Thank you for this precious video of Harry Chapin in concert! I loved this man! I saw him in concert in 1980, and 1981, about 2 months before his death! I even got to shake his hand after the concert in 1980, talk to him briefly, and take pictures of him and his brother, Tom Chapin, his father, etc! Thanks again, BobbyK
There aren't enough people in this world like Harry anymore; he was something very special. I often wonder what he would think of the mess we've made of the world he left 30 years ago.
Harry would have been one of the first to help Haiti and the countries devastated by the tsnaumi,he was one of the bbest humanitarians,I wish my haert was half as big as his
My older sister was going to the University of Colorado in Bolder in the mid 70's and saw Harry Capin perform. SHe said that he was really down to earth and gave a great show. If she had lived to know her baby brother (Me) would love the same music she did, she would freak out....LOL. RIP Harry. You were and are 1 Hell of a Great talent.
Miss and love you Harry. As a Long Islander and as a person I'm so proud of all you did and continue to do for hunger on LI through Long Island Cares and the world through World Hunger Year.
I haven't heard this song since i was like 6 or 7(im 19 now) but as soon as i heard the first line it all came back to me ^-^. my dad and i used to sing it when i was little.great memories!!
@TLW016 my dad got me into harry years ago i'm 22 now and i lost my dad in 08 and i cant listen to this song with out crying. I'm crying right now writing this. God i miss my dad and wish i could of seen harry with him.
@Hellion1 I can't hear it without crying either. I heard Harry sing this back around this time. In that show he told a story about the first time he sang this to his future wife. God, the heart that man had.
Singing this song with my class.

The audience is really not into this.
Either that or they don't understand English.
