You shouldn't try to disprove religion because it won't work. Even if you come up with some sort of theory or evidence, there's not going to be many people who will give up their faith.

I highly recommend India for religious freedom, feel free to make the move if one think China is not free enough. Not only India enjoys a mostly tropical climate but the entire atmosphere is amazingly Holy. From the cows revered as God on the streets to the largely practiced vegetarianism to the holy Ganges which Indians bathe, swim, wash clothes in, as well as drinking and performing rituals all the time. Not to mention the freedom to choose to becoming one of the legendary Aghoris.
Forced atheism is just as bad as forced Christianity. Secularism is the way to go. Government needs to get out of the religion business.
P.S. Don't think that China is the only one who does this. The American government constantly involves itself in religion, despite its unconstitutionality ("Under God" and "In God we trust" ring a bell?). Do the world a favor and start denouncing ANY government endorsement of religion.

It's just a handy way to express multiple ideas with one word. If the word "flooper" means someone who supports both freedom of speech and democracy, then I'm a "flooper". They just won't go up to them and shoot them. They first have to bring them to prison and torture them until they deny Christ or face death. Last month I visited Shanghai I went to a church that was run by my uncle, he and his congregation were allowd to openly worship without being hassled by the government. If Christians are being persecuted then it is not for religious reasons, but for political reasons. There are certain things all citizens aren't allowed to do politically because the situation over there is different from then over here.

When they get caught, they are tortured or even face death for breaking the law. However, there are other communist countries that persecute christians.

However, if you don't register your church in China, then the government will close it down. That is part of the law. How do you explain the pictures, videos, and news about people being persecuted in China? Last Easter, police arrested a dozen of worshippers in a house church for holding serves.

If they're really persecuted that's one thing, but a lot of them claim to be persecuted when we just want them to stop shoving their mythology in our faces.
China has legalized Christian worship in Churches. It basicially says so in the video. Claiming persecution when you are able to worship is dumb. Also, since the above ground churches are doing good and legal and they can be joined by anybody, why are there underground churches? I suspect some form of illegal activity. If you want to go to the church just register w/ the government, it is only a big deal and a bad thing to do if you are a criminal who is on the run from the law for some reason.
1, my cousin's grand mother is a catholic in China and she is free to attend churches any time she wants.

@XAishah The point you've missed is that it didn't matter "when" they were doing it, or "where" they were doing it. It was the "what" they were doing that I'm questioning being unethical under any circumstances. Killing someone for holding a different ideology, for being homosexual, for working on the seventh day, for not being a virgin on your wedding night, and any of these other reasons is overkill and tyranny. This is not justice to end a life based on non-invasive exercises of life.

Long story short, these people abiding by this moral code helped it be preserved these many years later, and later set the standards of Law in general, so this is how Christians came to be, and by the hands and hard work of Christians who followed this code, they founded a very free nation.

I highly recommend India for religious freedom, feel free to make the move if one think China is not free enough. Not only India enjoys a mostly tropical climate but the entire atmosphere is amazingly Holy. From the cows revered as God on the streets to the largely practiced vegetarianism to the holy Ganges which Indians bathe, swim, wash clothes in, as well as drinking and performing rituals all the time. Not to mention the freedom to choose to becoming one of the legendary Aghoris.

The need for religion or other forms of spirituality cannot be suppressed by brute force (or the suppressed will simply die with happiness and convince the followers even more) but made obsolete by empowerment of people and elimination of the above factors.

My point was that I am a freethinker to the same extent and in the same way that I'm a skeptic or a bachelor: they're just labels that apply to me. The person I was responding to thought it was somehow "ironic" for freethinker to be against all dogma, as if freethought was somehow a dogma. (Also I didn't actually mention atheism as an example, but it's also simply a word that applies to me - I'm not "committed" to any position.)

I still wouldn't call them "dogmatic" for fear of equivocating, but they're certainly not freethinkers.

@whatafart To be clear, just because someone invented a word to describe being opposed to arguments from authority/tradition/dogma etc, doesn't make it a dogma. It's just a handy way to express multiple ideas with one word. If the word "flooper" means someone who supports both freedom of speech and democracy, then I'm a "flooper". But it's not a group or a dogma - it's a label that either applies to your or it doesn't. Flooper and freethinker applies to me.

They just won't go up to them and shoot them. They first have to bring them to prison and torture them until they deny Christ or face death. Last month I visited Shanghai I went to a church that was run by my uncle, he and his congregation were allowd to openly worship without being hassled by the government. If Christians are being persecuted then it is not for religious reasons, but for political reasons. There are certain things all citizens aren't allowed to do politically because the situation over there is different from then over here.

However, if you don't register your church in China, then the government will close it down. That is part of the law. How do you explain the pictures, videos, and news about people being persecuted in China? Last Easter, police arrested a dozen of worshippers in a house church for holding serves.

China has legalized Christian worship in Churches. It basicially says so in the video. Claiming persecution when you are able to worship is dumb. Also, since the above ground churches are doing good and legal and they can be joined by anybody, why are there underground churches? I suspect some form of illegal activity. If you want to go to the church just register w/ the government, it is only a big deal and a bad thing to do if you are a criminal who is on the run from the law for some reason.

the video explained that Christians can legally exist in China and go to church. However lets not forget the fact that they are banned from any government positions and the fact that china has an iron grip on the church to ensure it doesn't get out of control.
Ancient Greeks didn't worship logic or philosophy, some of the great philosophers there where monotheists but the rest of the population where polytheists. I don't think Buddahsm promotes worship of any kind.

No American, Christian or not should in any ways talk about Christianity, because if it wasn't for brave Christians like these we wouldn't have the freedoms which we are so able to enjoy, you wouldn't have the right to call yourself an Atheist or Agnostics if Christians hadn't set the path for religious freedom.
And Find Christ at the end of it all you aren't gonna be able to say "I didn't find Christ because I saw this person do this, or that."

@XAishah The point you've missed is that it didn't matter "when" they were doing it, or "where" they were doing it. It was the "what" they were doing that I'm questioning being unethical under any circumstances. Killing someone for holding a different ideology, for being homosexual, for working on the seventh day, for not being a virgin on your wedding night, and any of these other reasons is overkill and tyranny. This is not justice to end a life based on non-invasive exercises of life.

They needed to set an example of Good they had to walk the walk, with their actions. People were free to leave if they didn't want to abide by those rules, but if they sinned within the Gates, than they had to be cut off of the line of Israel.

Long story short, these people abiding by this moral code helped it be preserved these many years later, and later set the standards of Law in general, so this is how Christians came to be, and by the hands and hard work of Christians who followed this code, they founded a very free nation.

So you are claiming that the Early Indians were our founding Fathers and did not have access to other lands, and so, did not write the Constitution based on Judaistic values because they didn't have a Bible? Note: that science does not give you a conscious and religion does, so don't try and define why people in rural areas don't have a bible but have some moral conscience you are committing a logical fallacy by swaying the subject of a moral code given by God.

@XAishah Even Jainism, an ancient Indian religion, has five main tenets: non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, celibacy, and non-materialism. This religion predates Christianity, and yet has comparable ethics. Wolves, elephants, lions, parrots, chimpanzees and other social animals who coexist in large groups don't need god not to sabotage their society. The deeds performed in the Bible would be gasped at in horror if performed by atheists, but because God says it, it's okay. That's wrong.
