of a fishing boat belonging to a beautiful girl's blond boyfriend ... that, on a stormy night, returned empty and lightless, *orphaned*, to the harbor ... and so the fisherman went to the bottom of the ocean and all hopes drowned in deep water...

Ι remember this from my childhood.
Tonis Maroudas recorded it in a 45 rmp disc.
Even more melancholic...

In ancient times, this beautiful woman should have been a Trojan queen...;-)
stefalbert 2 years ago 2
@stefalbert
A Minoan Queen (from Kriti / Crete) and not Trojan Queen.
Her name indicates that she is from the Island of Kriti located in the South of the Aegean Sea.

It's a tradition that goes back to the old Minoans. :) 2000 BC !

Don't you know that in ancient Greece the major hair colour was... blond !
And for the north European women, you should better open your eyes a bit wider, or maybe travel a bit there, there are plenty of beautiful women.

@TruthandJustice101 I can testify to that having just returned from Crete. Proud people, beautiful women (mostly dark haired)...and proud culture..

Greetings from Luxembourg!
