Mypyrex is right - the Prince of Wales is going to be saving a property from its likely descent into a pile of old stones and restoring it to its former glory. Surely Cymuned should be congratulating, not castigating the Prince of Wales. Our Prince's arrival, along with those visits by Prince William and Prince Harry, is going to inject new life into the area. Tourists will flock, new businesses will open and people will want to live there on a permanent basis. Decades of growth!

Yes, that's fantastic! He's bought a house here so the area becomes more attractive so house pirces go up and more tourists flock to the area, the area becomes even more attractive, house prices go up again, local wages can't compete. Another area of rural Wales devoid of any young local Welsh people, therefore no young families, no lively community - but a great place for holidaymakers and the retired.

Get real; every dwelling in Wales occupied by an "incomer" has been sold by a Welshman. As a British subject I have as much right to buy a property in Wales as a Welshman has to buy a property in any other part of the United Kingdom.

With considerable knowledge of North Wales I am too aware that there are numerous dwellings that Welsh farmers and villagers have allowed to become derelict. I have seen dwellings that have been vacated and fall into disrepair. Along comes an incomer - as the Welsh contemptuously describe them - and saves the building from its descent to a pile of stones and restores it to its former glory. What do the Welsh do? Complain of being deprived of housing and homes being taken over by "incomers".
