  • Brilliant! Psychologist Alice Miller, author of "For Your Own Good: Hidden Cruelty in Child-Rearing and the Roots of Violence" and "The Body Never Lies: The Lingering Effects of Hurtful Parenting," among many other great books, is surely cheering somewhere!

  • The Inner World of Trauma: Archetypal Defences of the Personal Spirit by: Donald Kalsched

  • Unfortunatly its only half of the true those studies must be more acurate and made by no brainwashed investigators and use only the scientific metod. Example but are more Promiscuity is a judgment of "moral" value we do not do that in science.

  • What's wrong with promiscuity? as long as your not cheating and your practicing safe sex i dont see anything wrong with having lots of sex

  • @Cortanaisatranny The idea is that in a healthy state most humans desire and can accomplish significant and durable attachment. So while there are almost certainly going to be some hit and misses, 50 partners could indicate a possible "attachment disorder" your mileage may vary. An extremely low number of partners, or maybe none, might indicate the same thing.

  • I would love to see the study compare the brains of mutilated circumcised men, raped as babies to the blessed whole natural intact whole men whose first experience was love like their female counterparts.

How would a man raped as an infant, days after birth, brain compare to that of a whole man?

  • @steponroach "How would a man raped as an infant, days after birth, brain compare to that of a whole man?"

Lol. Did you just INSULT circumcision victims? :P

Circumcision has benefits, apparently. My brother was circumcised by order of a doctor in his teens. Theoretically, a painless, medicated circumcision (assuming there are only benefits to such an act if tools are properly sterilized/practitioners are competent/etc) wouldn't be such a horrid thing.

    Theoretically. =P

  • what abut people with really great parents who become depressed alcoholicchronic unemployed? There must be other possible causes.

  • @BiggerThinking1 There are. But this is one of the big ones.

  • parents who are abusive don't deserve to see their grand children, they also don't deserve pity they are grown adults who should not hit kids treat kids the way you treat other people, when i have kids they are not meeting my parents because they were abusive parents and i won't risk that around my child.

  • What constitutes as child abuse though? Some people would say even a simple spanking is child abuse, but I'd tell them to fuck off. I was spanked once or twice by my father with a 2x4 when I fucked up really bad, but he only hit me with it once each time, and obviously not as hard as he could. He also wasn't raging and screaming at me when he did it.

  • @IAmPhotoBucket thats fucking child abuse, my parents are abusive, but i am fine because i don't want to be like them i wan t to be better than them. your dad abused you any form of violence towards your child is unacceptable. some people experience more abuse then others, can you believe how comedians make fun of being beat Russell peters. If your dad was spanking you not to hurt you or inflict pain on you then why did he do it? religion has a lot to do with why people are stupid.

  • @Tethloach1 I really don't think it was child abuse since he only did it once or twice.

    >If your dad was spanking you not to hurt you or inflict pain on you then why did he do it?

Uh, to punish me, you fucking idiot? Even when I was that young I knew I deserved it. I was very rarely physically punished when I was younger because I wasn't a stupid asshole.

  • @Tethloach1 >any form of violence towards your child is unacceptable.

This is retarded. What do you do with a kid who's being a little shit? Time out? Lots of kids are completely out of control because the only thing they have to fear from their parents is being put in a corner, and when that happens they just fucking don't go into the corner. Ground him? 'No tv for a week!' And then he just keeps acting like an asshole, watching TV when you're not away, or screaming and yelling constantly.

  • @IAmPhotoBucket i realized that talking to kids is possible fear doesn't work i talk to my little brother with kindness and reacts very intelligent and nice towards me you have to ask them what they like. kids do fear having toys taken away, you have to show them that you won't use violence not even a little bit and kindness and they will follow your action believe me you need patience it works.

  • @Tethloach1 Yeah and that's why you see shit like on dr. phil, kids who are totally out of control and just own the household because their parents are afraid to actually physically discipline them, and nothing else works. You've never seen that? Or even the kid who actually slaps his own mother, and she does nothing about it?

That's called little man syndrome; the kids think they're bigger and tougher than they are because their parents give them weak punishments that the kids just ignore.

  • @IAmPhotoBucket well i can honestly say that you sir are irrational if you want to hit your kids and cause them child abuse go right a head nobody will stop you. there is no reasoning with you because you think violence works well, if thats the case i dont feel the need to continue this conversation.

  • @Tethloach1 Nice hyperbole, you jump right into accusing me of WANTING to abuse kids, completely ignoring my examples, as if by stating those examples and advocating spanking a kid is the equivilent of me wanting to slug him in the jaw and leave him black and bruised.

I'm not the irrational one, you are. You refused to acknowledge my side of the argument and instead resort to hyperbole and personal attacks.

  • @IAmPhotoBucket And you prove his point with every post you make. You are obviously incapable of rational discussion without resorting to name calling and hyperbole. If you show children violence, they learn violence. I have FIVE children. The oldest had it bad compared to the rest because I had to learn that it is my example that teaches them how to behave. We never had a lot of money, and as such lived in poorer areas, lots of bad influences, yet the kids all followed our lead.

  • @IAmPhotoBucket An asshole kid is the direct result of an asshole parent. Do you think they don't see? What you tell them is not near as important as what you show them. Don't fool yourself into thinking they don't hear everything that is going on at home.

  • @steveaustin71 "An asshole kid is the direct result of an asshole parent."

Nononono - That is a ridiculously overgeneralised claim. The company the child keeps and the schools they go to are just as important as the influence of their parents. In fact, if they *maintain* a friendship with school chums their entire life; they'll be influenced more by those chums than their parents could ever hope to.

Parents are not wholly accountable. Children have their own lives, after all. =P

  • This explains the riots we saw just while ago. UK is fucked up.

  • all i see are co-relations and not much proof of causation

  • stress.... child stress, i used to be so very stressed as i grew up, up until recently, and im almost 22 now... slowly ive been recovering, on my own, and i dont blame my parents either... the poor beings suffered even more than i did, but its time we realize the true problems, and bring about a solution to it!

  • @thunderon100 the sad thing is my parents are abusive, and my mom is raising my little brothers and sister she verbally abuses all of us and physically tries to threaten us but i challenge the psychical abuse knowing that it won't work on me so she resorts to verbal abuse. well my dad stop psychically abusing me when i was his hight and he stopped verbally abusing me when i was 14 because i was his hight and i know and value my rights so i wonder why he stopped?he was scared adults-hit kids.

  • @Tethloach1 yea it was the same way with me, my parents a;lways abused me verbally and physically ever since i can remember, in fact the only parts of my childhood i remember are the horrible moments i had. but yes, they stopped physically assaulting me when i was around 15 and started standing up for myself, my dad beat me up a few times snce then, but thats because i let him. i saw him as the coward he was and turned the other cheek. but since then i promised him, if he touches me, he'd die.

  • lol....this was depressing.

    interesting though. it makes sense.

  • It has been understood for years that child abuse can alter the brain, and indeed, the entire physiology of the body. What is NOT generally known however, is that we have been living in a world system for decades, that is under the direct influence (if not outright control), of numbers of individuals called "elite", many of whom may be victims of severe childhood abuse themselves, via the world-wide and highly placed "culture" of satanic ritual organizations: investigate it yourself!

  • Okay, I shouldn't say most. It was most of the ones listed at the top, further down the list a lot more of the links were working. But I still think it would be good if the links were updated.

  • Most of the links to the sources and references listed are broken. The video features some truly remarkable statistics and I would like to spread this video so that more people could see it. But without the sources available, I can't really do that.

  • You say abusive parents tend to have children who are more violent or are more prone to have a mental disorder, why can't it be a hereditary trait passed from parents to children with minimal environmental influence?

  • @reapfreak abuse isn't hereditary it is not a disease. It is a learned behavior and is modeled from caregiver to child. That's why.

  • 2/3 of girls reported some form of childhood sexual abuse? Wow that seems very high. What constitutes sexual abuse in these studies and how can they be verified?

  • I've asked elsewhere. I'm wondering Stephon, what are your thoughts on teaching children martial arts?

  • ‎*Also some are born with the gene, and bad eating habits that come or are taught by family members in early childhood, ie: parents who exhibit and indulge in this behavior who also have the gene.

  • Physical and or verbal abuse during childhood is also associated with adult body weight and obesity. Until it's stopped at the root this problem will not stop,it can be controlled in adult years but the odds are not good, most fail. One eats his/her way to comfort and examples an act of hiding self esteem. Also factor in what foods people are eating,it's no wonder this is a epidemic, especially for those who never had a chance right out of the starting gate of childhood!

  • screw disarming the bomb in the brain. i have a pimple in my nose and it fucking hurts

  • thank you for airing this. The numbers of abuse victems are alot higher than mentioned above. this is a world wide Panamdemic! just not too many know or will ever realize this, and too many turn a blind eye! Abuse is real, especially from the hands of catholic clergy! look at those numbers, many coming forward now, to talk about it. over three hundred men alone on Operah winfrey show. Most mental health patients have been abused, and still are being abused in institutions. Abuse has to STOP!

  • this video explain so much! i was very said because of the numbers it is amazing how one experience can change your life

  • @kyuribaby most cases more than one incident, remeber that. for if only one chances are you do not have alot of problems, and will bounce back quicker than most. I was abused in everyway for 40yrs, by men. every bone in my body has been broken from head to toe. I am on disability now, and canadain government pays my way, as they did not help me at all as a child, nor adult. in Canada. Abuse numbers are high world wide panamdemic! forget the flu's etc... abuse is it!

  • I have experienced over 10 incredibly scary ACE's in my childhood and I am really, REALLY glad I found you, you've helped me so much....

  • So an ACE is just ONE event? Well then, that explains a lot.

  • We teach abuse by letting our children watch elephants perform in circuses who are beaten every day (hooked, shocked and tied), or rodeos where calves are injured after being roped (internally and then suffer until slaughtered), and of course eating animals which is unnatural.

Teach peace for all. We will be held accountable for every creature by the Creator someday (Heb. 4:13)

    Teach compassion for all life.

  • @Godscre1 No. Also who the hell still goes to the circus lol

  • it's sad that this video actually has to be made

  • i object to calling promiscuity a negative outcome. if people are happy being promiscuous than more power to them. its not abnormal and it isn't a problem. it shouldn't be considered a problem. so long as all people are consenting than promiscuity is just as normal as monogamy.

now promiscuity can increase the chance to get STD's but safe sex practices and awareness can drastically reduce this.

  • @greycloud24 Promiscuity is definitely a marker of some sort of underlying issue.

  • @SuperPhdiva i say monogamy is a marker of some sort of underlying issue. and i have just as much evidence to back up my claim as you do for the claim that promiscuity is a marker of an underlying issue. who in their right mind would stick to just one sex partner for the rest of their life?? its crazy, and its weird and its not normal. its definitely a sign of a mental disorder.

  • @greycloud24 I stuck with one man and still am single since being a widow.40 long years with one man, yes one man. that's my reason for being single now today 7yrs a widow. doesn't mean I do not have a mental health problem, anxiety and depression demon, self harming etc... I am on a healing journey now though, and it is getting better. remember it is waht your taught and what you believe or what you do that determines you? we all have choices we make them daily without thinking.

  • @ederoose read to what i was replying too. i think promiscuity and monogamy are both choices. they are good for some people and bad for others. i was upset that someone was stating that promiscuity is somehow bad. its not bad for everyone, but it is bad for some people. just like monogamy is bad for some people and not others.

  • Drugs and ACE: (7:17 )Drugs and ACE's have a very small relationship. Be aware of his percentage units that increase by 0.5 %. Which calls in the many other factors that contribute to drug abuse.

  • This is a relationship, but it is not necessarily a causal one. I need to see twin and adoption studies in conjunction with this data to make that leap. I hope the future videos include such data because this is fascinating stuff.

  • Does a Spanish language version of this exist?

  • I experienced it first hand and in some horrific ways. Fortunately, I am healing and working through these things. Also I'm learning how to work with people to release and deeply heal from the horrors of abuse. Never did I think that was possible but my life is changing as a result.

  • it is quite rude and wrong to say that the poor "unorganized" persons are to be the majority of the abused.. That is NOT a fact and it is discriminatory.

  • stefbot have you ever heard of Boris Sidis?

  • Just do the best you can, and always try to do better. So buy as healthy as you can afford (frozen and canned vegetables, fruits etc.). Really I would say that mindfulness meditation helped me a lot more. It taught me to not allow negative thoughts to have power over how I feel about myself. The Joy of Living is an excellent book to learn mindfulness and other meditations.

Practice every day for at least 10 minutes if you want to see effects. Daily exercise will also help a lot. Build a routine

  • There needs to be much more coverage on this subject on a mass scale and worldwide. Children are our future leaders of the world. The "ripple" effects and aftermath of child abuse is profound. ~Breaking the Chains of Silence~

  • Fuck, my score was 4-7 and the graphs related to job impaired performance all gave me a chill

  • The 'random guy on you tube ' got his information from the ACE study...see the website he mentions in pt 1. He's passing on information from actual research.

  • So, if you were severly abused as a child, instead of have the chance to develop and improve yourself thru life most of your adult hood time will be to "repair" from these injuries and never have the same opportunity as everyone else. And that is if you are "lucky".. thats so sad..

  • @kaxitaksi

well i guess you could say by repairing your brain you are improving it in a sense.

  • @lildread1 Yeah, like taking one step forward and then 2 back :))

  • @kaxitaksi This is what i was thinking also...........

  • @kaxitaksi that's if you believe some random guy on youtube.

  • @kaxitaksi its one of those things, once you are self-aware you can transcend.

  • I love free domain radio!

  • Seems that ace study misses abuse from outside the family.

  • @Mahoivlich Probably not - most abuse of all types is done by parents and close family members and the statistics refelct that

  • Other good resources to check into ..the Primal Psychotherapy Page, Aletha Soulter

(on the subtle abuse of *distracting* young children into repressing their emotional connection), and for birth and intrauterine related problems, Stan Grof, obstetrician Michel Odent, and William Emerson, Lloyd de Mause.

  • Join the largest movement for social change with over 500k supporters around the world, The Zeitgeist Movement! We can solve all the problems we face from world hunger to poverty to crime and violence. It is all possible and we can show you how! Watch Zeitgeist Addendum online for free! And keep watching this guys videos, he is very informative and intelligent!

  • @koberask Depressing assumptions from childhood abuse is why so few people can see the reality of positive possibilities put out by people like Buckminster Fuller, the Zeitgeist movement, Wade Frazier, Stephen Greer, etc.

  • I scoed a 7 :(

  • Oh my God. wow.

    MIND = BLOWN

  • Interesting. I perused the ACE site, and take issue with their questions. Question 7 asks about intimate partner violence, but completely omits the possibility of a mother committing violence against a father. Preposterous. It makes me highly suspicious of their methodology, that they would phrase one of their survey questions in such a clearly biased and sexist manner.

That said, I still think what they're saying is valid, as I have seen the same links in other studies.

  • I'd like to comment on the statistic about the correlation between ACE Score and Liver Disease (Hepatitis/ Jaundice) and the idea that it would come mostly or simply from alcohol abuse. Since this series Dr Robert Lustig has appeared on this show. He shows in "Sugar: The Bitter Truth" a strong correlation between Non Alcoholic Steatal-Hepatitis(sp?) or NASH and increased intake of fructose. Others, notably Dr. Julia Nash, have noted how foods effect those with deficient brain chemistry

  • @tenguxeroz : Also, certain foods have been found to be addictive. It's something that I encourage everyone to look into. Please note that I haven't combed through the comments so I don't know if this has been addressed.

As always, thank you Mr Molyneux for producing and maintaining such a high quality podcast and channel.

  • I am extremely concerned that only 9000 people have watched this. Is there a mirror of this video on YouTube?

Please share this video with your friends. It has opened doors for me. I was unaware of what abuse as a child actually does and did to me :(

  • @CanEHdianRocker Please accept my deepest sympathies....

  • @stefbot thank you my friend...

  • @CanEHdianRocker Don't feel so bad. Your brain structure can change over time. Just changing your thoughts and emotions, by using tools like meditation, you can profoundly change not only the structure of the brain, but also how you feel and look at the world.

Changing the structure of the brain by thoughts is called neuroplasticity. Mindfullness meditation has been shown to grow the frontal cortex of the brain in studies. Using that with exercise and good nutrition has rid me of depression.

  • @CanEHdianRocker Help is available everywhere, at least I know for sure in my Canada! we have mental health agencies and workers, somone to talk to and help reverse affects. I have been slowly changing with help myself , for about 8yrs now. computer also has helped me. Also have healing inner child sessions now, every Friday evening. It also helps to have a spirituality of your own, as man is a spiritual being with energy, as they are living. I started with my addictions gone first.

  • @CanEHdianRocker yes agree with you, please share. the numbers are very much higher than reported or asked for in this video. many years ago it was acceptable. is it still happening today! yes, very much so especially aboriginals, as they learned from white men years ago. People have also taken Godly values out of life, as anything goes nowadays. Extremely high numbers in Ireland and Uk @?abuse is worldwide panamdemic no one wants to open this box? it is not easy but possible to get help.

  • @CanEHdianRocker: We are translating the whole series into German right now (August 2011).

  • Outstanding. Man you are Great....

  • I am a 17 year old male, and I can assure you all when I am a father myself I will make avid use of spanking, just like my father :)

  • @patsypatarchy

You're retarded. Ever thought the physical abuse might have something to do with this?

  • @ethositachi

You're being aggressive yourself, if you haven't noticed. Ask yourself why. You may learn something interesting about yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @patsypatarchy Let me know what neighborhood you're living in so I can raise my kids somehwere far away from you and your potentially fucked up son.

  • @patsypatarchy And I can assure you your children will be traumatized and damaged from it and will be very likely to go on abusing their own children, which would make you directly responsible for generations upon generations of human pain and suffering:)

  • @patsypatarchy I am curious if you have ever heard the phrase "Might does not make right." The basic underlying concept is just because you have the power to do something, doesn't mean you should use it. Spanking or hitting a child is just re-enforce the childs understanding that problems are solved with exxerting pain on someone to get them to do what you want them to do. Dialogue failure. That sort of things is why we have wars.

  • @patsypatarchy Don't you mean, "I'm proudly a fucking tool"?

  • I commend you for making this presentation; this data must be widely promulgated. I underwent considerable emotional abuse and neglect as a child, and it is evidenced by the inordinate difficulty I am having during this juncture in my life. (I recently turned twenty.) Thankfully, I have not been subject to some of the more pernicious effects of child abuse; my struggle is primarily with depression and anxiety disorder. Perhaps this is because my abuse was not very severe. CONT . . .

  • @XxxNuMbxxX0301 I shudder when I think of how much those who have endured tremendous abuse must suffer.

  • HOLLY CRAP!!!

the ending of the video showing 78% of the obusers were parents themseleves, thats the truth you really have to face, people who do those things arent mostly creepy unknown guys, its mostly some nice- phony parent you see at the school.

very much like your interpertation of catcher in the rye

  • I have severe physical symptoms from my depresion. I grew up on a McMansion decked street and my family used to go on cruises every summer. But I never got along with the kids I grew up around. I was always, and still am, more at ease with people from "the other side of the tracks", and oddly enough, even though they know where I'm from, they except me. Now, I'm figuring out why.

  • Please see (at least)

    European early modern humans 3/4

    in the 4-part series.

When we understand the effects of the last Glacial Period on Euro-Gentiles and Eurasians we will go far to understanding why they are as they are.

It is important to take both the Genetic changes that occurred during that 100,000 year period as well as the Epigenetic changes wrought by their traumas, stress, fear, struggles.

  • 11:00

  • I did the ACE test and got 8. I only stumbled across Stefs work about 2 months ago and have become a fan. So I was happy to find this in his bookmarks.

Explanations dealing with childhood abuse are very vague and in mainstream media (possibly because they are abusers themselves), I'm glad that Stef has taken the time to investigate and explain this. It's a solid and logical. I hope I can learn something from this.

  • Please see my video: David Icke, Conciousness, DNA, Epigenetics & Kabbalah

I discuss many of these very same issues.

  • I would recommend after watching this to see the BBC special Ghost in Your Genes which gives an overview of Epigenetics.

These effects are *cumulative* over the generations.

  • I agree with a large amount of this. The one thing I have ANY issue with is the idea that havign a sexual life as a teenager is such a bad idea. I think that if one is safe about sex and understands the risks inherient with some partners that they can have a great time... However, I can see how this would enable certain predators, etc, etc. However, the idea the teen sexuality is a bad thing in and of its self is not something I subscribe to. Sex is over-stigmatized in my opinion.

  • @humacyrnus I completely agree. Once more over, our advancement in technology is far faster than the evolution of our biology. It wasn't so long ago that getting married around 13 or 14 was common due to the fact the human lifespan was on average 50 years of age. Today 50 is way too young to pass away so we have luxuriously allowed for a longer childhood(mainly in western societies that can afford it).

  • 2 on ACE. Divorced parents, no washer or dryer soemtimes lol. So clothes were often dirty XD or second hand.

Good compilation / great work dude. I appreciate the fact that you are willing to take the time to do this. Seriously.. this is a very respectable thing to do.

  • @Vid

Wow.. this video came about at a good time to some degree. I had been doing some introspective thinking for awhile, trying to figure myself out..

Anyways, this video could explain some of the depression.

  • ★★★★★

  • I took the ACE quiz and i'm an ACE 5 probably explains why i luv to smoke good grass. So great, i'm inspired by stefbot's lecture - i'm more likely to commit suicide or die from alcoholism; to indulge in video games, have irregular sleep and a diminishing career. I hope that lots of love can heal some of that damage, as its the only life i got at the moment. I get that its not my fault, but it really sucks being a damaged person.

  • @cheekieweekie

"but it really sucks being a damaged person"

You said a mouthful there. Just don't shut yourself off from love.

  • Great video, explains where a lot of my dysfunctional beliefs and thought patters originate from. Whens part 4 gonna be uploaded?

  • The sad thing is most female children molested, grow up becoming victims to men. And most don't acknowledge child molestation as abuse. I've heard some women allow their children to become victims of sexual molestation by their fathers or other men of predatory acts even some women engage in sexual acts aka pedophilia. So if they like being molested what can We do to stop it?

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe if you stop stalking people and find something to do you can educate yourself on this video. It's too bad that you have no common sense on life. And whatever account your referring to is completely nuts. Grow up little girl, time to stop jumping from the monkey bars of Africa and come back to civilization.

  • Comment removed

  • You know I love you, right? But girl stop this craziness! I told you I don't want her , I want you! You is my rock, gurrrl. Imma come ova later tonight so we can do the nittygritty, boo. So get out your pomade and hair pick cuz i'm doing yo naps and you do mine! xoxo

  • How sad that most victims of child abuse are in denial that they are victims. - misfit

  • Regardless of what your opinion is on this video. If you do anything even remotely abusive to children, you are the root of all evil. Child abusers are worse than child murderers.

  • no way id rather be abused than killed

  • Stef, while I am all over most of what you talk about with regard to government control and the "gun in the room" reality, you have to be careful about which research you choose to extol. Kaiser receives much of its research funding from the NIH, stimulus package funds, etc, which are, guess what??? - funds obtained through the gun in the room method. You can't diss global warming research and not other topics - there is very little research that is done using non-violent and non-toxic funds

  • @6669Tara

I'm glad you pointed this out. I thought the interview he did with the reporter about global warming brought up some fair criticisms but lacked insight into the larger context of what scientific consensus means. It's easy to dismiss science when it disagrees with your views, but it's hypocritical to use other science to support other of your views. If Stef doesn't trust scientific consensus, then why is he relying on science to make his case here?

  • I suggest anyone actually interested in this persentation, turn off the comments as I did.

I can already tell there's political trolls down there, waiting to annoy you.

  • I hate to say it but correlation does not always equal causation. There might be one or more socioeconomic circumstances that lead to BOTH abuse in the family and AND the mentioned illnesses and substance abuses.

  • @MigDanskeren No, correlation does not always equal causation... In fact it never *equals* causation, but it is a strong indicator of it because whatever the cause really is it will always be correlated with its effect. If both the abuse and the illnesses mentioned are caused by something else, then we'd look for a correlation there as well. Where does the argument stop? Or are you just generally skeptical about scientific investigations?

  • I wonder what Stef's solution would be.

  • Stop thinking that Stef has some SOLUTION to everything. THINK FOR YOURSELF.

  • @glopur0 Yeah, we're supposed to think that if someone does not have a solution to a problem, then they're wrong about there being a problem! it's one of those knee-jerk, learned responses that are never understood, just repeated ad nauseum.

OTOH, to answer the question, the solution is to STOP ABUSING YOUR GODDAM CHILDREN!

  • You might find Gary Null and Mike Adams interesting in that area. Especially for Isabella. <3

  • Illuminating. I like how you point out the relation between statism and family in other podcasts as well. Have you done any any that tie in diet and lifestyle? For example, the way government corners the market in what foods are served to children in public school typically some kind of meat, a milk carton, perhaps a wilted piece of fruit. Then there's the beverage machines that only sell sodas, processed juice drinks, unhealthy snacks such as cookies, pretzels and chips.

  • Thank you so much Stef for doing this massively beneficial project!!!

  • Stef (and anyone interested in learning more about the effects of trauma) I recommend the book The Body Bears The Burden by Robert Scaer

He is a senior authority on the subject

  • Believe in the child..if they are unhappy, they have reason. This video is so important for seeing this truth. Why are parent's not held responsable more, while their children are getting punished by the authorities?

  • most parents don't know any better or past their limits to cope with life. Not sure what the solution is other than to bring back mass orphanages and let the state raise the children.

  • what makes you think the state knows better than the parents? Besides, who would the state the right to take the children by force?

  • I got 7.

  • Stef... Good work. I talked with you on James Cox's show a few months ago. Thanks for all you do. xx

  • I always like you're video's, but what's the point of this one? Of course child abuse is unacceptable. Usually you talk about moral choices, but this is already simply against the law in any country. And people who are intelligent enough to watch your video's know that of course.. :S

  • it seems like there is a cause and effect relation, although the numbers only proof a correlation. I would say that the fact that sometimes a victim of child abuse escapes this cycle is not a proof of 'free will'. To find truth, the causes could be investigated why these particular persons did escape the consequences of their abuse.

  • Very professional video and, of course, the most important topic in the world I think. Thank you so much for spreading the REAL inconvenient truths.

  • This is very interesting. Thanks Stef.

  • thanks stef. as usualy you are right on top of ALL of the important topics.

  • Wish it was 2x faster

  • I have these results with a gain of salt because childhood abuse and childhood in general to some extent social constructions.

  • a good vid, unlike some of the other, more kooky ones.

  • Being left handed has a negative correlation with lifespan, too. We should stop brainwashing youths with the idea that left handed people are equal and acceptable members of society. In fact, anyone with any kind of disease/condition/predisposition that shortens their lifespan should have scorn heaped upon them! To the pitchforks!

  • @andyissemicool Really, left-handedness correlates to lower lifespan? If it did, the analogy to what I'm protesting is if movies made being left handed seem cool, which isn't happening. There's a huge difference between tolerating and propagandizing. Tolerance is the middle road, but we're far more towards the propagandized side today. Powers that be are promoting it every chance possible. Childhood abuse correlates to adult homosexuality as well, showing environmental component too.

  • Yeah, the fact that we should accept people for who they are and encourage their self exploration is abhorrent. Who cares what movies are being made for what? Gay people are gay, and even if it were to come out that being gay is a 100 percent choice, we still shouldn't deny them the right to marry or to portray their subculture in various forms of media. You sound conspiratorial and bigoted, I must say.

  • @andyissemicool My problem with homosexuality is it is a culturally tolerated form of genetic suicide, as smoking has been said to be a form of suicide. One is promoted as good, the other is aggressively attacked. Why? The argument opposing smoking is the same for opposing child abuse, and against propagandizing children to question their own heterosexuality (the question "when did you decide to become straight" is pure propaganda); if long life is good, all 3 are bad.

  • @hughtub: Your assumption that gays do not reproduce is incorrect.

Even if gays don't reproduce at all, they make up 3 percent of the population. They are not going to doom the future of the human species. They can also adopt and provide love for kids who may well have died (without reproducing) had they not been adopted.

You're confusing 3 separate arguments. Smoking is a choice, and as such you can do what you want to your own self. Child abuse is not a choice, neither is homosexuality.

  • @andyissemicool My problem is essentially the inconsistent treatment of behaviors correlated to negative long-term effects. Promiscuity is attacked b/c of high disease rate, but homosexuality isn't, despite its typically higher promiscuity than even "promiscuous" heterosexuals. The desire for consistency, key to rational discourse, compels me to point out that not all harmful behaviors are treated the same. For some (say, Anne Heche), gay is a trend, like smoking. Is 1 ok, but not the other?

  • You're not comparing like subjects.

Homosexuality is not a choice, smoking is. Smoking is a behavior that automatically incurs the costs of use. So are drug use and unprotected sex. Being gay does not have any automatic health cost that is put upon the person just for being gay.

  • @andyissemicool I don't deny it's inborn for some, but gay males are disproportionally the products of single mother households, or child molestation, so there's certainly an environmental component as well. It is for these ones for which I oppose propagandizing it to the point of absurd Orwellian public school discussions like "when did you decide to become straight", as if natural sexual roles are chosen. That sort of illogical mentality is a form of psychological abuse to kids in schools.

  • Yeah except a dick doesn't always carry disease with it, while smoking always carries negative health effects. Smoking is destructive from the start, and being cay can be only sometimes destructive. He's not comparing like subjects.

  • I'm sure you jest but as a left handed person I was subjected to large metal straps being forced on my right hand to correct my misfortune of being a left handed person. This was the public school system in the early 80's. That was abuse.

  • Does the category "parent" include stepparents? The "unmarried partner of parent" category suggests it does.

  • The Suicide chart is almost a perfect Fibonacci sequence.... interesting.

    appalling....

  • You know how Dr. Phil always says "This is going to be a changing day in your life"? Well, the least I can say this is already a very changing day in my life. I don't think I've ever been exposed to something so obvious which I haven't seen.

Thank you, this has, in a way, greatly improved my life so far.

  • 90% of the brain is developed by age 4...... that has so many implications on our society.... even without the abuse, most kids are not being taught to read before age 4 so think of how many neuron pathways are left unopened in the average person.

  • I got an 8 :/

  • Are we an insane species?

  • @ks100001 I do indeed believe we are...

  • ***** fav'd and shared. This is something people need to see.
