  • Back in early autumn 1979,I saw this at the President theater in The Bronx with The Dark as the co-feature before the theater folded when I was only 8 years old back then. That's why I enjoy being an old schooler.

  • Wow, oh wow. This is another movie I saw as a young child at the drive in that I could never remember the name of. I always remembered scenes but not the name. It left a mark when I was 6 or 7 to have stayed with me all these years.

  • 0:19 - Such a good camera trick.

  • fuck me creeped me out the bit where he jumps up at his mum at the end of clip AAAAGGGGHHHHH got to see this

  • Are you a female?

  • @BurnRoddy seen it absolute shite and been male of female dnt matter

  • Mish-mash, Italian horror movie exploitation trash. Originally titled "Shock," with a name change to exploit the success of BTD 1.

  • Great show, please check my trailer out for my no-budget horror - The Keening

  • wow there was a part 2???? damn

  • holy shit did you see the ending the child turns into a wolf like thing..

  • @peruface See shock trailer for a better look at that 'kid'.

  • @themirrorsofmymind Thanks! I think that kid was also in the first Beyond The Door.

  • beyond the door 2 was kinda stupid but it was alright near the end of that movie.

what did the audience think when they saw it in the theaters? wouold netflix have any of these old movies like beyond the door 1 and 2?

  • Saw this movie back in. 1977 good movie

  • I have to see this movie.

  • This is one of my fav Italian films.

  • The film was actually a Mario Bava film called "Shock"; for it's US release they slapped the title "Beyond the Door II" onto the film because it had the same child actor from the original BTD film. Ironically, the people who dubbed the film pretty much ignored the renaming and dubbed the entire film per Bava's original script, and left the entire film uncut (a rarity for a Bava film).

  • I had my suspicion that that was the same little kid form BTD, but this proves it. So that was their right to tie BTD 2 in as a sequel? Can you say, "cash cow"?

I liked the movie though, and the story was quite sinister in it's own right.

And to have a film totally dubbed in the original script? Hell yeah it's rare, considering how they altered"Black Sabbath" and "Mask Of Satan" (for fear

of offending American audiences at the time.)

  • Funny you mention Black Sabbath; the English dub of Black Sabbath is largely favored over the uncut version (partly because Boris Karloff's segment is in English and you can hear his voice). Sadly, the rights issues over the US version of that film (and a couple of other Bava films that were dubbed, like The Girl Who Knew Too Much, another Bava film where the US dub is considered superior to the original uncut version) are screwed up and can't be released on DVD.

  • Yeah the American version with Karlof's voice was cool.

"Dream about me, we'll be friends!" lol

Karloff's voice was truly unique and I can see why they would choose the American version. To this day his name is still mentioned with great respect, and should be for all time. Hey man, he was The Grinch too, how cool is that? lol ;)

I myself have considered him the king of classic horror for many years

  • Just where can you get this movie from??

  • I actually saw this at a drive-in when I was about 4 years old. Iv'e seen it recently but the only scene I remember when I was a kid was the part where the mom fell over the rake and you could see hands crawling up her legs.
