Wow this is amazing. I thank God for allowing me to find this. I spent some time looking for Hebrew audio and decided to try YouTube what a huge blessing thank you
God is love. Now I understand the dangers of religion. I know that the Bible says that Satan is a deceiver but I thank God for leading me to this servant of His, who is feeding us with God's truth as it is. The Gospel is made difficult with the proud but for the poor in Spirit, God is our wealth.
". . . and so, in Hebrew it [זכר] does not mean to recall or to recollect something. It means to speak or act in behalf of someone."
Well, actually it does. It just has other nuances, too, and a little different semantic range than its common, simple English gloss: "remember; be remembered; cause to remember." It does have the implication a lot of times of mentioning or acting b/c of the remembrance. But sometimes it does simply mean 'to remember' (e.g., Num 11.5; Deut 8.2; Job 11.16; et al.).
actually, Pontiphar, the man who bought Joseph, is a cook in Hebrew and the translation: "captain of the guard is wrong. this is important because Joseph arrived with a spice caravan
@drorbenami hmm, that is very interesting. Thanks for posting that. Also, I just read the note to Genesis 37:36 in _John Gill's Exposition on the Entire Bible_ (available on e-Sword). I had never noticed the many similarities between Joseph's story and Jesus'. Wow!
@xxpowwowbluexx ....yes except in the story of Jesus there is no corresponding episode to "his brothers" dipping his robe in goat's blood and then asking their father to identifying the robe......
@drorbenami@drorbenami Well, actually that contributed to the fact that Joseph's father thought he was dead, so years later when he found out he was alive it was as if he had received him back from the dead. Jesus the Messiah died, and then later he was raised from the dead. (And there are many other similarities.)

It seems to me that today, the tree of the knowledge of good & evil is symbolizing the INTERNET where "good" and 'evil" are available in abundance.
