The Catcher in the Rye is so good. Such a good book. I just got done reading it...but I had no idea it was Gerard's favorite book..and the school that the kid in the book goes to is called Pencey Prep. (Frank's old band) so I looked it up to see if I was hallucinating...and anyways that led me to this lol. It's sooooo good though!

i disliked it at first, it felt like we were prying into private thoughts

but then i re read it and looked into Holden and why he feels the way he does and it just hit me

i felt inspired to find out about JD Salinger(the author) to see what caused him to feel the emotions that Holden feels in the book beacuse you can tell that they are based on true emotions

I'm pretty young and my teacher asked me what a thought. When I told her, she was like, "Read it again in 10 years." Everyone's said that to me actually. :L

I suppose you do see it in a different perspective. It may be more popular with older people because they remember what it was like to be an angst-ridden teen. And no matter when they grew up they can still relate to how Holden felt.

I'm just barely a teenager myself so I don't know why I like it so much. :/
