Just take that first thing you said, a dell gaming PC is better than an iMac for only $200 more. For $200 dollars you are getting a better system for sure but thats without the display I think your forgetting this how much would you have to spend to get the equivalent display. So its not just $200 more its $300 more for a crappy display that can't even get the most out of your PC you have to spend a lot more to get this package.
I love Windows , but Macs aren`t that bad . Ok , they cant run some programs or games but they are good for work ! I`m using mostly Pc because I am a gamer and I play games and create vids on Youtube . I use a Mac for work .

When you look at the cost of a PC, sure it is cheaper, but then you add the cost of security, high cost MS Applications and OS upgrades, virus removals, accessibility for those who need it, etc. you just paid more than what it would have cost you for a mac. Mac has far more stuff under the hood, and out of the box than a PC does. You don't get BLOATWARE on Mac out of the box like you do on a PC. And Apple Magsafe, you won't find a better charging apparatus on a PC laptop. MAC RULES, PERIOD!!!

You just compared the price of a 12 core mac with 6 gigs of ram to the price of a 2 core pc with 12 gigs of ram and concluded that macs are overpriced... Your credibility is shot.
Now I have made a lot of corrections and it looks like I based Macs a lot (sorry, but there are some myths that need to be shattered). However, the real question is, would I buy a Mac if I had the money? Yes. If build quality is still on par with how things were built in the PowerPC generation than I would say that the peace of mind is worth it. A lot of hardware manufactures are cutting corners to keep costs down, but if it forces you to replace it than it isn't very cost effective after all.
PowerPCs had support for AltiVec (I believe Apple called it something like Velocity Engine, or some marketing shit like that) basically it helped a lot with acceleration of graphics. Which is why you see PowerPCs in all of the current gaming consoles. However, now that all Macs are x86 based they have NO HARDWARE ADVANTAGE OVER PCS IN IMAGE MANIPULATION. Photoshop runs as well on a PC as it does a Mac. Don't let old truths create new myths.
That being said the myths that Macs are better at video editing and image manipulation are just false. Until Lion Macs had to use QMaster (a network rendering program) to fake a network render, treating each core as a separate machine. With Lion you get Grand Central Dispatch (or whatever it's called) which improves multi-threading support. The only benefit of using Mac is that Final Cut Pro is exclusive...because it is made by Apple. As for image manipulation...next comment.
That being said what you get on a Mac is build quality. Macs typically are fairly well made. This is coming from my opinions of the PowerPC generation (I haven't touched a recent mac). At least back then stuff was very well put together, which I would hope (based on price) is still the same. Macs have also come a long way in gaming and software. I think it's a bit unfair to bash them on software anyway. I use Windows/Mac OS X/Linux and every platform has it's advantages but I hate misinformation
This needs some corrections. That PC was a Core 2 QUAD, you can tell by the Q in the model number. Next that was a GTX 285 which he said was basically a GT 120 but a lot better. The structures are way different. The GTX 285 would still be fairly powerful today (about mid-range) and this was 2 1/2 years ago. The GT 120 is about as powerful as current generation INTEGRATED graphics units. All it would be good for is accelerating video. So technically the PC was a ton better than he implied.

The only difference between a Windows PC and a Mac is the Operating System. If you use Windows to run your programs then you are no longer using a Mac, you are using a Windows PC. Therfore, your argument is invalid.
The parts used in a mac are the SAME parts used in a Windows PC. The only difference between the two systems is that one is designed to use OS X and one isn't. If you use Windows on your Mac instead of OS X, you essentially turn your Mac into a Windows PC with an Apple Logo on it.

I see, lots of creative poeple working with macs because they say that their macs are much more reliable. I can only agree this fact. Im a hobby DJ and startet with 2 Laptops. And with both of themi have had so many problems. This started with driver problems for the Midi controller and ends up with the built in Audiocard which had audio lags.
If i were a Club-DJ i would be ashamed if something like that happens live.
No...these people you mention......THAT is opinion :) Not fact. You might have had two bad PC laptops. I can find people who we went back to PC laptops because their Macbooks were giving them nothing but issues. I've said it before....any company that sells 500% more systems than their competitor is going to have higher reports of problems. It's simple, basic math. Macbook Pro lawsuits were launched against Apple before for horrendous quality control issues.
I've DJed as well with laptops, and sound cards work just fine if you've bought the right system. Ironically, an ASUS U-series laptop will decimate the entire Macbook Pro line and cost a ton less, with double the hardware quotient. ASUS is known for high quality and a better warranty than Apple can hope to achieve, plus 10+ hour battery life as opposed to Apple's 7. You're living 10 years in the past. These days, ASUS, MSI and Clevo lead the pack, not Apple.

espacially the G-Series. My asus was a G71gx. I bought it because it was very cheap for such a good hardware. But after 2 years i look back at many problems, caused by bad quality. Replaced Fan 2 times (warrenty). Keybord felt like it woulf break immediatly. Battery died after 1 year. screen hinges broke.
Asus may have some good priced laptops, but the quality is bad as fuck.

The next 100 probably had no issues whatsoever. The same can be said of the macbook line. It's also interesting that you mention the G71GX. I have one as well, and......surprise! It's been running beautifully for the last 2 years since I bought it, without so much as a hiccup. No issues whatsoever. So you see? Not everything is as it seems.
i don't think that im that wrong. I used the asus 10h average a day. 2 or 3 times a day i have to shutit off and on just to move on. At school we use laptops all day long, and if i get home i do my homework on it. If i have some time left i do all the other stuff. Inmy mind this was definitely the wrong laptop for a pupil like me, because its mado out of plastik and weights nearly 4kg, but the fact that some parts broke shows that definitely quality is missing.

No, actually they didn't throw them at all. They dropped them from waist weight. I emphasize "waist height." The Galaxy emerged unscathed. In this case, plastic wins. Glass is also extremely cheap to produce. You must understand the underlying factors instead of relying on aesthetics as a false sign of build quality. Understand why things are built the way they are. I agree with you on laptops, but.accidents happen. The Macbook would fare far worse, I guarantee.

When you look at the cost of a PC, sure it is cheaper, but then you add the cost of security, high cost MS Applications and OS upgrades, virus removals, accessibility for those who need it, etc. you just paid more than what it would have cost you for a mac. Mac has far more stuff under the hood, and out of the box than a PC does. You don't get BLOATWARE on Mac out of the box like you do on a PC. And Apple Magsafe, you won't find a better charging apparatus on a PC laptop. MAC RULES, PERIOD!!!

Now I have made a lot of corrections and it looks like I based Macs a lot (sorry, but there are some myths that need to be shattered). However, the real question is, would I buy a Mac if I had the money? Yes. If build quality is still on par with how things were built in the PowerPC generation than I would say that the peace of mind is worth it. A lot of hardware manufactures are cutting corners to keep costs down, but if it forces you to replace it than it isn't very cost effective after all.

PowerPCs had support for AltiVec (I believe Apple called it something like Velocity Engine, or some marketing shit like that) basically it helped a lot with acceleration of graphics. Which is why you see PowerPCs in all of the current gaming consoles. However, now that all Macs are x86 based they have NO HARDWARE ADVANTAGE OVER PCS IN IMAGE MANIPULATION. Photoshop runs as well on a PC as it does a Mac. Don't let old truths create new myths.

That being said the myths that Macs are better at video editing and image manipulation are just false. Until Lion Macs had to use QMaster (a network rendering program) to fake a network render, treating each core as a separate machine. With Lion you get Grand Central Dispatch (or whatever it's called) which improves multi-threading support. The only benefit of using Mac is that Final Cut Pro is exclusive...because it is made by Apple. As for image manipulation...next comment.

That being said what you get on a Mac is build quality. Macs typically are fairly well made. This is coming from my opinions of the PowerPC generation (I haven't touched a recent mac). At least back then stuff was very well put together, which I would hope (based on price) is still the same. Macs have also come a long way in gaming and software. I think it's a bit unfair to bash them on software anyway. I use Windows/Mac OS X/Linux and every platform has it's advantages but I hate misinformation

This needs some corrections. That PC was a Core 2 QUAD, you can tell by the Q in the model number. Next that was a GTX 285 which he said was basically a GT 120 but a lot better. The structures are way different. The GTX 285 would still be fairly powerful today (about mid-range) and this was 2 1/2 years ago. The GT 120 is about as powerful as current generation INTEGRATED graphics units. All it would be good for is accelerating video. So technically the PC was a ton better than he implied.

The parts used in a mac are the SAME parts used in a Windows PC. The only difference between the two systems is that one is designed to use OS X and one isn't. If you use Windows on your Mac instead of OS X, you essentially turn your Mac into a Windows PC with an Apple Logo on it.

3D Studio Max is literally the industry standard for 3D modeling.
It doesn't run on a Mac.
Avid Studio is Hollywood's industry standard for movie editing.
Not Final Cut Pro.
ProTools is the industry standard for the music industry.
It runs on Windows and Mac.
Now, if the PC platform is so much faster, with better quality components for a lower price, then what is happening? The studios in question are more concerned with self-image than performance. Fact.

I see, lots of creative poeple working with macs because they say that their macs are much more reliable. I can only agree this fact. Im a hobby DJ and startet with 2 Laptops. And with both of themi have had so many problems. This started with driver problems for the Midi controller and ends up with the built in Audiocard which had audio lags.
If i were a Club-DJ i would be ashamed if something like that happens live.

I can find people who we went back to PC laptops because their Macbooks were giving them nothing but issues. I've said it before....any company that sells 500% more systems than their competitor is going to have higher reports of problems. It's simple, basic math. I've DJed as well with laptops, and sound cards work just fine if you've bought the right system. Ironically, an ASUS U-series laptop will decimate the entire Macbook Pro line and cost a ton less, with double the hardware quotient. ASUS is known for high quality and a better warranty than Apple can hope to achieve, plus 10+ hour battery life as opposed to Apple's 7. You're living 10 years in the past. These days, ASUS, MSI and Clevo lead the pack, not Apple.

espacially the G-Series. My asus was a G71gx. I bought it because it was very cheap for such a good hardware. But after 2 years i look back at many problems, caused by bad quality. Replaced Fan 2 times (warrenty). Keybord felt like it woulf break immediatly. Battery died after 1 year. screen hinges broke.
Asus may have some good priced laptops, but the quality is bad as fuck.

Either way you slice it, the Macbook pro is Apple's most insultingly overpriced computer next to the Mac Pro, which shares that dubious honor.

It's also interesting that you mention the G71GX. I have one as well, and......surprise! It's been running beautifully for the last 2 years since I bought it, without so much as a hiccup. No issues whatsoever. So you see? Not everything is as it seems.

i don't think that im that wrong. I used the asus 10h average a day. 2 or 3 times a day i have to shutit off and on just to move on. At school we use laptops all day long, and if i get home i do my homework on it. If i have some time left i do all the other stuff. Inmy mind this was definitely the wrong laptop for a pupil like me, because its mado out of plastik and weights nearly 4kg, but the fact that some parts broke shows that definitely quality is missing.

I'm not saying you're wrong. But you're not exactly right, either. Plastic vs. aluminum doesn't make build quality any different. Do you know why Apple uses aluminum? Because, as anyone in the metal industry knows, it's stupidly cheap to produce. This fits perfectly with Apple's agenda of driving down manufacturing costs while simultaneously inflating price tags to obscene levels. Don't be fooled. Apple cares about profit, NOT about YOU! You mean nothing to them.

Look at it this way. If you drop your Macbook, do you think the components inside will emerge unscathed? What about your glass screen? Is it going to survive the impact? Drop tests say a resounding "No." Google the iPhone vs. Samsung galaxy drop test, and it'll all become clear to you.

but i dropped my iphone 3gs 2 times, screen still good.
So those "Drop tests" are no objective tests. Thats just from a couple of guys throwing phones on the floor. Sorry, this is no argument. Your just saying that because the SGS2 is made out of cheaper plastic.
And dropping laptops ^^ okey thats a realistcscenario, but ive never dropped a laptop, and i expect, neither from a macbook nor from a laptop to survive a drop.

No, actually they didn't throw them at all. They dropped them from waist weight. I emphasize "waist height." The Galaxy emerged unscathed. In this case, plastic wins. Glass is also extremely cheap to produce. You must understand the underlying factors instead of relying on aesthetics as a false sign of build quality. Understand why things are built the way they are. I agree with you on laptops, but.accidents happen. The Macbook would fare far worse, I guarantee.
