um how do u keep your NPA from just standing and then sitting down and crossing ur legs instead of getting your NPA squared away and then stand up with ur legs crossed?
@MrRedneckboy95 I trip all over myself when I try to stand with my legs crossed, so I just stand normally and relaxed. Once I get my NPOA settled (during prep in a CMP match, or with sighters in an NRA match), I make a mental and physical ("feel") of my position, sometimes noting the location of my knee in position to my shooting stool or some other landmark that isn't going to move on me. Continued...
@MrRedneckboy95 Continued... When I sit down again, I take the time to settle into a good position, and check my NPOA (by closing and opening my eyes) before I start firing. Of course, in NRA matches you no longer have to stand up, so all I need to do is check my NPOA which I always do before I start shooting in any position. Hope I answered your question!
@Audtoo I was asking that because i have never seen someone go from standing to sitting like that before. I have my legs crossed when im standing but I have my hand on my stool to keep me from tripping or falling over
Yes, it was 200 yards. Hm, the month of May seems to be missing from my data book, doesn't look like I kept a plot that day so I don't know the MOA (score was 91). I shot a "clean" (100) once--at Camp Perry, no less!--but it was only the practice match, LOL!
Crazy, isn't it? They were mostly a distraction to be ignored: crawling along the top of my shooting glasses, inside the brim of my ballcap, and getting smushed on my mat when I went down for prone rapid! Luckily no bugs landed on my front sight post, but I think others may not have been so lucky! Where are you a member?
