ITS A THERAPEUTIC VIDEO PEOPLE you need it to be safe for people like me after back surgery we need to do gentle stretch or we could make the problem worse
yeah, sick and tired of all these videos that promote a "safe" way.. sure we should all "safely" stretch, but what they're teaching barely constitutes baby steps.
My hamstrings are too tight to sit in this position with my back straight. I can sit at a 120 degree angle and have to use everything I've got in my abs to hold myself up. If I push myself forward with my hands, my back just curves. So how do I obtain a stretch in my hamstrings?
Not only is "stretching" for more than 30 seconds not in itself harmful, it can be very healthful & promote deeper release & harmonious kinesthetic embodiment and awareness. Better even than opening a book, meditate and simply focus and pay attention to own body sensations. Direct open minded & exploratory experience is better than assumptions and book learning imo.
I have been focusing on individual stretches, to open deeper into them, for often over 5 minutes each with no injury and much multidimensional benefit, for over 20 years now. Without injury.
Thanks ET & the person performing them here for sharing. Simple & effective.
I can't even sit straight up with my legs straight out.. hurts too much! argh my hamstrings are fucked!

if you don't bend down and sustain some pain you will never get better flexibility

Antiquated technology... Look up Bob Cooley for the state of the art in stretching, and its fun and painless.

:) Maybe you can tell me the science that you base your supposed facts on?!??!
Our stretches are actually Based on Science!!! Had to open a Book to know the science Behind it ;) So I recommend YOU open a BOOK!! ;)

30 second stretches are out dated and can cause Overuse Injuries due to ischemia!
jdcc33 3 years ago
lol. open some books. 30 seconds is about a good time for developmental stretch. depends from the technique...
