More like shunned by the community, stoned, assaulted, kidnapped etc. My (canadian) dad has been over seas deployed by the military, and he says while he was off duty with american pilots, instead of wearing their american flight suits they'd borrow a canadian friend's suit to go out to a bar or something, so they'd be let in and wouldnt be refused of service. A lot of the world hates America, sad but true.

Unfortunately, they shouldn't be put in the role of "world police". It's resented, and not really worthy. It should be a coalition. No ONE country should be in charge of which wars to fight.

@ralphyization I understand, I have American friends and in fact my girlfriend's parents are American, so I have a decent understanding and unbiased opinion on them. You're right, they're good people; a human being's nationality has no bearing on their morals or if they're a good person. All I meant to say was that with the accumulation of the State's horrible foreign relations, good Americans (there are plenty) have to resort to hiding their nationality, which is extremely degrading for most.

The other Americans were so embarrassed they leaned back on whatever accent they had in their disposal. There were suddenly a lot of Brits, Scots, Germans, and Canadians. I was lucky; my accent is un-place-able. Fellow Americans can't figure out where I'm from.
