  • I didn't start liking this song til I heard it live through youtube. So great.

  • The last min of this song is ridiculous.

  • way better live.

  • Maynard's voice is just so hauntingly beautiful at 3:52. I've been watching this clip since it was first posted back in 2007 and to this day I still feel the same way I did the very first time I saw it. There'll never be another quite like Maynard in all of rock.

  • @chimaera01 I agree with you. Coupled with the one minute buildup, in my opinion, it's a very powerful wrap up. I crossed my arms down on my desk, buried my face in them, and went for a swim in this song.

  • I thought I read he had pretty much recorded all the tracks before they ever even decided to form a band. Maybe that didn't include the lyrics - ah well. Enjoy it for what it is. @zzsharka

  • 2 ppl need to be iluminated

  • i love how billy rapes those cords

  • The breakdown near the end is one of the best ever.

  • I'm pretty sure this is going to be the best concert of my Life!...!!!!!!!

Been to: 3 TooL shows and One crazy awesome Puscifer show.

  • maynard has an AMAZING voice

  • Billy's a very underrated guitarist, I love bands made of guitar techs. They've got the nerdiest effects and tunings.

  • thats my name zomg

  • Glad to hear they're supposed to be coming out with some new material in the future. I was starting to think they were done forever.

  • I've seen good APC performances, but the vocal and instruments even the visuals was on that night. They kicked ass!!!! Maynard you are the man!!!

  • love this song

  • one of my favorite APC songs. I saw them twice live, and they played this once. Too bad they arent a band anymore.

  • The guest drummer is Jeff Watson AKA The Captain from the bands The Icarus Line, Black Elk and he is now the new drummer for The Burning Brides. You Can check him out at my-space/captain_icarus

  • OMFG

    awesome

  • I love this song and absolutely agree - his vocals are at it's best here!! Awesome!!

  • Sounds more like " Won't let you"

  • the ending of this song sounds like one of maynards best moments of his live career. spectacular voice that night.

  • I wonder if there's a live version of Omar Rodriguez Lopez from TMV performing this song with APC???

  • Not to sound like a know it all by any means, but he's actually saying "hoping too, hoping too, hoping too reconnect to you."

  • i would love to have this song in a better quality

  • Thomas was the middle name of his father, who died when he was young, leading to his mother marrying the guy who sexually abused him.

The song is about his desire to get over that experience.

  • Where'd you hear that? Not saying you're lying or anything, I just like to keep up with the real facts because a looot of people like to spread b.s. about great artists like himself.

  • you sure?

adam jones' middle name is thomas as well.

    just saying...

  • @Maynard0504 Ya, it could be about his arguements with adam after aenima came out. Maybe...

  • @lilvjdude Y'all are missing the point in that all these songs were written by Billy Howerdel before the formation of APC, he originally wanted a female singer. Sure Maynard may have had an influence on the final product, but the songs off of Mer de Noms are Billy's perspective.

  • @hpsfl I was under the impression maynard wrote the lyrics... I'll check it out though

  • @hpsfl Last time I checked Maybnard wrote the lyrics for A P C when he was on the road with Tool.

  • Damn good album. Wish they would do another.

  • It sounds like maynard is saying,"god bless you",because someone keeps sneezing.this video is fucking awesome...especially near the end. HEll yeah! i'm seeing Puscifer in Vegas for the 2nd time!

  • goddamn.. good memories.. awsome cd!

  • Every time I listen to this song, it takes me by surprise how heavy it really is.

  • deffinitely one of the best apc songs

  • Thanks for sharing such an awesome video. got any more from this concert?

  • "show me the way forgive you, allow me to let it go..." "LET GO LET GO LET GO LET GO LET GO, or wear the grudge like a crown of negativity...LET GO amen!

  • lol, good one.

  • Very nice lol

  • Wtf happens at 2:20? :)

  • 2nd drummer tagged in

  • His voice sends chills down my spine...

  • this is the most underrated song on mer de noms. I love it. especially when he says "illuminate me!"

  • @bigredmarx Dam right, i just saw them last night at the Fox in detroit. This song and reignholder are the best, but the entire mer de noms cd is from front to back the best album i think ever made.

  • 3:40-4:25 is truly amazing...this is maynard at his best folks....cherish it

  • To possibly answer a few questions about the guest drummer, has anyone taken into account that it might be the drummer from APC's opening band...I've been to a few Tool concerts and the drummer from the opening act had come out on a song or two to guest play along with Danny...Thats just a guess though I mean who knows unless you were actually there...

  • I don't think so... I think their opening band was The Mars Volta for this tour, right? That's definitely not their drummer.

  • "That guy is rocking the fuck out."

  • Of all tool and APC songs, this one is my favourite.

  • on the contrary Joey worked with maynard on the V is for Viagra (the vagina remixes) album :)

  • this concert would be awesome, i like when paz plays with them, the violin makes it sound really cool. too bad she wasnt in the band at this time. APC better get back together!

  • he has such an awesome voice in this song.

  • joey jordison, the drummer for slipknot did the drunk with power remix for puscifer, so maynard is most likely friends with him and/or slipknot, but as for the guest in the vid-no fucking clue lol

  • Love this song. :D

  • To the people who upload these APC videos, you are amazing. Thank You. v_v

  • The Clown from Slipknot?!?! I'm more inclined to say Danny Carey, the drummer from TOOL

  • It's a plausible thought, cuz PLC did do show(s) w/ APC and Danny did come out and play with them on Thomas at least once in 2003. However, I might have to disagree considering how short that guy looks and how tall Danny is. But I'm also fairly certain it's not Joey from Slipknot. I could be wrong about everything. Maybe it's both combined. But I'll throw my idea out there... judging by his hair and the way he moves... definitely Animal from The Muppets.

  • Since no one seems to know who the muppet drumming in the front is, I thought I'd throw Clown from Slipknot in the ring...Seems fitting doesn't it?

  • This is my fav APC song.. and not to hug maynard's nuts but I think this is his best song too

  • out of tool and apc or just apc...cuz if you think its out of both...ur insane!

  • i like how maynard id always in the back singing his hert out. hes fucking inspirational.

  • he has the voice of an angel. around 2:12...fucking beautiful.

  • Maynard the vocalist from Tool

  • My bad I'm a fucking idiot, I didn't watch the video all the way through the first time that was a guest appearance by somebody else.

  • Yhe guy drumming in the front isn't Maynard. Maynard is the guy in the back center.

  • my bad i thought u meant the real apc drummer

  • that is josh friese, the drummer from the vandals

  • lOVE THE bUILD UP AROUND 3:40

  • carey is amazing, but that's Josh Freese. Also played on the APC debut. Amazing fuckin drummer.

  • Danney Carey is a god... that actually gets said quite often by myself and friends of mine.. so there, put that in your pipe and smoke it =D hehe jk

  • Lots o' people getting stoned when the camera pulls back, smoke everywhere.

  • I wish I could have been there to experience the sound of 2:45 onward. The bass must have been CRAAAAAAZY with the extra drummer. Wish Wish Wish I could have been there.

  • who was that percussionist infront of maynard?

  • How about remastering the fucking sound next time, for those of us that don't want to blow out their goddamn eardrums (headphones), or speakers?

  • MAN, maynards vocals are fucking flawless, is it just me or is he losing his vocals to a degree..i mean for the 10kdays tour he doesnt bother with the ending to vicarious and for stinkfist "if i really dont feel anything at all" he just sings it normally instead of high..im really glad i was able to catch APC on the last tour..purely amazing

  • It's sad to say, but however true, Maynard's age and his "abuse" (never stopping use of) his voice is taking it's toll. It's rare to hear him scream like he use to, and when he does it's just not the same. Either way, he remains in the top 3 most talented people, ever. and he will always be my god.

  • Aye... :( I agree. Think we'll be excpecting a very soft new tool album as well. Much depper that the previous ones for that specific reason. That is good tho!

  • i dont know if we will, like it might be real deep but prolly not real emotional for maynard, according to him he doesnt want to do any more emotional songs like wings, it took too much out of him, as you may have seen, the first time they did it live he broke down after a few lines, but came back to finish it, for that i admire him so much, but he doesnt like the reaction he got from people at shows moshing during wings

  • Yeah.. moshing during Wings? They should have the shit kicked out of them. I sat down and shut up personally when they played Wings 1 and 2 when I saw them live out of respect for his mother.

  • People enjoy differently, and they paid to get in. Do you think they were thinking you should have the shit kicked out you for not showing yourself into the music as much as them?

Respect is subjective; had you known the moshers your opinion could had became objective, however, that's not the case. But hey, they should get the shit kicked out of them because you're opinion is oh so venerated, right?

  • Not at all... my point is only there is a time and place for things. Moshing during a mostly soft song about a mans dead mother made no sense to me. Moshing to say.. hooker with a penis or jerk off makes more sense given their tempos and emotion they carry. That is all. I move around intensely while listening to Tool and I'm sure to and outsider it would seem like I'm insane or on acid so I can't judge people for moshing but anyhow. Just the mosh to that... is all Sorry for offending you.

  • I took it to literally but understood your point, sorry if I sounded pushy. Wings live leaves me emotionally drained; I guess I just enjoy the release through physical exhaustion along with it. I want lie though, my girl and I interpose Marie with our lives so we aren't moshing to a dead man's mother; merely our interpretation.

  • I don't want to die until I see APC live. Why the hell didn't I find them earlier!

  • same here o3o ;)

  • Was lucky enough to see them do the pre-Thirteenth Step tour in a small venue - its better than you'd imagine.

  • I don't even want to imagine. It makes me depressed and so jealous I might strangle something :D

  • divine

  • i just crapped myself

  • yesssssssss shit hot.fuck yessssssssssss

  • fukkin a yes thank you

  • Man I love this shit, awesome!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Sick ! Amazing !

  • Great song.. one of my favorites. Thanks for the post

  • Fuck what a voice Maynard has! There's no other voice in rock and roll quite like his, it's absolutely sublime. I can't stop watching this video.

  • Amazing performance!!! Who is that guest drummer infront of Maynard? He's rocking the fuck out haha

  • "RE...CONNECT..." Ridiculously long sustained note, followed by an almost shimmering fluctuation of pitch for the rest of the word - like the initial syllable is reflecting off waves or something. It's brilliant, and the delivery couldn't be better.

  • This may be true, but lets not forget that Maynard has an extreme sensitivity to light, thus is why you don't see him ever faceing direct stage light with his eyes open when they are on anything above low level intensity. But your right in retrospect, he isn't 'the key' element to either A Perfect Circle, Tool, or Puscifer but rather 'a key' element.

  • Maynard is DEFINITELY the key element to Puscifer since it is HIS solo project. He is the only constant member and just employs guest musicians to play on the albums and in the live shows. You are right about the other two bands though. Sorry that was an old comment, I know.

  • Yeah, I know everytime I read the comments for any APC video on YouTube, there are a dozen "mAyNaRd Is A gOd AnD i WoRsHiP hIm!!!111111!!!!!!11". I completely adore his music, and they way he does vocals. The outsider is a perfect example of that, the way that he sings it says so much more beyond the lyrics.

  • I thought reading "Danny Carey is a god" was pretty common in Tool videos. And Puscifer is pretty incredible is you haven't heard it yet. Jeordie Whit is good but not even a lesser-god...

  • Yea every drummer who likes tool knows Danny Carey is amazing. (Myself especially) Sorry to reply to your 6 month old comment, this is to MetalChickenDragon lol.

  • i could name one: smashing pumpkins...

  • "REEEEE-REEEEEEEE-CONNNEEEEEEEEEEECT with you"

I close my eyes to that part, so fkn incredible.

Maynard's voice is so heavenly its orgasmic.

  • Tool is still much better.

  • well of course tool is better but you have to admit apc is pretty amazing.

  • hmmm.

I could say that both bands are very talented and that they make different music for different people and emotions, but I would just sound like everyone trying to defend both bands.

    So... chew on this:

They are both over-rated by their annoying fans who keep telling ME that maynard is god.

Of course, I still listen to them because it is good music.

  • What band is better than Tool. Give me some names. I would love to know.

  • Maynard makes absolutely incredible music. He is not a god or god or anything resembling a god lol...I think the people telling you he's god are playing with you. to say that either of these bands is over rated is a joke. The fact that most people DONT like either of these bands is what makes it that much more special to those who really enjoy it...simple as that.

  • Secon that. All hail

  • Looks like Shawn (Clown) from Slipknot to me

  • i absolutely LOVE Maynard's voice on this song. Spot on. the man is amazing like that. I miss the hell out of this band.

  • Thats not Tim Alexander, thats Tommy Chong on crack!

  • "Primus" Tim Alexander?

  • That is not Tim Alexander at all.

  • the blonde guy is tim alexander, i believe. he was the drummer during "the hollow" on mer de noms.

  • I saw them play this in Long Beach with guest appearences by the guitarist and bassist from Mars Volta playing their respective instruments as well as Josh Freeze's father and brother playing saxaphones. Maynard was also playing guitar. This is the only video I have seen that even compares.

  • Anyone know who the blonde guy is who reminds me of Animal from The Muppets?

  • Ever heard of Josh Freese ?
