I don't think it depends that much on what gear you've got, I play with a mapex pedal, it works for me. As long as the gear is working as it should, there should not be a problem.

But of course, you have to get use to the gear :)

I kinda hate Axis pedals, I personly think they're overrated, you should be able to play fast with other pedals too, in my opinion. Guess it's very personal...
