Why did you use a jell pad with this product? My Ipad2 dropped and landed on its corner. I'm sending the Smart cover back it has no protection. I keep Ipad in my purse so Im looking for protection and slimness. Thanks

hi rick, love your reviews!! i was very excited about this case but got worried about a couple things i was hoping you could clear up for me.

1. the finishing of the case that you had looked a little funky, e.g. seams at edges were not very clean, slots not lining up, etc. was this a pre-production model?? and if so, then are these imperfections gone from the retail model??

2. you mentioned that the light sensor was covered up in this one... is it still so or has this been corrected??

@TheMacPhotog This was an actual production model that I bought from hard candy cases directly. I wrote to Hard Candy Cases via email, twitter and facebook to find out if future cases will be fixed for the light sensor, but have yet to hear a reply. I would like to exchange my case with a revised one if it becomes available.

I won't recommend this case at all. I have the red one, and have being using it for almost 3days. No cut out for home button was a big issue. My finger alway bump onto the case liner as I try to reach out for the home button. And as you can see in the video, the cut out for the volume, lock, and wake/sleep buttons are not exact. They all go towards one side of the cut out, which creat the same situation like the home button.

For a case that costs $45, it doesn't even fit the ipad2 properly

@samdarhan Absolutely! I have been checking daily on the Speck website to see when they open up sales on the PixelSkin HD Wrap. As soon as it goes on sale i'll pick one up for review.
