  • visual and verbal

  • this is how i feel all the time and i have to simply all my words and cant say what i mean because of my spelling :(

  • I am dyslexic, and I totally do this as well! Thank goodness for spell check and a thesaurus! I do not take offensive to this at all, and I think others need to understand that Dyslexia effects everyone differently and shouldn't be so quick to judge.

  • if she was dyslexic the handwriting would be a mess

  • Dear sir

I'm sorry to hear that. What have you tried that might have helped? I have a disability and found Irlen colored lenses

. The irlen lenses corrected something to improve many things. Let me know if they help? Irlen.com for more info.

  • I am dyslexic and if this person in the video is dyslexic I apologize but I think this is a joke and it is very offensive to me and probably to many other dyslexic people and which dyslexia is not something to be made fun of or to be taken lightly.

  • @GabrielDiNardo Wow, I'm sorry you took offense to this, but I can promise you that I am dyslexic, this video is not a joke, and I was certainly not taking it lightly.

  • Hi ZFroggirl I also have dyslexia and i do exactly like you....always! Nice to know im not alone :) Take care /H

  • This always hapends to me but Im not dislexic I don't think

  • Well, if you do not know how to spell, memorize it, that's the only way you can live on with your Dyslexia, if you forget, do not give up.

It does not matter if you try, try and try and end up failing

It DOES matter if you fail, fail and fail and not DOING anything :0

  • @dragonster82 People Who has this kind of dyslexia. They do know how to spell the words But When writing it out the words that you wanted to spell just don't come out of your mind.

Spelling checkers Help a lot :) Cheers For the person who Make spelling checkers

  • there are many forms of dyslexia, however you do not 'develop' dyslexia, it is actually a hereditary 'mental disability' and no this does not mean dyslexic people are stupid infact the majority of dyslexic people have rather impressive IQ'S (einstein, da vinci etc etc).

oh and there is a common link between dyslexia and artistic ability. i'd go into detail but i'm running out of characters :(

  • this is offencive to me. i have disluxia.

  • for those with or studying dyslexia you should really check out this site. It covers more of the positive traits rather than just the negative crap we've had drilled into our heads our hole lives.

    happydyslexic com

  • "Now yes, I could look in the dictionary, I could look the words up online, but do you see the amount I am unsure of? It would take an hour to write a letter." I think you are just lazy ....and stupid...

  • it seems like your making fun of us not every one has this bad of spelling

  • Great video, i have diagnosed with dyslexia too, I'm exactly like that. my English is not my native language and now that i study English literature , it's like i have to start all over again, since my native language(Greek) its in a better condition, after years of practice because i love writing and it's my way to express my thought and my feelings. i believe that dyslexia is part of my self and part of my life that i could never separate it.

  • I'm sorry, this is so mean to say but, Lawl! Do you think you could read Greek like in "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief"? ><

  • God I was almost thinking the way you were talking that how I write! I don't have dyslexia but I have a lot of its symptom ex can't spell write out thoughts handwriting sucks and more stuff

  • HurHur I iz a returd and I cunt spill.

  • @Niklasdiver123 SHUT UP!

  • omg i do the same thing when im typing or wrighting. im glad to know im not the onely one. one thing i do wish tho is teacher and others would not correct me on my spelling or gramer.

  • Dyslexia Rocks! yeah!

  • wow there are so many people with dyslexia

well, im not (just saying because most of the people that add comment on here is dyslexic)

  • I am also dyslexic! Althow my dyslexia is very badd, sory four my speling.

  • wow this exactly what i experience!!! (im dyslexic) except i dont say jeez lawize at the end and im sure i didnt spell that right lol

  • mixed dyspraxia Dyslexia

  • WTF is this? I'm dyslexic and this isn't how I work (especially with the fake posh accent). My spelling is pretty okay, I just can't get what's in my head into words. I forget what I'm going to write, I merge words together, I miss out words, I write the wrong words and write verrrry slowly too.

    Dyslexia isn't just about spelling!!

  • @lizmrg

Very true. But when you need to white a word and you cant you get lost. my problem is when I got stuck the ideas keep coming and I get lost.

  • I usually just write the wrong word anyways. Unless i'm texting, I sometimes hate texting because I can't spell the word i would like to spell and the autocorrect doesn't pick it up because I am trying to spell it so wrong. Lame! Then, I really do dumb down my words.

  • I know how you feel!!! I do the same thing!

  • Sounds like my dyslexia. Dyslexia code ;) I think it was be better to draw pictures to send them to people.

  • I CAN'T SPELL PROPERLY AND I COULD REALINTIL IWAS ABOUT 10-12 MY MUM WAS THE ONE WHO SPOTTED MY DYSLEXEA WHEN I WAS 4 (STARTING SCHOOL) THE SCHOOL KEPED DINIEING IT BUT MY MUM KEEPED SAY I DID HAVE IT SHE KNEW IT BECAUSE MY DAD HAS IT ND MY OLDER CUZ HAS IT TOO WEN I WAS IN 3RD CLASS I WENT TO THIS SPECIAL WORK SHOP FOR DYSLEXICA EVERY TUESDAY . • are you takeing the mik i have dyslexia

  • im pretty sure that this is just bad spelling, not dyslexia. Dyslexia can cause problems on planning to write something, which i saw no problem you doing.

  • I respectfully disagree with you. I have been tested positive for dyslexia in three clinical tests. It is not just a spelling problem, its a different way of thinking about things. Also, I know what you were discribing with trouble writing, but not every dyslexic person has this trouble. There are many different types of dyslexia, and people often think it is limited to things like this. I would caution you to call out others and diegnos their ways of thinking, but thanks for watching.

  • @ZFroggirl dont worry i have almost every symption of dyslexia, been diagnoused like 3 times, all of them stateing that i have classic dyselxia, and ignorent people say im not dyslexic because i dont see words move. And the morons dont know that thats an entirely different condition to dyselxia. Lots of ignorence about dyselxia out there.

  • @ZFroggirl When I was very young, I had a visual dyslexia- mirror writing and all. Maybe it's due to left-handedness. Somehow it was corrected around the time of kindergarten. Since then I haven't written backwards. But I've always been a pro at spelling. You're right about there being many types of dyslexia, it's sort of a catch all term that can mean a great number of things. I think the spelling issues have less to do with visual and moreso in the cognitive/verbal/speaking realm of the brain.

  • @oliverjamescarr I disagree with you....I am dyslexic and do the same exact thing as this video

  • @oliverjamescarr

B.S. I am greatd E on the scale form tests. Thats pretty much it. All though I would not get that far.

  • @oliverjamescarr I totally understand what she means, all the words she says she doesn't know how to spell, she might know, but can't think about it at the moment, I get that problem a lot

  • WTF with your accent? also i have deslexia and i admit that i dono how to spell and i always try to find new words that fit the sentence that im trying to spell also i still dont know how to spell right >:(

  • Oh that is sooo how I feel when I try to write free hand I have to dumb everything down to basic words that I know I can spell right. The last thing you want is some one reading a letter and saying this idiot cant spell, but I always feel like when I'm writng I still sound foolish or undeucated. ERRRR. thanks for sharing this loved it....

  • This is EXACTLEY what it's like. ;/

  • This person probably have a spelling problem other than being dyslexic

  • OMG I LOVE THIS, I was 8 when I was diagnosed (which was in one sense lucky, but on the other hand it was due to how bad I was) I don't know how many times I banged my head on the table or just cried in pure frustration when I was at school or doing homework, never being able to spell the words I wanted to use, I once got so annoyed with my self I wasted a whole A4 page trying to spell 'Police' over and over using every permutation and it never looked right.

  • lol I can relate

  • i am dyslexic. so what? i still can spell every word in this sentance correctly. yes.

  • @99geteverthing you can't even spell 'sentence'

  • I don't wish to poke fun at the original poster, or any other person whom believes them self to be dyslexic. But... as a very keen reader/writer and English student I think people need to understand a draw a line between being Dyslexic and have a problem with spelling. They are two problems often perceived as one. I don't claim to be an expert and could not tell you exactly how to differentiate between the two.

  • True point. I have been tested for dyslexia in three clinical tests, and it is far beyond just spelling. It is simply a different kind of intelligence. But I would be cautious to call people out and label them either dyslexic or "just a bad speller" because it can seem hurtful or harmful. I understand where you are coming from, but I would hope that you don't accidentally hurt someone with this vantage point.

  • I understand what your saying. My intention was actually to help people. Its very easy for a genuinly bad speller or somebody with bad eyesight to watch this and go... ahh!! so thats what i have.. well.. i guess its all over red rover. When in actual fact there are simple solutions to there problems. If people suspect they have a problem, seek medical advice and get a professional diagnosis. I have trouble sleeping, always have, however this doesnt mean i have Insomnia.

  • Again... Please... i am not poking fun at people that have been diagnosed with dyslexia... infact i understand very little about the condition hence why im watchng these videos, one thing i have learnt though is that it is an extremely complex condition that can manifest itself in various ways among people. The best way i can put it is like this, If one has a runny nose, cough, sore thought and headache. These are the symptoms for over 100,000 different illnesses, if you get my drift.

  • @Megameatloaf i have never been tested .and the written english language looks to me like russian looks like to you .i have had jobs that requierd writing a lot of numbers accuratly .i would read the number .say the number . writete the number .then read the number again .then read what i wrote to see if it was the same thing i read.all ass fast as you would do it once. i am 55 fife and i have strugled with all my life .it not a spelling problem.i can only type with one hand (i have two )

  • I was 25 and when I accidentally discovered that there was a word for this. No teacher ever told me that I had dyslexia.

I always had to use the computer to write letters. I never to write a letter by hand without corrections.

  • If you are wondering why people with this are like that it's because every time you look at the word 1 tiny thing changes.

  • wow thanks for sharing this vidio, it relly helped me see i'm not the only 1 how seems to strugle over evryother owrd it was odly reashoring. the strage thing for me is that i can often spell a conmpicated owrd near inouf but its the little walds i tend to missspell, it can be so frustrating.

  • @01stanbk HERE ILL TRANSLATE FOR YA: wow thanks for sharing this video, it really helped me see I'm not the only one who seems to struggle over every other word. it was oddly reassuring. the strange thing for me is that i can often spell a complicated word near enough but its the little words i tend to misspell. it can be so frustrating:by 01 stanbk: THERE YA GO IM DONE. HOPE I SAVED YOU AND EVERY ONE ELSE ATTEMPTING TO READ YOUR LETTER. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS TRANSLATED SO NOW I WILL LEAVE BYE! XD

  • i love the way im not the only 1 with dislexyere

  • this happon to me all the time

  • Wow seems hard to be dyslexic when it comes to writing.

  • I hate being dislexic I would do anything to stop being dislexic

  • lol just like

    me

  • LOL, yeah I know exactly how she feels, I have dyslexia.

  • Excellent video I,ve posted a video responce an Interview with an lady called Anne Stephens who is dyslexic her self and an expert on the condition

  • The important thing isn't how you spell the word but that you adequetly communicate your thoughts.

Go ahead. Spell a word wrong. Just make it phonetically correct.

  • @SepherStar I wish my teachers would feel the same way..

  • The same happens to me, I no all kinds of good words but can't spell them so I have to dumb down what I write.

  • haha, story of my life!

  • That is sooo me every time I try to write a letter but I always try to keep a book by me so I can look up words or some thing that has the word I need to write, like a U2 CD so I can write "desire" or "haven't."

  • I'm exactly like that!

if it wasn't for spell-check, I'd really suck.

  • Ha, Ha that really is what it's like! I should send this to people who don't understand what being dyslexic is like.

  • HEY I'M DYSELXIA i'm 13 and even if i can't spell as well as others in year 8 I CAN PAINT WAY BETTER THEN ANY ADULT AND I CAN PLAY GUITAR AND I AM VERY ARTISTIC !

  • I understand what you mean I am as well dyslexics and I can't stand writhing because it makes me feel people believe that I not the smart when I have a very large vocabulary.

  • it's just like as if i was a ked all over, very good vocab, very bad spelling, it is hard, but if you can over come, it makes you stonger

  • i fell the same way i have a goodish vocab but i just cant spell worth crap TGFSC (thank god for spell check)

  • arent dyslexics very artistic though?

how is it to live with dyslexia, is everyday a struggle?

my boyfriend is dyslexic, he never really hung out with a lot of people when he was in highschool and doesnt really write much down, but he is super artisitic.

i wonder if he stayed clear of people because he was dyslexic.

  • I am not sure if dyslexia leads to artistic abilitys or impeads social skills. I hope not! And other then anoying things like writing letters, dyslexia doesnt really affect my life.

  • @ZFroggirl it dose sadly :(

  • this is my LIFE!!! I rely on spell check for everything! I speak SO well, yet when I type or write I have severe difficulties with spelling. Even in typing this comment, I have had to correct 4 words because they were lit up red with error.

  • I am dyslexic in grad school. With spellcheck and autiorecordings in class I can do just as well as other students. I'm finnishing a masters degree in Spanish literature. Oviously dyslexia has not keept me from learning, Its not a disability, its a diffrence. A diffrent way of learning with acomidations and external tools.

  • I can't spell at all, like i failed every spelling class i ever took in school... so i often find myself dumbing down myself too...it sucks

  • i can't say all i whant but i understand you.

    Completely

if you feel like telling me your story i would love to share mines

(DAM i did it mynes My own) i really do not what to cluster bomb you

  • Tottaly get you. On the lovely flip side though, dyslexics are some of the smartest people on this earth and proven to be negative for most kinds of mental illnis. But ya, I feel you, it sucks.

    zo
