this happened to me and 2 of my friends. The game lags and the brute won't die. Even if you get if to fall of the edge, the rest of the level will not load to finish.

That happened to me and my buds once; we knocked the Chieftain off into the water. We actually had to stop and figure out where the heck he'd gone! but we'd knocked him the other side of the Dam, into the DEEP (bottomless) Water. LoL.

it also causes a small exploding disabling grunts around for a short second and if there are grenades close, you can cause them to explode too.

I think they had some skulls on for scoring and theres this one skull that has a really annoying effect. You need to use projectile weapons. Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Brute shot, needler, would work.

This is a glitch that happens when you reach the cutscene before Johnson does. If you can manage to do that, the Brute Cheiftain will become invunerable to attacks, and you cannot finish the level.
