Umm there is already has been like hundreds of Star Trek video games that had been released almost for 30 years now and I would say this one just looks kick ass and just knocks the rest of them out of orbit especially Star Trek Online which was a huge disappointment.

I do hope that this will fill in the gabs between Star Trek 2009 and Star Trek (2013/14?) simply because filming of "Star Trek 2 (12)" isn't going to start until the start of early 2012. And because this game is coming out sometime in 2012. It would be an ideal time fill in the gap between JJ's films. I am still undecided if I will get this. I might do if only if it'll fill in the gaps....but still, Im not sure.
@spam1138 You seem to forget that the script for a 2nd JJ ST movie has not yet been finished yet (or so I've read online). Also, I did not state that it has to be a "complete" gap fill. The 2nd movie from JJ may not completely follow on from this game but it may take place, shall we say, 2 years later or so? I highly doubt events from this game will be included or mentioned about in JJ's ST2. It's just to give fans an insight to what happened between the JJ's ST films. And btw. its gap, not gab.

I really hate of the most popular of anything is reffered to as the original, Mass Effect did not originate that type of gameplay, nor did uncharted. Technically you can say Mass Effect copied Uncharted because it came out sooner. Its like saying apple invented the touch screen, they are just the ones who made it popular. Even if It is a Mass Effect rip of, I would love that. Star Trek is a great universe and Mass Effect is an awesome game. That means this game would be amazing.
It doesn't matter. Mass Effect and Uncharted play differently, by the way. But, it's just to familiarize people. Just like MMO's are compared to WoW. Well Star Trek has plenty sexy aliens as well. Seven of Nine, the most sexiest Borg drone ever. She is one fine example and there is T'Pol, the sexiest Vulcan female. I also find Ezri Dax sexy too and she is a joined-Till. Oh yeah there is the Orion females (green-skinned aliens, aka Orion slave girls) and they are very hard to resist. They have the ability to induce anyone male or female. They are like the asari (Liara T'Soni's race) in some ways. Lol.

Wow guys, really? Only the getting-in-cover animations and the running animations look anything like Mass Effect. Plus, I highly doubt this game's gonna have any RPG elements whatsoever. So basically what I'm saying is, this looks like a action-focused Star Trek game that's looking pretty good so far, and isn't much of a ripoff of anything so far as we know at this point.
If it's a rip off of Mass Effect...Then so be it. A game like Mass Effect set in the Star Trek Universe sounds like a match made in heaven. I'm surprised no one thought of it before.

Wow guys, really? Only the getting-in-cover animations and the running animations look anything like Mass Effect. Plus, I highly doubt this game's gonna have any RPG elements whatsoever. So basically what I'm saying is, this looks like a action-focused Star Trek game that's looking pretty good so far, and isn't much of a ripoff of anything so far as we know at this point.

If it's a rip off of Mass Effect...Then so be it. A game like Mass Effect set in the Star Trek Universe sounds like a match made in heaven. I'm surprised no one thought of it before.

@DuhDuhDAVEY Although I don't think you see enough to call it a "shitty" version of Mass Effect, I have no doubt it won't be a better version. Mass Effect (and especially ME2) is one of the best game series *ever*. Even a lesser version of this style of game could still be a great game. As a Star Trek fan I would love a good combination of a trek story with ME gameplay.

OTOH, there IS a new Star Trek film coming out, the 12th one and sequel to the 2009 re-boot that's "already out". That comes out--tenetively--in 2012.
